Great Location and Very Helpful Owner I stayed here for 2 nights and had a really good experience. One of the things that surprised me the most was the location. Before coming to Wulingyuan, I expected the area to be quiet and more like a countryside or rural area. But this hotel is actually in a lively area with lots of shops, restaurants, and places to eat, right along the main road. It is also very convenient for travelers visiting the attractions. There are bus stops just a few steps from the hotel, including buses going to Huanglong Cave and the Grand Canyon, and the Wulingyuan Bus Station is about a 12-minute walk away. The hotel also has an elevator, which was a nice convenience. The owner/staff was also very kind and helpful. He can speak a little English, which made communication easier. He even helped me book discounted tickets for Huanglong Cave, Zhangjiajie National Park, and Tianmen Mountain, which I really appreciated. They also allowed me to leave my luggage at the hotel even after check-out, which was very convenient. There were only a couple of minor things that could be improved. The bathroom tiles could use some replacement or renovation, and the window could also use a little more cleaning. But these were minor issues and did not really affect my overall stay. Overall, I really liked staying here. The location was much more convenient and lively than I expected, the owner was very helpful, and having easy access to transportation, restaurants, and shops made my 2-night stay comfortable. Definitely a good option if you're staying in Wulingyuan, especially if you're visiting Zhangjiajie National Park and the surrounding attractions.

[Parks info below] I'm glad that I checked out this hostel, good value for money. Room was nice and tidy, lots of electricity sources in bed and common area, curtains, hot shower. I shared the 6 beds dorm with just another girl, and you make your own bed. No toilet paper, no free water refill, no light in bed. It's worth the price. If you extend your stay directly in the hostel it's cheaper than the app. The reception area is more cramped but you can socialize there. Most of the people are Chinese but I also met some foreigners. The guy in the reception speaks English and can give you information, in addition to that I recommend you to do your own research. There are two baby cats playing around, and an adult one. You can get to the hostel from the west railway station by bus line 17 for 2 yuan - last bus at 8:40pm + 15 minutes walk. Location is close to the main avenue where there's a lot of restaurants, and a 24-hour convenience store close to the corner with this same avenue. There are two night markets in the city, one on the avenue like 10 min distance walking to downtown direction, more local, and another one on the street in front of the tianmen mountain cable car, more touristy. The hostel is 15 minutes walking to the central bus station where you can get the bus to zhangjiajie park and 15-20 to the tianmen mountain cable car station. [ATTRACTIONS] Zhangjiajie (avatar), tianmen (heaven's gate) and canyon (glass bridge) are 3 different parks in different locations. The entrance to zhangjiajie gives you access for 4 days. I went the 4 days and enjoyed it very properly. If you're short on time, 2 days will do, but plan it wisely based on your priorities. Gates are 1 hour trip distance from the central bus station - 1h30 at weekends. Also, note that before entering the park with passport and face scan, you need to do an APPOINTMENT for that hour. You usually do it there at the gate, but for a saturday all appointments for that hour were sold out in advance and I had to wait for 45 minutes to go in. Recommended to check in advance especially on weekends. There are 2 types of tickets you can get: including all cable cars and elevator for unlimited time for 450 yuan; or just the entrance (including only free shuttles) for 215 yuan - you still have the option of buying each transport at the park (75 yuan cablecar one-way, 65 elevator one-way). At first, I had understood that to see the avatar mountains, the ONLY way was through the elevator, so I bought the all-inclusive. Turns out you CAN go by free shuttle + hike + free shuttle if you start in the east gate. My favorite part was the huangshi village. For tianmen, the entrance is 260 yuan. Choose the route in advance because some sell out fast. Gold advice: go at least one hour or more BEFORE the hour that you have the tickets for. The hour of your ticket just matters before the very last point before boarding the cable car. The line was MASSIVE and it took me 2h30 waiting on a Monday - ended up getting in 2 hours late than my ticket time and couldn't finish the whole loop: took only the red trail and went down to the heaven's gate. About the Canyon, I can't say much because I decided to skip it and save the 210 yuan ticket - note that this price DOESN'T include the activities, you must pay separately. The package that includes almost* everything is 360 yuan. Last but not least, if you go to the 72 Wonders, there's also an entrance of 88 yuan. You can go/come back with the bus 17 - same line that serves to the west railway station, last bus 8:40pm.

I had the most amazing stay here! The location was incredible and the staff were amazing and so kind! On arrival, she sat me down and drew out my route for the park, detailing how long each would take, how long the shuttles were, and how long the entire day would take door to door. She’s got it to an exact science and not a thing was wrong! I had the most amazing time in the park and was so relaxed following her directions. She also gave incredible food recommendations in the area and assisted me with any queries I had. I had a minor injury and she kindly walked me to the chemist and assisted in translating what I needed. This was one of the best stays of my trip! I cannot recommend this inn enough either as a solo traveller or in a pair/group. 10000/10 experience overall.

