GGuest User: The hotel elevator is very vintage; it was my first time riding such an old-fashioned lift. The hotel is located in an alley, making it not particularly easy to find late at night. Once we finally found it, our family was the only one checking in, yet we waited for about 20 minutes just to get our room cards. I'm not sure why we were left hanging there waiting for a room at 9 PM... Also, the pillows and bed were uncomfortable; the pillows felt all lumpy.

Llalasong: Overall, a great hotel! The location is excellent – it's a 10-minute walk to the station or a 5-minute taxi ride, and there's a shopping street right downstairs. You can also walk to the beach in 10 minutes. The first night, we made a last-minute booking for a superior king room and a standard large room (212 and 411). There was a 100 RMB price difference, but I'm not sure why the 'better' room actually had a smaller bed. It was unclear which one was more expensive. The following three nights, we had pre-booked a superior triple room. We wanted to extend our stay in the existing rooms but were told it would cost an extra 600+ Euros, which seemed baffling since the two rooms combined cost 2600 RMB, less than one night in the 3000+ RMB superior triple. The front desk even suggested we switch to room 208, saying it was the best – a quad room – but that would have cost an additional 90+ Euros for three nights. We looked at it and thought it was just okay, so we didn't switch. When we checked in that afternoon, we were given room 106, which turned out to be quite good! It had a partition between the king bed and the sofa bed, and the bathroom had a separate wet and dry area. Glad we didn't switch! I won't post many photos as they look just like the official ones.

GGuest User: We stayed for 3 nights, good service and breakfast, dont expect too much but its the essentials you need to get you started each day. Location is convenient to get into Old Town and local transportation. Lacking in some amenities in the room such as a kettle, storage space and hair conditioner, otherwise good price for a basic hotel.

RRaya.Z: The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful, arranging an early check-in for us. However, the room was quite small and didn't come with any toiletries or slippers, which made it feel more like a budget hotel. With two large suitcases, space was a real issue. Parking nearby was also a challenge due to the high volume of cars. On the upside, it was convenient for sightseeing, with many attractions within walking distance.

GGuest User: Great location. Parking is either on the street for a maximum of 2 hours, or in the parking garage around the corner for €25 for 24 hours. The service was top-notch. We received a room upgrade on arrival, which included breakfast. Luggage storage was also no problem. The hotel is very nice and clean, and all the staff were friendly. The breakfast selection was excellent; there was something for everyone (even gluten-free options).

Day 4 The weather cooperated today, and it finally cleared up Today we're heading to Wuzhizhou Island After a day of exploring, I personally prefer Wuzhizhou Island Even casual photos turn out great ✔️6 stops 1. Ocean Star (first stop): cliffside sea views, a panoramic view of the heart-shaped islet, the popular railing and coconut weather sign, the best photo spot on the island. There's a new fruit stall photo spot, but we didn't want to climb up at the time 2. Sunrise Rock (highest point): 360° layered, glassy sea, the golden turtle reef formation, an excellent spot to watch the sunrise 3. Lover's Valley + Rainforest pet park: tropical rainforest boardwalk where you can see kangaroos and land tortoises, great for nature-style photos 4. Lover's Island: shallow, jelly-like waters; at low tide you can hunt for shells, the water is the clearest. There's a popular fruit stall but the line was too long so we didn't shoot there. The natural reef offers many photo spots, though you'll have to queue for them 5. Private custom beach: a film location with white tents, a pool, and flamingos, a popular white-sand beach 6. Lover's Bridge + seaside bathing area: play in the shallows, swim, or lounge on the beach. We rested and had lunch here at noon ✔️Seven precise photo spots in the French Riviera 📍Nice — the beach opposite the island photo studio 📍Monaco — the red lighthouse 📍Cannes — Coral Hotel lobby 📍Marseille — Ocean Star 📍Grasse — next to the kangaroos in the Rainforest pet park 📍Menton — next to the fruit stall on Lover's Island 📍Saint-Tropez — the beach opposite the seaside villa 📍 Address: Haitang District, Sanya. Navigate to Wuzhizhou Island Passenger Terminal (opposite Houhai Village) ⏰Boat schedule: · Boarding: 8:30 AM–4:00 PM (ticket checks stop at 4:00 PM; late arrivals cannot board) · Return: 9:00 AM–7:30 PM. Last boat at 7:30 PM; if you miss it you'll have to stay at the Coral Hotel on the island · Boat ride: 15–20 minutes. Rough seas can cause seasickness, so sit at the rear, take motion sickness medicine in advance, and avoid using your phone 🎫Admission + round-trip boat ticket about CNY 133; buy in advance. Student ticket CNY 68 🚗Island shuttle electric car ✅Top pick: CNY 138 City Walk hop-on, hop-off (6 stops for free boarding and alighting). It covers the key back-mountain attractions; you can't reach the protected areas by walking alone ❌Not recommended: CNY 60 sightseeing ticket, you cannot get off for the entire route, it's just a ride so you can't take photos or check in at spots

