I recently had to cancel my reservation at The Fairhaven Hotel due to an unexpected illness, and unfortunately, my experience with their customer service has left much to be desired. Despite reaching out promptly to explain my situation and request a refund, I was met with a firm refusal. The hotel’s cancellation policy was not flexible enough to accommodate my circumstances, which was quite disappointing. I understand that policies are in place for a reason, but a little compassion in times of need would have gone a long way. The hotel itself may have great amenities and a lovely atmosphere, but my experience with their handling of cancellations has overshadowed any positive aspects. I would advise potential guests to carefully consider the cancellation policy before booking, especially if there’s a chance that plans may change unexpectedly. Overall, while I cannot speak to the quality of the stay, my interaction with the hotel regarding my cancellation has left me feeling frustrated and dissatisfied. I hope they can improve their customer service approach in the future.

Had such a lovely stay! Room was clean and service was excellent. Was lucky enough to eat at the pub as well and the food was incredible. Would definitely recommend to anyone planning to pass through Shaftesbury.

Check in ended at 6 pm, the email sent by the hotel did not pay attention, and the result was to the hotel entrance iron general to the door. The owner is an English gentleman who is very enthusiastic and helped us lift our luggage upstairs, and also introduced us to the dinner location and cheap parking locations. In particular, the hotel breakfast is very good, the owner is very responsible for taking care of the guests, we are very satisfied. I feel that the owner is especially enthusiastic about Chinese guests (actually he is very good to all guests) because he has a Beijing wife. Although this time she returned to Beijing and did not have a chance to meet, but a cross-ocean phone call brought our feelings closer. I sincerely hope that all the compatriots who snort overseas will prosper, and we will definitely top you again if we have the opportunity.