Best hotel ever. 1. The room was big, comfortable and clean. The bed was also comfortable. 2. Amazing view (see photo attached)! 😍 3. The staff was very kind and helpful. The receptionist organized our 3 day trip free of charge and he did an amazing job (fast entries, not too crowded, everything was smooth), he saved us a lot of time and even explained the plan perfectly. They were available on wechat and replied very fast 😁 4. We destroyed our hair dryer and they gave us a new one without making us feel bad or even compensate for it. 5. The location is amazing, near the river, center of a city and even park entry (10-15 min walk) Do not hesitate and stay here ☺️

An excellent stay! The owner is honest and the proprietress is very warm-hearted. They provided incredibly helpful itinerary suggestions, allowing us to plan our two-day visit to the Wulingyuan Scenic Area perfectly. We initially booked one night and then extended our stay for another. When we checked out, the proprietress gave us two cans of mulberry tea, which was delicious and helped with digestion. It's clear they are a couple who run their business with great dedication. Thank you!

The city view king room exceeded my expectations! The room was clean and tidy, the bedding was soft and incredibly comfortable. The floor-to-ceiling windows offered an amazing city view, and the night scenery in the evening was particularly beautiful. The front desk staff were warm and attentive, and the location is convenient, quiet, and not noisy. It offers great value for money, and I'll definitely choose this hotel again next time! And the front desk lady was truly super nice!!

Beautiful location, disappointing stay The location of this guesthouse is excellent, right in the center of Dehang Miao Village, with a lovely view of the river that runs through the village. The village itself is very charming and picturesque, and the setting could not be better. Unfortunately, our experience with the accommodation was not as positive. Compared with other places where we stayed during our trip in China, the room was not particularly clean. There were hairs on the bathroom floor and dead insects, which may have entered through the window after cleaning, but they were still there when we arrived. Our room was on the top floor, where renovation work was apparently still ongoing. Water was dripping from the ceiling directly above one of the beds. The owners had placed adhesive tape around the ceiling light where the water was leaking, which looked quite unsafe and raised concerns about a possible electrical short circuit. The larger double bed had an extremely hard mattress, making it uncomfortable to sleep on. The air conditioning unit was positioned so that the airflow blew directly onto the bed. However, turning it off was not really an option because the room quickly became hot and humid. The owner was kind enough to pick us up and drive us back to the village entrance with his car, which we appreciated. We had also asked about breakfast for the following morning. We were initially told to wait until the next day because the owner’s wife was not available. The following morning she kindly offered to prepare breakfast for us, but unfortunately we had already planned to leave early. Communication was difficult because the only way to contact the property was by telephone. As we do not speak Chinese, we had to ask the receptionist at our previous hotel to call on our behalf. What disappointed us most was the complete lack of information provided about the village. Nobody explained what there was to see or do, nor did they provide any information about Miao culture, local traditions, or typical dishes. We discovered by chance that there was an afternoon performance taking place in the village, and we found the trail to the waterfall only after searching online ourselves. Despite the positive reviews, our stay did not meet expectations, and we would not choose this property again. On a positive note, we had an excellent meal at the restaurant in the main square, the one with the hanging corn cobs and fans outside. The two ladies working there were incredibly kind and welcoming, and the food was among the best we had during our visit.

Highly recommended!!! This homestay is located closer to South Gate of the National Park which I believe provides nicer views with much fewer crowds then the main East Gate. The room we stayed at was warmly decorated with everything you need. Shower was comfortable and it was quiet at night to sleep. We woke up to the sound of country birdsong and farm rooster, then looking out to beautiful mountain views and wildflowers blooming with crisp fresh air. The pick-up and drop off services made the whole trip so much smoother and saved us lots of time and money. The owner was super kind and helpful with planning itinerary around weather and purchasing discounted tickets for us. We managed to tick our whole list for Zhangjiajie and are extremely happy. Oh and did I mention the home-cooked farm dishes. They are sooo delicious with the freshest ingredients, at very reasonable prices for a touristy area. Must try the homemade sausages and barbecue! To be fair all of the other dishes were incredible too so you can't go wrong. They were so yummy and satisfying after a long day of hiking and adventures. If you want an true authentic local experience at great value, dont hesitate and book this place. The owner running this place is kind, attentive and most importantly trustworthy. The environment is excellent; you can enjoy mountain views of the forest park right from your room's window, which is just as good as being inside the scenic area itself. The peaks are spectacular, and the room's decor is very unique. The price is extremely affordable, making it highly recommended for a stay. The host is also very welcoming and enthusiastic. There are free maps available in the lobby, and they can even guide you on touring routes, which is very thoughtful.

The hotel boss is very friendly and proactive. We checked in late at night and she waited for us till we were set. Moreover, she gifted us soy milk and free water. When we wanted to go to the national park. She helped us arrange a taxi ride that was as early as 06:30 am and the driver was waiting for us even before then.