The romance of the South of France is always captivating. Discovering this dream hotel on Cap d'Antibes was the highlight of my entire trip. The hotel is located on Cap d'Antibes, in the heart of the French Riviera, with a prime location. It is close to Antibes Old Town and the Picasso Museum, and it is very convenient to drive to Nice and Cannes. Located in the popular French Riviera, it enjoys a unique tranquility, serving as a perfect sanctuary amidst the bustle. The architecture features a sleek, high-end minimalist geometric style, full of artistic design. The guest rooms are spacious and grand, each equipped with a terrace or a small private garden. Pushing open the door, the clear Mediterranean sea view greets you with a soothing, crystal-clear blue. What is even more surprising is the hotel's rich artistic atmosphere. The public areas display original works by Hockney and Matisse, making a stay here feel like visiting a private art gallery by the sea. Enjoy a private beach with lounge chairs neatly arranged. You don't have to do anything—just lounge on the beach chairs, feel the sea breeze, watch the sea, and spend the whole day. This is the perfect way to experience a South of France vacation. The hotel is extremely pet-friendly. You can bring your dog along for a seaside vacation and enjoy the Mediterranean sunset together. Guests can also borrow e-bikes for free to ride leisurely to Antibes Old Town or the town of Juan-les-Pins. Riding in the sea breeze in the morning and waiting for the sunset to dye the sea orange-gold in the evening perfectly sets the mood for the coastal scenery. Escape the city's hustle and bustle, accompanied by sea views, art, and beaches, and embrace all the relaxation and romance of the South of France.

