I had a wonderful stay at Swing & Pillow 87 Muntri Penang. Everything was great! The location, the comfort, and the overall experience. The only small issue was that it could be a bit noisy at times because the walls are quite thin. However, I completely understand that this is part of preserving the charm and structure of the heritage building, which makes the stay unique and special.
A special thanks to Junaid for keeping the property so well managed and ensuring guests feel comfortable throughout their stay. His effort and hospitality are truly appreciated. Overall, it was a pleasant experience, and I would gladly stay here again.
The hotel's location is great, very close to attractions, and the room was also very clean. It was super convenient for dining and getting taxis. However, the downside was very noticeable: the noise. The bar next door kept playing loud music until 2:30 AM. Being so close to the road, I could also hear the loud roar of modified cars and motorcycles. To make matters worse, there was even renovation work going on in the morning with constant hammering, which severely disrupted my sleep.
It was alright. The location was decent, and getting around Penang by taxi is super convenient. However, it's a bit far from the main tourist attractions. There's a water dispenser on the first floor, which is really handy. I heard there's a really good cake shop nearby, but honestly, the cake I tried was just so-so.

I booked this hotel for friends, and they really enjoyed their stay. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the staff was very kind and helpful. Everything went smoothly with the check-in, and the location was convenient. I'm happy with the choice and would book it again
I'm not sure what to think about this hotel. It has all the essentials (water fountain, ironing board, hairdryer), but the room is poorly soundproofed – you can hear almost everything from outside the windows. There's no elevator, and you have about 10 steps to climb plus more steps to even enter the hotel (which is tough with suitcases and bags). The common areas are extremely hot, and there's no luggage storage (though it was mentioned in the listing, we just didn't see it). On the positive side, the location is great, and check-in was fast. Thanks!
This hotel is really great. For the first time i decide to book Gather Inn, i don't have any expectations. I choose Family Suite for max 4 people (bcs Trip.com give me a discount too hehe) But, the location suprisingly good!!! Pasar Chowrasta, 24 hours Laundry, Bakery, Nasi Kandar Deen Mutiara, Cheng Woh Herbal Store, Toh Soon Cafe, Bagel's Dream, Berlys Lebuh Leith and many places. I also love their hospitality 😭❤️ All the crew are friendly to us. If i got another chance to visit Penang again, i will no hesitate to book this hotel.
I stayed in the 8-bed female dormitory and had a very pleasant experience overall.
The room was very clean, and the blanket was soft and smelled fresh. Each bed had its own power outlet and reading light, which was very convenient. The bathroom was decent and well-maintained, with a hair dryer provided. I also appreciated that soap, shampoo, and facial cleanser were available, and the quality of the products was quite good. Slippers were provided as well.
The pantry area was a nice bonus, with complimentary drinking water, tea, coffee, and a microwave for guests to use.
Although this property uses a self check-in system, the staff were very responsive and always replied quickly to messages whenever I had questions.
When I stayed, all 8 beds in the room were occupied, but everyone was very respectful and considerate of others. The room remained quiet, and I had no issues with noise from other guests.
The only small downside was that there are restaurants and bars around the hotel, so music can be heard from outside, especially in the evening. However, I'm not particularly sensitive to noise, so I still slept comfortably throughout the night.
The location is easy to find and convenient to access. Overall, I think this is a great option if you're looking for a clean, comfortable, and budget-friendly place to stay. Good value for money, and I would happily stay here again.
Rating: 8/10 💖
Stayed on the 5th floor, the room was new and the Chinese lady at the front desk provided excellent service. The hygiene was good. It's convenient for both dining and transportation nearby. I especially loved Hsiang Yang Kitchen near Crescent Moon Teahouse; their fish was incredibly fresh and affordable. The owners are kind and caring. I accidentally ate some of their fried fish, which was meant for a nursing home, and it was delicious. The owner insisted on not charging me. I'm very grateful and a little embarrassed.
The accommodation was clean with comfortable air conditioning. The staff provided excellent service. It's close to a variety of food options, and the price is good. It's quiet, clean, and the rooms are affordable, plus it's near a street food area.

龚龚永昕At this price point, it's fantastic value for money. I'd definitely return. Although the location is a bit far from GT, I would still consider it for future stays as it's not far from the commercial area, and transportation is decent.

NNikGriThe hotel has written off with me on Wattsap in advance and left instructions and how to get to the hotel itself and room about the actions of the eviction. Very convenient. The hotel is in a convenient location for a sightseeing. Near the shop 7/11 and just opposite it is the bus stop. There is also a free SAT bus, on which you can come or leave to the ferry pier. Minus dam for a thick layer of dust on the abazhur lamp and light switch box in the toilet and shower cabin. This layer is long dug without cleaning. The cabin itself I liked. But again, I understand, when light is turned on, the air extract must be turned on. And it doesn't work, which makes the cabin long dry and keeps moisture.
CCindy Tan Swee HwaThe room was pretty good, but it was a shame there was only one pair of pillows and they were too soft. I forgot to take photos, but the overall experience was still quite good. The location is also convenient for getting around, though parking spaces are a bit limited.
AAnonymous UserThe hotel has an excellent surrounding environment and convenient parking. It's acceptable, and the rooms are well-equipped. Keep up the good work!

GGuest User- Location is strategic
- Cleanliness is good, all plug points can be used and wifi connection is strong too.
- limited parking space,
- Self check-in, owner will give you instruction before you arrived.
- feels like home.
- good place to stay.
GGuest UserI love the vending machine downstairs! Very convenient for last minute buys. The room was clean and cozy. Had a good warm bath and a nice sleep before the next day's journey!
