11376100****Great location, nice staff and clean room service.
The facilities are quite old, not that solid bed, the sockets are quite away from your bed, the lockers are mini and some of them are broken. But the toilet and bathroom are separate, which is useful in busy time.
It is kind of noisy but my ear plugs works. This is not a problem for me.
So it could be a good choice if location is important for you.
Hhxyz- great accommodation for backpackers
- room is spacious (can open both luggage and keep them under the bed), great view of Lake Wakatipu to
- street parking just outside of Haka House is free but very limited. ended up paying $15 per night for parking within Haka House (there’s limited lots as well)
- there’s stairs from reception area to the first floor. have to carry luggage up a small flight of stairs before being able to access the lift
- communal kitchen is big and spacious for 6 groups to cook at the same time
MMayer_0101I highly recommend this cozy and comfortable hostel! It seems like there were small activities every night, and I was lucky enough to participate and hang out with people from other branches. The overall experience was great, and I made friends from all over the world in just two nights. Not only were the staff friendly and welcoming, but the location was also very convenient, and the price was even better. This small hostel is also perfect for shy and introverted people.
MMandy PuaThe hotel is located near town center, few minutes of walk can reach the octagon and it’s next to railway station. Very good location. The hotel was built around 1875 if not mistaken so the room is very very vintage and old. Most of the amenities in room look old especially the bath tub look dirty and room space is quite small. A lots of parking space provided by the hotel and it’s opposite of the hotel.
GGuest UserPerfectly situated in the heart of town, this location offers unparalleled access to local attractions. However, the room's cleanliness falls short, with the en-suite requiring attention and a blocked floor drain in the bathroom hindering comfort. A mixed experience in an otherwise prime location.
__CFT010000002124****The motel's location is a bit out of the city center, so a car is essential for getting around. You can park right in front of your room. The kitchen is well-equipped with everything you need, including pots and pans.
The male owner was very responsible. On our first night, the AC wasn't blowing hot air, and we woke up freezing at around 5 AM. We talked to the owner the next day, and he explained that the thermostat was set too high, preventing the AC from kicking in. He then restarted the outdoor unit and got it working. He even proactively knocked on our door to check if it was working correctly and brought us a small space heater. The owner also provided a small map, showing us places to visit in the city and how to get there.
ZZoushener999The wooden house has creaky floors, so you need to walk lightly. There's no private bathroom; about two to three rooms share one shared bathroom (toilet and shower). The interior decor is charming and unique, clearly a lot of thought went into it. Check-in is via a code, which can be a hassle if you miss the email – I personally spent a long time trying to find it. The single bed is quite narrow, but that seems to be a common standard abroad.
ZZongyouyangguang1970A large motel, the hotel grounds are a large park. There is a large lawn and a rugby field. very quiet. We live in a separate area. The room is not big and can accommodate 2-3 people. There is a public kitchen, which is large and cooking is no problem. There are dedicated public toilets and bathrooms, only hotel guests have keys, one minute's walk from the room. There is a medium-sized supermarket 5 minutes' walk away. It is a 10-minute walk from the town center, less than 20 kilometers from Queenstown, and a 20-minute drive. Compared with the same housing price in Queenstown, it is half cheaper.
