One important detail for fellow travellers: the connection did not activate immediately at the HCM airport immigration area. However, it connected perfectly once I reached the arrivals hall. I did have to restart my phone a couple of times to trigger the initial connection, but after that, the network coverage was excellent throughout my entire trip.
