GGuest User: Our stay in the Yunshu room type was absolutely fantastic! The location is a huge plus, right near the commercial district with convenient transportation, making it super easy to go out for meals or shopping. The overall environment was quiet and comfortable, and the room was spotlessly clean and tidy, with all the details well taken care of. The biggest surprise was how incredibly comfortable the bed was; I could relax and fall asleep quickly, getting a great night's rest. The staff were warm and attentive, always responding promptly to any requests. All in all, it offers great value for money and is perfect whether you're traveling or just need a short break. It was a truly pleasant stay, and I would definitely consider staying here again next time. Highly recommended!

Not far from the toll station, it is in the ancient town of Lushan. There are many restaurants and supper next to it. There is also a foot bath. The hotel can also bring pets. It is like Lijiang Ancient Town. I feel that I have a taste. The proprietress is very warm and thoughtful and caring. It is very comfortable to have tea and chat together.

It was cold when it rained when we arrived late, but when we got to the room, the air conditioning was fully turned on, which was very cozy. The dinner dishes provided by the hotel are also good, and the chicken soup is delicious. Walking in the mountains to pick tea in the early morning, the air is fresh and refreshing!

GGuest User: The room was exceptionally quiet, and the staff were incredibly thoughtful. Because I'm a light sleeper, they upgraded my room to their branch the next day, where the environment was even quieter and I had a very comfortable stay. Since I missed breakfast on the first day, they even gave us an extra breakfast voucher – so kind of them! I'll definitely stay here every time I go back to my hometown for tomb sweeping; five stars is a must!

Gasa Town is located in Xinping Yi and Dai Autonomous County, Yuxi City. It sits at the eastern foothills of the middle section of the Ailao Mountains, along the banks of the Gasa River, which is the upper reaches of the Red River. The annual average temperature is 17–23 °C, characterized by a valley hot-dam climate. The mountain is home to the Ailao Mountain National Nature Reserve, while the valley below is the settlement area for the Huayao Dai people. Xinping is the largest settlement of the Huayao Dai in China. A winding mountain road connects these two climates and lifestyles in a single day. [Itinerary: 3 days, 2 nights] Day 1: Kunming → Xinping (approx. 3 hours) → Gasa Town. In the afternoon, head to the Huayao Tianjian Folk Culture Village (a national 3A-rated attraction). This village features Huayao Dai folk culture, with earthen houses nestled among the fields. You can experience intangible cultural heritage pottery and traditional brewing methods. In the evening, enjoy the Huayao Dai welcome ceremony and a bonfire party. Stay in Gasa Town. Day 2: Depart at 5:00 AM for Ailao Mountain and wait for the sunrise at the Sea of Clouds Sunrise Observation Deck. In the morning, visit Nan'en Waterfall (meaning "silvery flowing water" in the Dai language; it has a drop of over 100 meters and is over 20 meters at its widest point, located next to the Enshui Highway). In the afternoon, enter Shimen Gorge, follow the stream upstream, pass through stone caves, cross small bridges, and climb cliffs. Stay at an Ailao Mountain hillside hotel or in Gasa Town. Day 3: In the morning, walk the 1.6 km stone-paved loop in the Jinshan Primeval Forest, where ancient trees tower and moss covers the trunks. On the way down the mountain, visit the Ancient Tea Horse Road scenic area (an 8 km section within Xinping is well-preserved, where you can see hoof prints worn into stone, Ming and Qing dynasty iron smelting furnaces, and the Qianjiazhai ruins). Depart in the afternoon. [Core highlights] 1. Sea of clouds sunrise: The best viewing period is from November to February of the following year. Stronger cold air keeps the clouds at a relatively stable altitude, making them less likely to be dispersed by morning winds. The shape of the sea of clouds is described as a giant, soft feather. 2. Nan'en Waterfall: With a multi-level drop of over 100 meters and a width of over 20 meters at its widest point, the water cascades down from a massive rock slab. Autumn and winter are the dry season, so the water volume is smaller than in the rainy season, and the flow is gentler. 3. Shimen Gorge: Named for the five naturally formed "gates" created by the opposing cliffs on both sides of the gorge. Locals say, "If you haven't been to Shimen Gorge, you haven't really been to Ailao Mountain." The stream water is clear, and the rock walls are covered in moss and ferns. 