Could have been 5 Star however after 4 nights with a wonderful experience it went to hell! Lovely ensuite site and great camp kitchen in a lovely park for 5 nights. Then a large group ( over 100) moved in with no caravan park etiquette. We had a great ensuite site on the creek, lovely and clean and the camp kitchen was magnificent. However a large group arrived on Friday afternoon and took over, drinking and eating and leaving rubbish in the playground opposite. The adults rode bikes and scooters and walked through our site and took over the playground drinking and eating pizza and leaving rubbish everywhere. Contacted the reception and they said we could do nothing until 10. Never in 40 years of caravanning have we ever had such a bad experience. Won’t be back!

We really enjoyed our upgraded stay in the cottage, so spacious and well appointed in a delightful garden setting. The local chocolates were a delicious touch, and it was an easy walk to the attractions in town. We visited a distillery, brewery and winery in the afternoon & evening. Our host Ralph was super welcoming and friendly.

Araluen was comfortable, clean and welcoming. The toiletries are luxurious and the heating great in winter. The complimentary continental breakfast supplies appreciated. The shower water pressure is basically non existent and makes it difficult to shower. The location is remote requiring a vehicle. Overall we enjoyed our stay!

We stayed in the luxury safari tent for (2) nights and had a wonderful time. Even in the midst of Winter the tent was very warm. With a nice, comfortable bed, great pillows, sizeable room and a view across the vineyards, it was fantastic. The I have to add, the wine tasting experience was fantastic. When we stayed last year the experience was awful, chaotic and unappealing. Balgownie have done a complete 180 here and now it’s a highlight! Good on you for recognising the deficiency, remedying it and delivering a great product. It was truly the highlight for us.

The staff were absolutely fantastic to deal with right from the get go. We booked accommodation here six months ago for a music festival which then got rescheduled. I had to change the booking dates for our stay and it was no trouble at all for the staff. They were always kind and courteous and helpful. The park itself is so well maintained and beautiful to look around in. The cabin was very clean. It was 34 degrees during our stay and the air conditioner and ceiling fan kept us cool and comfortable. It was an added bonus that the tv had YouTube and netflix.

We got the second last room in Marysville with late plans to go away for a weekend. The motel room we stayed in was ‘fresh’, with what was possibly a near new bathroom. It was very comfy, spotlessly clean, very quiet, and only a couple of kms out of town. Directly opposite the golf course, which explained all the golfers! The bed was on the firmer side of standard, which my wife liked and I didn’t. The pillows were nice and soft though. Considering the location too, it was worth a four rating.