It wasn't until I visited Menton that I realized the most photogenic spot in the entire old town is this 99-step, lemon-yellow, zigzag staircase—Escaliers Saint-Michel. However, many people end up with photos of "stairs + crowds." Below, I've broken down the best photo spots, timing, outfits, and routes. Just follow this guide👇 📍 How to get there Take the TER train from Nice (about 30–40 minutes) to Menton station. Walk toward the sea until you see Les Sablettes beach; the yellow stairs are on the edge of the old town. Alternatively, you can take the train to Menton Garavan station, walk along the coast, pass the iconic Menton photo spot, and then walk to the bottom of the stairs. 📸 Photo spots (just remember these 3) Spot 1: Wide-angle low-angle shot from across the street (most photogenic) Stand on the street directly opposite the stairs. A wide-angle lens can capture the yellow stairs, colorful buildings, and the Mediterranean Sea all in one frame. This is where the celebrity-style shots are taken. Spot 2: Middle of the stairs, for geometric lines Climb up and turn around to shoot. The zigzag structure creates natural geometric lines in the frame, which looks very artistic. Spot 3: Top of the stairs, with the church in the foreground At the top is the Basilica of Saint-Michel. The lemon-yellow facade paired with the Baroque style makes for a great backdrop. Shoot downwards with the church in the background for maximum atmosphere. ⏰ Best time to go 9:00–11:00 AM. The light is soft and not harsh, and the tour groups haven't arrived yet, so you can get shots with almost no one around. It gets very crowded in the afternoon, especially with everyone lining up on the stairs to take photos, making it much harder to get a good shot. 👗 What to wear The background consists of yellow buildings and a blue sky. White is the safest choice, but you can also wear light yellow, light blue, or floral dresses. A long white dress paired with red shoes is very eye-catching. 🥾 Don't leave right after climbing At the top of the stairs is the square of the Basilica of Saint-Michel. If you continue walking to the right for another 20–30 minutes, you can reach the Old Château Cemetery viewpoint. It offers a 360° panoramic view of Menton and a distant view of the Italian border. This is the true highlight of the entire route. 🍋 Where to eat along the way After climbing down, walk along Rue Saint-Michel, which is lined with lemon-themed shops. Recommendations: · La Tarte Mentonnaise: Signature lemon tart, perfectly balanced sweet and sour, with a very crispy crust. · MITRON Bakery: A bakery brand opened by three-Michelin-starred chef Mauro Colagreco. Many consider their lemon tart to be one of the best in the South of France. ⏰ Suggested itinerary 9:00 AM: Arrive at the bottom of the stairs → 9:30 AM: Shoot from the opposite side → 10:00 AM: Climb the stairs + shoot from the middle → 10:30 AM: Church square → 11:00 AM: Continue up to the cemetery viewpoint → 11:30 AM: Head down and walk along Rue Saint-Michel for a lemon tart. 📌 In a nutshell Go between 9:00 and 11:00 AM, use a wide-angle lens from across the street for full-body shots, and wear white for the best photos. Don't just take photos of the stairs and leave; the cemetery viewpoint at the top is the hidden gem.

🏷️ An architect bought a swamp and built a "Venice of Provence" South of France · Port Grimaud 🕰️ Built in 1966, a "fairytale water city" that's not even 60 years old yet 🌊 It's not Venice, but it's quieter than Venice Let me start with a number: 2,500 houses, almost every one of which is on the water. You read that right. This isn't an ancient ruin, nor did it grow naturally like a medieval fishing village—it's a blueprint drawn from scratch by an architect after he bought a salt marsh in 1962. His name was François Spoerry, and he wanted to build a "Venice of Provence" on the French Riviera. 🤩 And he actually did it. 🏗️ From swamp to 12 islands ⭐ Construction began in 1966, and it took shape by 1972. 🎈 Spoerry designed 12 islands, 14 bridges, and 6 kilometers of navigable canals. Every household has a boat parked at their door—you don't take the road to go out, you take the water. 🤔 Can you imagine? Cars are prohibited in this town. 🔇 No engine noise, no honking—only the sound of boats gliding across the water and the wind blowing against the colorful house walls. 🎨 Every house is like a painter's palette The architecture of Port Grimaud isn't "copy and paste." Ochre, pink, warm yellow, pale blue, mint green—rows of Provençal-style houses line the canals, as if someone painted them on slowly with a brush. This isn't a historical site, but it was awarded the "20th Century Heritage" title by the French Ministry of Culture. Because it's one of the few modern water city utopias in architectural history that was fully realized. 😍 🛶 Here are three things I highly recommend you do ⭐ First, rent an electric boat 🚤 No license or experience required, €25/30 mins. As you steer the boat deep into the canals, the private gardens and docks on both banks slowly drift past you. That kind of quiet is something you'll never find in Nice or Cannes. ⭐ Second, climb the 78 steps of the church ⛪. The top of the Saint-François-d'Assise church tower is the only high point from which to overlook all of Port Grimaud. The canals look like a blue net spread between the ochre roofs, with the Gulf of Saint-Tropez in the distance. ⭐ Third, catch a Thursday or Sunday morning market. Provençal markets never disappoint. Olives, honey, lavender, fresh cheese—buy some and sit by the canal to eat. This is life in the south of France. 📸 Don't rush, don't just check it off your list 🎈 Port Grimaud isn't big; you can walk through it in half a day, but it's not meant to be "finished." It's meant for sitting by the canal, drinking a glass of rosé 🍷, watching boats slowly pass by, and daydreaming until the sun goes down. If you're also tired of the hustle and bustle of the French Riviera 🌊, you'll definitely love it here. Because it's not Venice, but it's quieter, slower, and more like a dream. 📌 Practical tips Location: 7 km west of Saint-Tropez, 15-minute drive 🚗 Transportation: Private car or self-drive. There is a large parking lot outside the town 🚫 No cars: Cars are prohibited inside the town, so feel free to walk 🛶 Boat rental: €25/30 mins, no license required ⏰ Best time to visit: May–June / September–October 🎯 Suggested route: Marseille > Saint-Tropez > Port Grimaud > Nice 🎵 Music recommendation If you're looking for a song to accompany this place, I recommend "Experience" by Ludovico Einaudi. It's not an Italian folk song or a French chanson, but a piano piece that flows slowly like water. It won't "tell" the story of Port Grimaud, but it will make Port Grimaud come alive before your eyes.