4. Jinshan Primeval Forest: Located at the border of Xinping and Zhenyuan, it preserves the original mid-mountain moist evergreen broad-leaved forest. It is a habitat for the western black crested gibbon and an important international migratory route for birds. 5. Longxi Manor: A Major Historical and Cultural Site Protected at the National Level. It is one of the best-preserved examples of a chieftain's residence in southern Yunnan, blending marble reliefs, red toon wood carvings, and Western architectural styles. 6. Huayao Dai: Known for their vibrant clothing and simple, ancient customs, they still preserve traditions such as nature worship, tooth dyeing, tattooing, and the "Flower Street" festival. [Food recommendations] Gasa hot pot "beef feast" (served with colorful dipping sauce), fire-roasted dried beef strips, dried yellow eel, pickled duck eggs, Xinping pickled vegetables, and Yaonan ham. November to December is the ripening season for Xinping oranges (October to December), and also the brown sugar production season. [Transportation and accommodation] You can take a bus from Kunming to Xinping (approx. 3.5 hours) or take a high-speed train to Huanian Station and transfer to a tourist shuttle. For the trip up the mountain from Gasa, it is recommended to charter a car (approx. 300–400 yuan/day). Accommodation in Gasa Town costs 150–300 yuan/night, and Ailao Mountain hillside hotels cost 300–600 yuan/night. [Tips] 1. The sea of clouds is heavily influenced by the weather. It is recommended to stay for at least two mornings, as the success rate for a single-day arrival is limited. 2. The temperature difference between the mountain and the valley can exceed 10 °C. The temperature at the observation deck in the early morning is about 5–10 °C, so be sure to bring a windbreaker. 3. The mountain road is winding and foggy. Driving up at night is not recommended. If driving yourself, please control your speed. 4. You may only explore the developed areas of Ailao Mountain. The unopened primeval forest has complex terrain and weak mobile signals; unauthorized entry is strictly prohibited. During the rainy season, be aware of warnings for falling rocks and landslides. 5. Please obtain consent before photographing local residents. For travel photography featuring Huayao Dai costumes, please use authorized locations.

3-Day Niche Autumn Travel Guide to Yuxi (September–October) Seasonal Highlights (September–October) Crisp autumn air, less rain, yellow rice paddies in the basin, reeds swaying by the lake, and rich, layered forest scenery in the mountains. Avoid the National Day crowds by traveling one week before the holiday. Skip the popular Fuxian Lake spots and focus on Xingyun Lake wetlands, Tonghai's ancient architecture, Eshan's rural villages, and mountain temples, where you'll find very few tour groups. The temperature difference between day and night is significant, and it's cool by the lake. With plenty of sunny days, it's perfect for walking around the lake or wandering through the mountains, immersing yourself in the local life of southern Yunnan's lakes and countryside. Travel Tips 1. Accommodation: Prioritize homestays in the Hongta District residential areas. Stay away from the resort hotels along Fuxian Lake to enjoy more dining options and convenient transportation to various rural spots. 2. Transportation: Self-driving or hiring a car is recommended. Be careful and drive slowly on the winding mountain roads in the countryside. Public buses have limited schedules and are not suitable for reaching remote villages. 3. Avoiding Pitfalls: Avoid popular scenic spots like Luchong and Moon Bay at Fuxian Lake. Do not eat at the seafood stalls along the lake. Buy local specialties at local markets instead of overpriced shops in scenic areas. 4. Clothing: Bring thin long-sleeved shirts and a windbreaker, as it gets cool in the mountains in the morning and evening. Wear non-slip casual shoes, as paths by the lake and in the countryside can be slippery. Bring sunscreen and mosquito repellent. 3-Day Niche Route (Off-the-beaten-path spots, almost no tour groups) Day 1: Roaming the Xingyun Lake Wetland Fishing Villages (Stay at a homestay in Hongta District) · Morning: Head to the Xingyun Lake eco-corridor, which is free to enter. Take a slow walk along the wooden boardwalk by the lake. Enjoy the vast lake surface and fields of autumn reeds. Watch local fishermen at work. Most visitors are locals, with no large crowds of tourists. Sit quietly to watch the sunset over the lake and experience the authentic atmosphere of a fishing village. · Afternoon: Drive to Heju Village, an unspoiled fishing village by the lake. It retains old fishing houses, and the fields meet the lakeshore. Stroll along the country paths and enjoy the autumn harvest scenery. It is very uncommercialized, offering a quiet experience of daily life in a