This stay was not what I would call good... It was in fact a poor experience.
By this I mean.
I arrived at 3.50pm to get checked into a room that I was informed would be ready for check in at 3pm... The room was not ready, and i was told they would try to have it ready in 20-25 mins.
I explained that that was not acceptable. I was told I could wait in the lobby area...I again explained that that was not acceptable. Another employee jumped in to say, I could sit in the lobby. Now I am irritated. I explained in more detail that I could not very well change in the lobby, being that I had to change and get to a wedding in Yonkers for 5.30...He then started to challenge me. Started telling me how he didn't like the tone of my voice. I then dismissed him and suggested he move away and let me deal with the situation with the desk clerk...who by the way was VERY, VERY, helpful, and whom I had no issues with, because she was doing everything she could to accommodate. The real problem was with the cleaning crew and their supervisor , who kept telling her the wrong things. I even offered for them to allow me to change, and then they could have the room to complete getting it ready. They told her to tell me that it wasn't protocol for me to do that. To which I responded that it wasn't protocol to not have the room ready.
At this time the desk associate, Aaliyah, who as I said was very helpful, and who I had NO ISSUES with, and she knew that, suggested that I would be reimbursed 50% for all the stress that I encountered, and gave me the room key to allow me and my wife to change and be on our way. This is where I say common sense made more sense than ”protocol”.
So my review will be....Great job handling a difficult situation by the desk associate, Aaliyah...
Poor job by the room ready crew.
And a terrible job by the associate who decided to challenge me in what was a difficult situation, instead of finding a way to help.
5 STARS for Aaliyah
1 STAR for Cleaning Crew
(-0) for associate.

WuyileleThe location is excellent, very close to several subway lines, making it convenient for getting around. It's about a 10-minute walk from the M60 airport express bus stop. There are supermarkets and Chinese restaurants nearby. The front desk staff are very friendly and helpful. You can cook in the communal kitchen, and there are also simple meals available for purchase on the first floor. This was my first time staying in a hostel, and I had a great experience. This one was much better than the same brand's hostel I stayed at later in Boston. The 6-bed dorm was much more spacious than the 8-bed dorm; I forgot to take photos of the 6-bed room.

Newly renovated, quite chic, small but perfectly formed. The Indian lady at the front desk provided excellent service. I chose this hotel because it's close to JFK and offers a free shuttle. When I checked in, the front desk lady reminded us to book the shuttle for the next morning. It departed on time the next day, and everything went smoothly. However, the surroundings of the hotel were a bit run-down, which wasn't a great feeling. After returning to Shanghai, I found the hotel had overcharged me by $50. Even with Ctrip's intervention, it was no use. In the end, I'm grateful to Ctrip for covering the cost (Ctrip refunded the money to us themselves). Thanks, Ctrip!

The hotel is located at a very high level, with the subway at the corner and the entrance to Central Park opposite. The hotel is a bit old, with only one elevator for the 14 floors. The bathroom design is unreasonable, with the flush toilet next to the bathtub, which is very small and has a very thick wall handle, making it almost impossible to stand and turn around, and the shower is extremely uncomfortable! Manhattan hotels in New York are expensive, but the price is acceptable for this location. The hotel's room card system is very old, and the card will be deleted when you put it together with your phone. At this time, when you arrive at the door, you must take the only elevator down to swipe again. I swipe twice in three days!

KongyanThe environment is excellent, the hotel is relatively new, and the rooms are quite spacious, which is a rarity in New York. The price is also acceptable. Among Western-style breakfasts, this one is quite rich. If you don't mind being a little further from Manhattan, it's actually a great choice. Most of the staff are very nice, especially the housekeeping team, who are very polite and keep everything spotlessly clean. There are many good restaurants on the way to the subway.

kuppiesThis is very much a classic, old-fashioned American motel, but it is not the kind of place you need to be overly worried about. The sheets and towels are changed, and small packets of all-in-one shampoo are provided.
The bathroom has a bathtub and shower with a shower curtain. There can occasionally be a slight odor, which is probably the main downside. The hair dryer is an old-style black unit mounted on the wall, and it may remind you of the kinds of dryers that used to be common in motels years ago.
The room includes a refrigerator, microwave, and television. Wi-Fi is available and generally convenient, although it sometimes disconnects, which is part of the motel’s charm. Cell phone reception is also somewhat weak, but I was still able to get a signal. During my stay, AT&T and Verizon were not particularly strong, while T-Mobile seemed to work better.
All of the buildings are single-story, and the parking lot is spacious, so finding a place to park should not be a problem. There also appears to be a Chinese restaurant attached to the reception area, although I never saw it open during my stay.
Staff are usually available at the front desk from around 9:00 a.m. until about 11:00 p.m. For arrivals outside those hours, you can call in advance. There is a key lockbox outside, and you can open it using a passcode, so late-night check-in is still easy and convenient.
This is not a luxurious property, but it is a practical and reasonably comfortable motel, especially for travelers arriving by car and watching baseball games in Allstar village.

Guest UserThe hotel's biggest advantage is its excellent location, right next to Central Park, within walking distance to the subway and Columbus Circle, making travel incredibly convenient. The rooms are basically clean, with simple, sufficient facilities, suitable for budget-conscious travelers.
However, the soundproofing is a major issue: you can hear everything from the adjacent rooms, and I was frequently woken up at night by loud talking and slamming doors, making it almost impossible to get proper rest. I reported this to the front desk multiple times during my stay, but the problem never improved. I also filed a complaint through the booking platform, but received no response or follow-up whatsoever – customer service was virtually non-existent.
The common areas and bathroom facilities are a bit old, and the cleanliness in some areas was just average. Overall, it's only suitable for backpackers who prioritize location over sleep quality. Travelers who value quietness and good service should definitely look elsewhere.

Guest UserStaff were very friendly and helpful. The Hotel was under renovation so ice machines weren't working, halls were dirty, and rooms needed these upgrades. My room itself was decently cleaned but the bathroom was not. The corners had accumulated dirt\dust\tp and the bathtub had a ring around it. Shower water pressure was great and had Shampoo, conditioner, and body wash available. It is also one of the few hotels I've stayed at that actually included bars of soap if that is your preference like me. The breakfast had a decent variety to choose from, especially if you just wanted something quick. I chose to head into Albany and get some real food and coffee. All of what I said above is fixable with this ongoing renovation and that should be taken into account when reading my review. What probably won't be fixed is the lack of any sort of soundproofing in the rooms. I could hear every door close on my floor and people talking in the hall sounded like they were in my room!! Strongly suggest you get a room away from the elevators if possible. Unfortunately I did not have the time to check out the Pool or Hot Tub but did see some kids having a good time in there. Location is 15 minutes away of just about everything you want to see in Albany and I was all over the place that weekend. Take an edible or Ambien to sleep through late night partiers or early risers and you will be all set!!