Hôtel du Couvent, tucked away at the base of Castle Hill in the Old Town where you'll find the most iconic views of Nice. The moment you step inside, you are enveloped by a profound sense of serenity. Restored from a 17th-century monastery, the hotel preserves the historic charm of its original cloisters and courtyards. During its time as a monastery, the vast grounds were used to cultivate medicinal herbs, serving as the local apothecary🌿 The hotel continues this tradition today, growing herbs on-site and offering custom blends at their own herbal pharmacy. Dining at the restaurant features farm-to-table organic produce from their own farm. Combined with the tranquil atmosphere, the entire stay felt like a purification for both mind and body. Antique furniture is set against a palette of soft neutral tones, complemented by the high, vaulted ceilings typical of a monastery. It’s the kind of place where your sense of time simply begins to fade away. Despite the hustle and bustle of Nice's Old Town, stepping inside feels like entering a different world. It was a magnificent stay, offering a perfect escape from reality. I’ll share more about the breakfast, the pool, and the architecture in a later post. · 📍Hôtel du Couvent You can use the hotel’s shuttle service from the entrance of Nice Old Town. Zipping through the narrow, cobbled alleys where cars can't pass in their shuttle cart felt like a fun little ride! · Hotel

Save a day for Nice when visiting the South of France🌊. Nice isn’t a city to rush through checking off sights. Climb Castle Hill to see the sea, get lost in the old town, stroll along the Promenade des Anglais, relax at the market—these moments are the true meaning of coming to Nice 🚶🏻One-day city walk route: Place Masséna ➡️ Nice old town ➡️ Cours Saleya market ➡️ Castle Hill ➡️ Promenade des Anglais ➡️ blue chair landmark ➡️ Baie des Anges blue beach 🚃Transportation: Plane: Nice Côte d’Azur Airport (NCE) is France’s second largest airport, with direct flights from many European countries. Train: Nice train station (Gare de Nice-Ville) connects to Paris (TGV about 5–6 hours), Marseille (2.5 hours), and Monaco (30 minutes). Local transport: Tramway: 3 lines covering main attractions. Bus: Route 81 goes to Èze, route 100 goes to Monaco.

🇫🇷🇲🇨 Discover another country you can visit from Nice without a passport, plus a colorful, charming town. After hopping on a train from Nice, my first stop was Villefranche-sur-Mer. This small port town is filled with blooming flowers, crystal-clear water, and vibrant buildings—it was so picturesque I couldn't stop snapping photos. It's compact and easy to explore, and I loved wandering through its narrow alleys ♪ After Villefranche, I took the train straight to Monaco. Believe it or not, Monaco is the world’s second-smallest country and is only about 20 minutes from Nice. 🇲🇨 There are no border controls between France and Monaco, so it was amazing to cross into another country just by riding the train ✨ One thing to watch out for: my ahamo and Rakuten Mobile service barely worked in Monaco, making it tough to look anything up on my phone 😂 If you’re planning to go, I highly recommend downloading offline maps beforehand. These two spots have completely different vibes and are incredibly easy to visit from Nice. I definitely recommend adding both to your South of France itinerary! 🇫🇷🇲🇨✨