southern Yunnan fishing village. · Evening: Return to the city to rest; avoid the busy, trendy commercial districts. Day 2: Tonghai Ancient Architecture and Qilu Lake Wetland (Zero influencer spots) · All day: Head to Tonghai and visit Xiushan Park, known as the "Best in Southern Yunnan." The mountain is filled with Ming and Qing dynasty architecture, couplets, and stone inscriptions. It's quiet and secluded, allowing you to avoid holiday crowds. Climb up for a panoramic view of the Qilu Lake basin and enjoy the rich cultural heritage. · Afternoon: Explore Qilu Lake National Wetland Park. The trails around the lake are flat, and the water plants turn yellow in autumn, making it perfect for cycling or walking. Watch the water birds along the shore. Stay away from the popular influencer photo spots and enjoy the wild scenery of the lakeshore all to yourself. · Evening: Return to Hongta District for the night. Day 3: Eshan Ancient Villages and Forests, Local Life, and an Easy Return · Morning: Go to Xie'e Ancient Town in the old town of Eshan. It preserves old streets and an Yi ethnic folk museum. It is not overly commercialized. Stroll through the ancient alleys and experience the local Yi culture of southern Yunnan. · Afternoon: Take a leisurely drive through the surrounding mountain countryside to see the autumn harvest fields. Have lunch with local farm-style dishes and browse the local markets in Hongta District to buy souvenirs before heading back, avoiding the peak travel time. Local Hidden Gem Food (No tourist markup, avoid influencer shops) 1. Dayingjie Qing Songmao Roast Duck Old Shop: A top choice for local gatherings. This intangible cultural heritage dish is roasted over pine needles in a clay oven. The duck skin has a subtle, woody fragrance. Pair it with the dipping sauce for great value. Almost no tour groups visit here. 2. Dingji Eel Rice Noodles: An old community shop in Hongta District. They serve freshly stir-fried eel toppings in a rich, flavorful broth, paired with mint and crispy fried pork skin. It's an authentic Yuxi flavor and a regular dining spot for locals. 3. Lao Zheng Cold Rice Noodles and Pea Jelly Stall: An old street-side shop in a residential area. The dish is sweet, sour, and refreshing, served with pea jelly. It's a local specialty snack found only in residential areas, far from the tourist food stalls. Summary Travel before the National Day holiday in September–October to avoid the crowds. Core strategy: Skip the popular Fuxian Lake spots and focus on the Xingyun Lake fishing village wetlands, Tonghai's Xiushan ancient architecture, the Qilu Lake shoreline, and the rural areas of Eshan's Xie'e Ancient Town. Stay in homestays in the Hongta District residential areas and eat at old community shops. Avoid tour groups and immerse yourself in the lakes, mountains, countryside, and authentic local life of Yuxi.

Many people think that in September–October, Yuxi is just Fuxian Lake crowded with tourists and endless social media photo spots❌! I just finished a 3-day trip through the hidden gems of Central Yunnan, and I'm genuinely warning you against it—because you might fall in love with the forests, ancient villages, and local culture and never want to leave! In September–October, Central Yunnan is crisp and clear with bright highland sunshine. The heat has faded, tourist crowds have thinned significantly, Ailao Mountain is turning colorful, and Huayao Dai flavors and Eshan pounded dishes are in season. It’s a one-stop experience of lakes, mountains, ancient temples, tea fields, and ethnic villages—uncrowded, peaceful, and great value. This no-nonsense, real-life 3-day itinerary for off-the-beaten-path travel is perfect for your short autumn getaway in the Southwest. Just copy and go📝✨ 1️⃣ Real 3-day itinerary experience Day 1: Ailao Mountain canyon and forest route🌲 Depart at 8:00 AM for Ailao Mountain Shimen Gorge. In September–October, the forests are lush, the canyon streams are babbling, and the wooden boardwalks are gentle and easy to walk. The stream water is crystal clear, the air is rich in negative oxygen ions, and there are few tourists. Immerse yourself in the primitive forest and enjoy the quiet atmosphere of the mountains. Light-colored outfits look great with the forest light and shadows; the streams and ancient trees are perfect photo spots📸. For lunch, try nearby caravan-style farm food—wild mountain vegetables and local cured meat. It’s fresh, rustic, and authentic Southern Yunnan flavor for about 50 yuan per person. In the afternoon, visit Nan'en Waterfall. The autumn water volume is abundant, the waterfall rushes down the cliff, and mist fills the air. If you're lucky, you might see a rainbow. View the magnificent scenery from the observation deck without having to squeeze into popular spots. On the way, visit the Longxi