This hotel is okay. I found the location to be good and just a short walk to the main busy areas. The young lads who work there are lovely and always greet you when entering or leaving which is lovely. Where this place fell short for me was I had a leak in the bathroom. The water was dripping out onto the floor constantly. When I told them the bathroom floor was full of water they didn’t seem concerned or interested in fixing the solution even after looking at it - I had to ask for a room change, it was not offered. None until next day which was fine but I had to then ask for a bucket to try and prevent having to walk through water every time I needed to use the toilet. I got one and it filled it very quickly. I got moved to another room next day and had no fridge - they put one in there for me after me asking. I stayed for 4 nights and no one came to sweep my floor or provide a new bath towel/ toilet roll. Also I asked about laundry and told it be done by afternoon the next day. I left a bag of clothes. Went to collect the ‘evening’ of the next day and my bag was just left under the reception counter not done. Not sure why no-one didn’t ask each other why is this bag still here? It had been longer than 24h. I had to be up and on a bus out of Kampot the next morning :-( I have scored well because they change me to another room but I had to ask for it. That pipe need fixing - someone could slip and hurt themselves.
The stay at the Old Cinema Hotel in Kampot was absolutely unique. This place has an amazing climate combination of the history of the old cinema with modern comfort creates an atmosphere I have never met in any other hotel. The rooms are spacious, beautifully decorated and refurbished in every detail.
The service deserves a huge distinction smiley, helpful and always ready to advise what to see in the area. Breakfasts are fresh and really tasty, and the whole facility is perfectly clean and careful.
Location is also great: calmly, but only a few minutes walk from the center of Kampot, restaurant and nightlife.
It's a hotel with a soul in which you feel like home right away.
The Guesthouse is in a good location and close to lots of things. The owner was very helpful and kind.
But, the guesthouse is noisy - from traffic & pubs/restaurants outside, and from guests inside.
I stayed in March 2026. The hotel is sooooo weak. It smells strongly of smoke, everything is very old and dirty, the towels are so gray, the bed was clean, it even smelled of air conditioning, which is a plus. The town is small, so everything is within walking distance, and the embankment with fountains is a 15-minute walk.
Amazing stay! This hostel is nestled in a quiet area but close enough to the action. The restaurant area is well-maintained and the food was delicious. The pool was clean, and the lounge chairs were great. Lots to do in the hostel for recreational activities. The room service was nice, and they also had laundry on site, which made it so convenient. They also have motorbikes for hire. Fun time riding to Kep and back! Would definitely recommend this hostel, especially the privates! Loved having a balcony and view!
I liked the hotel, interesting interior. Very cozy. Large room, comfortable bed. Everything you need is available. Convenient location, markets, embankment, many shops and cafes nearby. Very tasty breakfast! Polite and smiling staff.
The shower only had cold water, but thankfully it wasn't too cold. It was under renovation when I checked in, so it was a bit messy, but the front desk staff were very friendly. Most food stalls nearby cost around two dollars, and there's also a large supermarket, making shopping convenient.
Normal hotel for its price category. Everything is nearby. The bus from Siem Reap brought literally 50 m. from the hotel. The embankment and the monument to durian are 5 minutes away. The seafood market is 1 minute away. The staff is attentive, we asked for hot water for coffee, they brought a kettle. We did not take breakfast.

GGuest UserToothbrushes available, riverside location, very attentive staff, and close proximity to everything make it an excellent choice.

GGuest UserQuality according to price The room is quite old. The blanket color is even yellow. But the location is considered ok Easy to go anywhere There is breakfast as omelette and bread set each. The owner takes good care of it. But the room is a bit old