Nice's Old Town is truly charming! The intricate network of alleyways feels like an adventure. Brightly colored houses line both sides, along with various interesting shops and delicious restaurants. Here, you can experience a rich Southern European atmosphere; it's incredibly romantic and perfect for a leisurely stroll and enjoying a relaxing time.

The sand on the beach is fine and soft, and the water is crystal clear, making it an excellent choice for strolling or swimming. The beachfront facilities are also excellent, with a variety of restaurants and leisure amenities, allowing you to enjoy the natural beauty while fulfilling all your daily needs.

Anonymous userThis is truly the soul of the French Riviera! The wide promenade stretches along the Mediterranean coast, with jewel-like blue waters on one side and elegant palm trees and softly colored buildings on the other. Whether you're jogging, cycling, or simply relaxing in the afternoon watching the waves wash over the shore, you're enveloped in the languid romance of southern France. It's especially enchanting at dusk, when the sunset paints the sky pink and purple, and the strolling crowds and street musicians create a vibrant scene – this is the very essence of Mediterranean leisure!
YoYo_0T9A3B0LThe botanical garden on the top of the hill in the town of Eze was once a castle. It was destroyed by Louis XIV's army during the Spanish War in 1706, and the ruins of the castle became the current botanical garden. In the exotic botanical garden, hundreds of exotic plants are gathered, including: agave, aloe, cactus, etc. There are more than 400 varieties in total, mainly from America and Africa. In addition to these exotic flowers and plants, there are also many sculptures by French sculptor Jean Richard Philips.
老二连The Hill of Castle is the highest point in Nice's Old Town, offering stunning panoramic views of Nice and the French Riviera. The park also contains ancient Roman ruins, adding to its historical atmosphere. You can climb stairs or take an elevator to reach the top. There are also waterfalls and small gardens; it's especially beautiful at sunset and definitely worth a visit.
YoYo_0T9A3B0LLocated on a hill outside Nice, the town of Saint-Paul-de-Vence is a traditional French castle. Galleries, art galleries, and studios can be found everywhere in the town, which is full of artistic atmosphere, quiet and elegant.
suifeng2019The Chagall Museum is excellent, housing a vast collection of Chagall's works. The colors are vibrant and captivating. The 17 paintings depicting biblical themes, in particular, are incredibly ingenious. The museum's environment is also beautiful, surrounded by gardens, making it feel like an art garden. Free audio guides in Chinese are available, allowing for a better understanding of the works. It's definitely worth a visit. Below are some images related to the Chagall Museum:
YoYo_0T9A3B0LIn summer, come to the lotus pond to pick lotus pods. A wooden boardwalk has been built, allowing you to walk directly to the middle of the pond and pick the lotus pods without stepping in the mud. The large pods are within easy reach. Freshly picked lotus seeds are tender, white, sweet, and crisp; a bite is refreshingly sweet and not greasy. They're sold by weight, cheaper than at the market. Sitting by the boardwalk, slowly peeling them, the cool breeze blowing from the pond is delightful. They taste better than store-bought lotus seeds. Spending a leisurely afternoon there leaves you feeling refreshed, even your breath is filled with the fragrance of lotus blossoms.
绿发货人The colorful houses are also a beautiful scenery. It is close to the seaside and there are many small boats for sightseeing. The roads are full of tourists. It is very lively during the tourist season. Many of the hotels here are also worth visiting.

The standard currency in Nice is EUR
Current exchange rate approx.: INR ≈0.009EUR (actual exchange rates depend on the bank). Currency exchange tips:
1. Exchange currency at your local bank before departure, as rates are usually better than at the destination.