Aristocratic Manor to experience the old chieftain's residence and learn about the history of Central Yunnan chieftains. In the evening, return to Gasa Town, stroll through the local streets, and try the Gasa beef hot pot—spicy, savory, and rich. Stay in the town overnight, listen to the mountain breeze, and get away from the hustle and bustle. Day 2: Yi ethnic village and tea field route🍵 Head early to Eshan Yuncha Manor. Thousands of acres of tea gardens spread across the mountains. In autumn, clouds and mist swirl around, and the tea fields stretch out in layers. You can stroll through the tea rows, try simple tea picking, or sit in a tea pavilion to relax. There are almost no tour groups here—it's quiet and healing. For lunch, enjoy a tea-themed feast at the manor, where tea is incorporated into dishes paired with mountain vegetables for a unique flavor. In the afternoon, explore Xi'e Ancient Town, a free Yi cultural town. The ancient buildings and alleys are well-preserved, and you can learn about Yi customs in the intangible cultural heritage exhibition hall. It’s not overly commercialized, so you can stroll slowly and soak up the local atmosphere. In the evening, drive back to Hongta District, visit Qinghua Street, avoid the noisy crowds, browse ceramic creative shops, and feel the evening breeze while experiencing the local life of old Yuxi. For dinner, try Yuxi cold rice noodles or eel rice noodles—sour, spicy, and appetizing to wash away the fatigue of the journey. Day 3: Cultural ancient temples and local market finale🏯 In the morning, head to Xiushan in Tonghai, known as the "most beautiful mountain in Southern Yunnan." Ancient temples are scattered among the forests, with vigorous ancient cypresses and numerous stone inscriptions and plaques. Climb up to overlook Qilu Lake. There are few tourists, making it perfect for a quiet stroll to appreciate the cultural heritage of Central Yunnan. For lunch, eat local snacks in Tonghai Old Town, like bean powder candy and rice cakes—unlock the daily food of locals for just over 10 yuan. In the afternoon, choose one of two options: if you prefer science, visit the Chengjiang Fossil Site Museum (free, requires reservation) to see ancient fossils—it's cool indoors and avoids the afternoon sun. If you like markets, go to the local farmers' market to buy affordable souvenirs like tea, handmade pottery, and dried fruit, avoiding the overpriced shops in tourist areas. Then, pack up and head home. The 3-day itinerary is well-paced, covering primitive canyons, waterfalls, tea fields, and Yi ancient temples. It avoids crowded tourist spots, making for a relaxed and comfortable early autumn trip. 2️⃣ Transportation guide🚞 Visitors from out of town can take a high-speed train directly to Yuxi Station; it's a 30-minute ride from Kunming. · Self-driving is preferred: Attractions in Ailao Mountain, Eshan, and Tonghai are far apart. There are many curves on the mountain roads, but the road conditions are good. Most scenic spots offer free parking, and it offers the most freedom. · Public transport: Taxis are convenient in the city. For trips to Ailao Mountain and Eshan, you can carpool to save time. · The mountain roads in Ailao Mountain have many curves. Try to travel during the day; driving on mountain roads at night is not recommended. 3️⃣ Honest accommodation review🏨 Accommodation location: Boutique hotels around Nie Er Square in Hongta District Price for September–October: 170–230 yuan/night Highlights: Located in the city center, close to many supermarkets and restaurants, and not far from Qinghua Street and the Former Residence of Nie Er. The rooms are clean, well-ventilated, and have good soundproofing. It's quiet and livable at night, and dining and transportation are very convenient, so there's no need to stay in remote mountain areas. 4️⃣ Autumn travel tips to avoid pitfalls⚠️ 1. In September–October, the temperature difference between day and night on the Yuxi plateau is large. The sun is strong during the day, but it's cool in the mountains in the morning and evening. Bring a light jacket. The plateau UV rays are strong, so be sure to use sun protection. 2. The Ailao Mountain canyon trails are damp and mossy. Be sure to wear non-slip sports shoes and do not wander onto undeveloped wild paths. 3. Local food is mostly sour and spicy. If you don't eat spicy food, make a note when ordering for "mild" or "no spice." 4. Some attractions in Ailao Mountain require a package ticket. Buy tickets online in advance and do not trust roadside guides who charge for leading the way. 5. Museums are closed on Mondays. Check opening hours before you go to avoid a wasted trip. 6. There are many mosquitoes in the forests, so carry mosquito repellent. Mobile phone signals are weak in some mountain areas, so download offline maps in advance.

