This hotel is centrally located in the city of Georgetown, close to the jetty and has really good prices for rooms. There is also keyless access for the convenience of guests. Recommended for budget travelers looking for affordable accommodation.
The hotel is located on nice location close to tourist spots and have many cafes and restaurants around. You will not get bored. And the hotel is look new, clean and minimal.
The staff of the hotel very nice and helpful his name is “Saleem” he’s very helpful and fast response we were talking about the details online and if I need his assistant he is very fast to respond back and friendly also.
I found it quite good and excellent value for money. The accommodation is right across from Chew Jetty, and the street opposite is packed with delicious food, including durian, char kway teow, seafood, and Mixue (an ice cream/drinks chain). It might be due to the heat, but I found all the iced drinks here to be really tasty. Be aware that at night, you might hear motorcyclists speeding, a common occurrence I've also observed in Kuala Lumpur where I am currently. The location is really good and I found it very convenient. A deposit is required, which will be refunded before check-out. The room was also very spacious. Oh, and a heads-up: remember to bring your own travel adapter. There's a convenience store right next door that's also somewhat of a hardware shop, and they sell adapters for about 7.9 MYR each.
First of all, the hotel itself is absolutely beautiful.
Right in front of the hotel entrance, there is a restaurant called SNUG, and every single dish felt thoughtfully prepared and genuinely delicious.
The Malaysian Chinese lady owner was incredibly kind and always willing to help, which made our stay feel even more welcoming and personal.
As soon as you step outside the hotel, many major tourist attractions are within walking distance, so the location is very convenient.
One small thing to note is that the bathroom inside the room is quite small, and the soundproofing is not very strong—so for couples who have just started dating, everyday sounds might feel a bit too “live broadcast.” 😅
Aside from that, the room was very clean, cozy, and charming, perfectly capturing the old Penang vibe.
Overall, it’s a simple, compact, and lovely hotel that we truly enjoyed and would happily recommend. 💛
i like this hotel so much. seems like a new hotel. iron and iron board, hair dryer provided in the hotel room. the aircond is so cool, refrigerator also very cool. got many plugs, no need to use an extension. got kiblat arrow but didn't provide a prayer mat. got place to put a luggage and other bags, no need to put on the floor. the bathroom quite big and the water pressure is good. the water heater also works well. this pictures taken before check out. the most i like is the black totebag given in the room which is very rare. hotels normally just give a laundry plastic bag only. overall, i am satisfied with the interior and the facilities provided in the room. just one thing that you can hear sounds and voices from the outside. other than that, everything is good. would love to come again in the future.
I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The staff (aized, sutharsan and Mubeen) were very friendly and helpful from check-in until check-out. The room was clean, spacious, and comfortable, with all the necessary amenities. Location is convenient, close to restaurants and public transport. Overall, a great experience and I would definitely stay here again.
Great service event online. Easy for check-in and check out. The customerserviceby online fast response, location near gurney, and the room was clean and comfortable.
My friends and I stayed for 3 nights in a Family room. Room layout was great, perfect for what we needed for 3 friends, two of whom were working remotely while in Penang. Nice view from the window. The bathroom was a good size - looked to be a handicap accessible bathroom - but no hooks for hanging anything, and the shower head couldn't be moved up high enough, so it was awkward. Good temperature and pressure, though. Hallways were run down and dirty looking. We booked this hotel also for the breakfast option as well, but that wasn't great - ”hot” food was not actually kept hot despite being in chafing pans that could very well have been heated. Toaster was broken on the 2nd day so one friend had cold bread with butter (probably margarine). Breakfast was set to run from 7am to 10:30am; we went down at around 9am the first morning. The noodle dish was already run out, and we were told there would be no more. Coffee was good and hot. It was fine but overall disappointing. It was an okay stay but not great, and I'm not sure it was worth the price paid. I dont think I'd stay again unless some improvements were made.
Good location and room. But it’s a bit small if you are Muslim and want to pray.
Very Good

GGuest UserCertainly! Below is a **detailed, balanced, and constructive review template** for **Hangoutspacez Queensbay** (or a similar budget/co-living space in Penang). Since this isn’t a widely documented property, I’ll structure it generically so you can adapt it based on your actual experience.
