2-Star Hotels in Yunnan, China

Stayed here for 2 nights, but in two different rooms, so I got to experience both. Overall, the hotel has a great view and a generally comfortable stay. It is a bit far from most main attractions, although it is relatively close to the railway station. There is a nearby bus station (Line 6), but getting to the Ancient Town and other popular areas is still quite far, so using Didi is often the easier option. The lobby also provides tea, coffee, and water, which is a nice touch. My first room was on the 2nd floor and felt very modern and new. The bed was especially comfortable, and everything felt fresh and well-designed — I really liked this room. My second room was on the 5th floor, and there is no lift in the building, so carrying luggage up the stairs can be quite tiring. The staff kindly helped me, which I really appreciated, especially since it was quite a lot of effort. This room had a nice view, but it felt a bit older compared to the first one, especially the bathroom. If I had to choose, I personally preferred the first room for its newer feel and comfort, but both stays were still pleasant in different ways.

I had the most beautiful stay in Jianshui. The hotel was clean, bright and very comfortable. The hospitality was fantastic, which as a solo traveller I was very grateful for. I was given tea and fruit on arrival and the laoban introduced me to all the key spots in Jianshui and sent me recommendations of food spots too. I was given a delicious breakfast with some of the best congee I've had in China! I really felt at home. The location is fantastic, right in the old town on a beautiful side street with a peaceful quaint atmosphere. The hotel also organised a taxi to take me onto my next destination - thank you both for a wonderful stay. I cannot recommend this hotel enough!

I booked this hotel because I had an early flight, and its proximity to the airport, coupled with the free shuttle service, was a real plus. The staff were all incredibly friendly; the shuttle driver even helped with my luggage, and the front desk was very polite – it made the whole experience very pleasant. The room was fully smart-controlled; you could operate everything just by speaking, which was fantastic! The room was also very clean, which I really appreciated. Plus, within a few hundred meters of the hotel, there are many snack and BBQ stalls, which are quite unique and add to the local flavor. I think staying here is an excellent choice – very convenient. I would definitely choose this hotel again if I have the chance.

This charming homestay is tucked away on a quiet side street, just a quick 2-minute walk from the main Lianian Street. My friends and I loved the beautiful courtyard and traditional architecture — it really captured the local character of Jianshui. We only stayed one night, right after the Golden Week holidays, and were pleasantly surprised that the staff could arrange spacious rooms for us on the same second floor (I’d recommend choosing the second floor over the first). The staff were friendly and very responsive to our questions and requests. One thing to note: because it’s designed in a traditional courtyard style, you can hear other guests talking if you leave your windows open — but that’s part of the authentic atmosphere!

This stay was very pleasant. The hotel is conveniently located with excellent surrounding amenities. Airport pick-up and drop-off were prompt, the rooms were cozy and comfortable, and very clean. There were themed rooms and a game room, and the soundproofing was good. The service was excellent; it's truly a trustworthy and high-quality hotel.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel in Kunming. The location is excellent, right in the heart of the city, making it very convenient for exploring the area. There are night markets, shopping malls, restaurants, and metro stations all within walking distance, which made getting around extremely easy. The check-in and check-out processes were smooth and hassle-free. Our room was spacious, modern, beautifully designed, and exceptionally clean. The facilities were well-maintained and thoughtfully provided, making our stay both comfortable and enjoyable. We especially appreciated the cozy atmosphere and attention to detail throughout the hotel. Combining a prime location, modern amenities, and spotless cleanliness, this hotel offers great value for anyone visiting Kunming. Highly recommended, and we would definitely stay here again!

I've stayed in many hostels across the country, but this is the first one I've truly wanted to recommend to everyone! The atmosphere is fantastic, the scenery is beautiful, it's clean and tidy, and the owner is lovely. It's especially amazing to just sit on the sofa and zone out when the sun is out. This is hands down the best value-for-money hostel I've ever stayed in. The owner even gave me a ticket to a stage play! If you love ethnic culture, you'll be absolutely thrilled! Highly, highly recommend!!!

Lijiang started from the fireworks of Zhongyi Market. Near the south gate of Lijiang Ancient City, I got off the plane and went to the hotel with a sister with a high front desk. I checked in for us in advance. I went straight to Zhongyi Market to open the dazzling eating mode. Our hotel is not far away, just a few minutes walk. In an instant, it was surrounded by a lively market atmosphere. Under the wooden building, the busy figure of the vendors, and the fragrance of various snacks, constitute the most real life picture of Lijiang. The food in any restaurant is very fragrant, and I will go to Yunnan again next time. ❤️

Seriously good! When I checked in, the front desk lady upgraded my room – I originally booked a single, but got a room with two beds! Haha, the beds were super big, she told me to just enjoy both of them. Plus, there's an elevator, which is a nice touch. It's truly great value for money; the environment is lovely with lots of greenery, and the bathroom is spacious and the toilet is clean. I honestly didn't expect such a great room for under 100 yuan! And just for fun, here are some photos I took at Blue Moon Valley, I think they turned out pretty well hahaha (✿^‿^)

The room was spacious, clean, and tidy. It had a viewing platform outside with a panoramic view of Lijiang Old Town. There was also a sofa, making it a super cozy and comfortable spot to relax. The hostess was lovely and kind-hearted, truly caring about her guests and providing a lot of helpful assistance. My stay here felt just like being at home – so warm and welcoming. I'll definitely be back!