🌿 Eshan | Yuxi, Yunnan | Summer getaway · A hidden gem of the Yi people Everyone, listen up!! Yunnan isn't just about Dali and Lijiang. This time, I discovered a hidden gem of a county that's only an hour and a half from Kunming—Eshan Yi Autonomous County. This is the first Yi autonomous county in the People's Republic of China. The average summer temperature is around 20°C. I went straight from a 38°C furnace of a city into this green basin, and the difference in how it felt was so huge it made me want to cry 😭 🗺️ My 2-day itinerary Day 1 → Xie'e Ancient Town → Jinping Mountain → Stroll through the Lotus Pond Night Market Day 2 → Tea picking at Yuncha Manor → Bamboo Sea in Yiren Valley → Return trip No rushing, no marathon walking, just a purely relaxed vacation vibe ✌️ 🏮 Xie'e Ancient Town—not your typical cookie-cutter commercial town Honestly, I didn't have high expectations before I went, but I was proven wrong. This ancient town was rebuilt after the renovation of the old urban area. It retains the yellow walls and gray tiles characteristic of Yi architecture, while the streets are interspersed with modern art pieces like heart-shaped bamboo weaving installations and red drum sculptures, making it super photogenic. My favorites were the Intangible Cultural Heritage Exhibition Hall and the Eshan Museum, which are combined into one complex and are free to visit! They display Yi embroidery, flower drum dance props, models of the Torch Festival's sacred fire altar... I felt like I had so much more to talk about after walking through it, haha. 📌 Tip: It's best to go around 6 or 7 PM. The moment the lanterns light up, the atmosphere of the whole street is just perfect. ⛰️ Jinping Mountain—a natural green lung right next to the county town This mountain is only 1.5 km from the county town, so you can walk there! It's not very high, with the peak at over 1,800 meters, but the vegetation coverage is over 90%. It's all Yunnan pine and Armand pine. Walking on the forest trails, with a thick layer of pine needles underfoot, it feels soft, and the air is filled with the fresh scent of pine resin. There's a Crescent Pond on the mountain, a naturally formed half-moon-shaped pond with emerald green water. Stone railings and resting platforms are set up nearby. I sat there for a long time, not thinking about anything, just listening to the wind passing through the treetops. There are also check-in spots like the Immortal Cave and the Sea of Clouds Pavilion. If you have the energy, you can visit them all; if not, just walking to the Crescent Pond and back is totally worth it. 🍵 Yuncha Manor—a tea plantation surrounded by 500,000 mu of primeval forest I headed straight to Yuncha Manor early the next morning, and I have to rave about this place! The entire tea plantation is embedded in the primeval forest, with an incredibly open view. In the distance are rolling green mountains, and nearby are neat rows of tea trees. The air is moist and sweet. You can experience tea picking and processing! Put on a small bamboo basket, follow the tea farmers to learn how to pluck one bud and two leaves, then hand-process it—killing the green, rolling, and drying—and finally take home the tea you made yourself. This experience is absolutely amazing. I also learned a fun fact here: Eshan's high-aroma tea is actually quite famous in the Yunnan tea circle, but because the production volume isn't large, people from other provinces don't know much about it. 🎋 Bamboo Sea in Yiren Valley—a filming location for a Yunnan-style martial arts movie I went to Yiren Valley in the afternoon. Vast stretches of moso bamboo forests cover the valley. When the wind blows, the bamboo leaves rustle, and light and shadow leak through the bamboo gaps. It feels like walking onto the set of "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon." There are trails under the bamboo forest for a leisurely walk, and you can even experience digging for bamboo shoots! Holding a hoe and digging in the soft red soil, the sense of accomplishment when you dig one out is off the charts. When you're tired from walking, sit in a bamboo pavilion and drink a cup of bamboo leaf tea. It's cool and refreshing, and the summer heat dissipates in a second. 