---
### **Hangoutspacez Queensbay – Honest Review**
**Location: ★★★★☆** (4/5)
- **Pros:** Close to Queensbay Mall (5–10 min walk), easy access to restaurants, supermarkets, and public transport. Convenient for business travelers (Bayan Lepas tech zone) or tourists exploring Penang’s south.
- **Cons:** Not in the heart of tourist spots like George Town (requires Grab/taxi).
**Cleanliness: ★★★☆☆** (3.5/5)
- **Pros:** Daily cleaning for common areas; linens provided are fresh.
- **Cons:** Occasional maintenance issues (e.g., slow drain in showers, worn-out furniture). Budget vibe—don’t expect luxury.
**Facilities: ★★★☆☆** (3/5)
- **Pros:** Free WiFi (decent speed), communal kitchen, and lounge area. Good for solo travelers or digital nomads.
- **Cons:** No gym/pool; shared bathrooms can get crowded during peak hours.
**Staff & Service: ★★★★☆** (4/5)
- Friendly and helpful for local tips, but limited 24/7 front desk support.
**Value for Money: ★★★★☆** (4/5)
- Affordable for Penang (around RM50–100/night for dorms). Ideal for short stays, but may lack long-term comforts.
**Room for Improvement:**
1. **Better Soundproofing** – Noise from common areas can be heard in private rooms.
2. **More Power Outlets** – Limited charging points in dorms.
3. **Clearer House Rules** – E.g., quiet hours or kitchen cleanup policies.
**Verdict:**
A **no-frills, social budget stay** best suited for backpackers, solo travelers, or those attending nearby events. Manage expectations—it’s functional but not luxurious.

### **How to Use This Review Constructively:**
- **If You’re a Traveler:** Compare with alternatives (e.g., Tune Hotel, capsule hostels). Prioritize location vs. price.
- **If You’re the Property Owner:** Address cleanliness/maintenance, add clear signage for rules and maybe create any accessible lockers available to utilize the space in the efficient manner.
LLee Hoon ChengThe hotel is ideally located, just 100m across the street from the Jetty. It's also very close to Chew Jetty, surrounded by quaint literary shops and numerous food stalls. The best part is the convenient access; you can catch the free island shuttle or other buses at the main bus terminal right opposite the hotel. From the jetty, you can also take a ferry back to Seberang Perai to catch a train. All in all, the location is excellent.
RRonin tanThe hotel's automatic check-in system is very convenient, the whole process is fast and smooth, there is no need to wait for the front desk, especially suitable for passengers who are in a hurry or like self-check-in. The room was very clean and tidy, the bed was comfortable and well-equipped, making people feel at ease. The overall environment is quiet and the sound insulation effect is good.
There are many restaurants and snack bars nearby, whether it is breakfast, lunch or supper, you can easily find delicious things. The transportation is also very convenient, and convenience stores and shopping malls can be reached on foot. Overall, this stay experience is very satisfactory, I will definitely choose here next time I come to this area!
GGuest UserThis hotel have a spacious and comfortable lobby with some cushion sittings and friendly check in staff..
I've a little but comfortable room with a single bed, and a clean bathroom with two panels sliding glass doors ran along the length of the room wall with the shower at one end, the wash basin in the center n the toilet at the other end.. I would say it's a very nice bathroom for the price of the room.
Plenty of halal n non halal foods stalls n shops just a short walking distance away, and it only takes a 10 minute walk to the KTM train station, the reason I stayed here as i need to catch the 6.20am morning train
TTravel King of the KingThe location is superb close to Penang international airport, it's convenient for those who plan to stay one night for the next morning early flight. The hotel has a lift, but the tooth brush and tooth paste is not provided , please bring your own prior to arrivals.
The durian store opposite the hotel (outside of Giant bayan baru) is bad, please don't be cheated by them, , they won't change it for you although it was wet with water inside, bad taste and it's hard like stone. Furthermore, the price is expensive compared to market prices.
HHusin AlatasHad a nice stay at the hotel. I was in transit so only needed the hotel for a few hours to catch a nap and shower.
The place is new, you can smell the new shower. You get a nice large space with 2 ceiling fans and an AC that works really well. It seems like a home converted into a hotel where you leave shoes off and kept in a locker before you enter the property. They have cold, warm and hot water machine.
My only issue is that throughout the night there were some machine noises going on. So be aware if you are sensitive to sound whilst sleeping.
Oh, although they have no lift, the front desk kindly offered to carry my bags to the 2nd floor which was a pleasant touch to my experience.
