I stayed in a 4-person dormitory, and while it was okay for me, the space for suitcases was limited. It could get quite challenging if all guests had large suitcases, so I'd recommend bringing a backpack instead, as you can also use the lockers provided. I was on the top bunk, which meant I had to use a power bank to charge my phone.
The shared kitchen area had a fantastic vibe, and I really enjoyed chatting and socializing with other guests there. For transportation in Svalbard, you can take a bus or taxi between the airport and the city center. Conveniently, a bus stop is right next to the hotel. Although it's a bit outside the main town, the prices are reasonable, and the breakfast is delicious, so I'd definitely recommend it.
It's a bit far from the city center, but for the price, don't worry about the distance. You'll basically be on a tour every day, and they'll pick you up. I thought the breakfast and rooms were very good; there's heating, and it's big enough for four people. Breakfast includes salmon.
Initially, considering the prices of the Svalbard Islands, we were considering budget accommodation, but the photos we saw in the review were very attractive.
I chose this hotel. As a result, this choice was correct.
Location: 5 minutes walk to the city center, 10 minutes walk to the sea, clock tower and sake brewery, very convenient location.
Landscape: From the large windows of the room, I was able to enjoy the magnificent view of the mountain 々.
Comfort of rooms: enough to use alone, central heating is complete in winter
I was able to spend comfortably without feeling cold. There is also a lamp at the bedside and the brightness is sufficient.
And WIFI is no problem, fast.
Shared bathroom: Very clean and managed, despite sharing with many guests
It was always available when toilets and showers were needed.
Breakfast: The repertoire was constant, but the bread and baked confectionery were freshly baked and crispy.
Especially the croissant was very delicious and it was exceptional to eat salmon and cheese.
Tour: I didn't make a reservation through the hotel, but I was able to participate smoothly because the tour company bus picked me up at the bus stop in front of the hotel.
General review: I stayed for a total of 4 nights, but the stay was comfortable, so it was a satisfying stay that I wanted to postpone the flight until the day before departure and extend my stay.