🌙 About Eshan at night I took a stroll through the Lotus Pond Night Market in the evening. The summer nights in Eshan have gentle breezes. On the side of the street, Yi ladies were dancing the flower drum dance, and tourists could join in. Although my dance steps were a mess, it was really fun, hahaha. If you happen to be there for the Torch Festival in August, it's even more incredible! Drilling wood to make fire, the sacred fire relay, thousands of people group dancing, drone shows... the whole county is in a carnival. It's the most vibrant festival scene I've ever seen. 🏡 Accommodation experience I chose a mountain cabin with a courtyard near the ancient town. Pushing open the window, I could see the layered rooftops and the silhouette of the distant green mountains. The room was decorated with many Yi elements, with handmade embroidery hanging on the walls. The bedding was clean and soft. At night, it was so quiet that I could only hear the insects chirping. I haven't felt that kind of happiness of waking up naturally after a good night's sleep in a long time. 💡 Practical tips summary Drive from Kunming via the Kunming-Mohan Expressway; it's a direct 1.5-hour drive, and the road conditions are great the whole way Jinping Mountain and Xie'e Ancient Town are free to enter; Yuncha Manor and the Bamboo Sea in Yiren Valley require tickets There is a lot of rain in summer, so carry an umbrella with you. The bamboo sea and tea mountains are even more ethereal after the rain It is recommended to arrange at least two days and one night for a comfortable, unhurried pace ✨ Eshan is truly the kind of place you want to visit again after going once. It's not noisy or chaotic, just quietly beautiful. It's the most pleasant surprise of my summer this year!
The Yuxi Red Pagoda is located on Hongta Mountain in the east of Hongta District, Yuxi City, Yunnan Province. It was originally a white pagoda built in the Yuan Dynasty. It was rebuilt in 1839 (the 19th year of the Daoguang reign of the Qing Dynasty). In 1959, it was repainted and renamed the Red Pagoda. Since then, the white pagoda has been renamed the Red Pagoda, and the mountain where the pagoda is located has also been renamed Hongta Mountain.
最美不过蓝天Yingyuetan Hot Spring is really good. Due to the epidemic, there are not many people, so you can enjoy it. Beautiful environment
larfhsuThe hot spring water of Yuxi Yingyuetan Lake originates from more than 2,000 meters underground, with a water temperature of 51°C. The spring water is rich in fluorine, radium, strontium, calcium and other minerals, meeting or exceeding the national medical mineral water standards. It is a precious composite medical mineral spring that has many functions such as promoting human metabolism, enhancing immunity, removing swelling and toxins, moisturizing the skin and driving away diseases.
chueng526Overall, it is good. The air is very good and there is a lot of bamboo. There are some good facilities, which are suitable for outdoor hiking activities. Go into nature and relax yourself. You can camp and do activities.
Anonymous userI recommend starting your hike from Xishan Park, then taking the cable car from the Longmen Grottoes entrance to Haigeng Dam. (The reverse route, starting from Haigeng Dam, is easier and I suggest going in the morning.) I don't recommend visiting the Longmen Grottoes.
一木亦善Although the park is very large, you can see many kinds of exotic flowers and trees without taking a sightseeing bus. However, the ticket prices for sightseeing buses in various scenic spots in Xishuangbanna are generally high, which is why this trip was not a pleasant experience.
平常心19700506As the former royal garden of the Dai kings, this place combines the atmosphere of a royal garden with lush tropical greenery. The garden has a high tree coverage, making it cool and pleasant to walk around in, perfect for a leisurely half-day stroll with family or friends. There are regular performances within the garden, and I was fortunate enough to catch the "Dai King's Parade," which was quite atmospheric.
xiao🦌 幸运The standard currency in Eshan is CNY
Current exchange rate approx.: SAR ≈1.8CNY (actual exchange rates depend on the bank). Currency exchange tips:
1. Exchange currency at your local bank before departure, as rates are usually better than at the destination.
2. You can also withdraw cash from local ATMs.
3. Avoid exchanging currency at airports or hotels, as they offer the worst rates.
