Stayed at the Tivoli in Lisbon which was a 5* and fulfilled expectations even though the hotel itself felt dated in the décor, the room, however, was spacious and well-appointed, and the dining room sumptuous with personable service. Arrived at the Palacio del Bailio, a 5* in Córdoba, expecting similar excellence, and was grossly disappointed. The reception personnel was efficient, but rather soulless. Some of the dining room staff did not feel like they should be working in a 5* hotel. They banged plates and dropped cutlery in a rather careless manner, chat loudly to each other, and projected an unsophisticated service style. The spa was marketed a lot more interesting than it actually was. The spa staff was strangely confused about our bookings and took a while to sort timing and treatments out, and the roman bath experience that looked so intriguing on their website turned out to be just 3 pools of differing temperatures and very little else in terms of amenities. Our room, basic level that it is, was fine except the goofy bathroom. It had two showers, one standalone and one attached to the bathtub. Problem is, the standalone shower took up half of the real estate on the toilet side, which means you have to be very thin and very small to get into the toilet stall. We are small folks, and still I banged my knees against the glass partition when I sit down and cracked my forehead when I stand up. Never had I to sit on the toilet on an angle with my legs half out of the stall door, just so I don’t bruise assorted body parts. A new experience never to be repeated. The sinks were also stylish-looking, but extremely impractical. Very little space to put anything, and no way to plug the drain so I don’t accidentally flush my contacts away. The hot water was iffy at times and took a long while to get warm let alone hot. A lot of water wasted just waiting for the hot water to come out. Overall an okay to frustrating stay, certainly not what 5* should be.

We had only one night to spend in Córdoba, so I wanted to be near the Mezquita and the old Roman bridge. The Hesperia fit that bill. We reserved a room with view. Unfortunately, trees blocked the view of the bridge from our room, but we still could see across the tree-filled riverbed to the Mezquita and past Córdoba to the mountains beyond. I am glad we requested the view room, despite the trees. I also enjoyed ”people-watching” from our room, as some tour buses dropped people off nearby, and we could watch people walk along the large pedestrian sidewalk opposite the street. We treated ourselves to some drinks at the rooftop bar in the evening, too, and the view from the bar was spectacular! The mojitos the bartender made for us were fresh and delicious as well. I especially enjoyed being able to walk across the Roman bridge to the Mezquita. Even in the rain, someone was playing music on the bridge, and a passerby in front of us started dancing. The next morning, I walked back to the bridge to visit the museum in the tower on our side of the river (which was well worth the small admission fee) and the bridge area was just delightful with music and so many people out enjoying the day. The breakfast we had included was quite good, with multiple stations of foods and beverages, including a peach juice which my daughter and I loved. The room itself was clean and in good shape, with a large window facing the river and town. It originally had 2 twin beds pushed beside each other, but when I sat on mine and leaned against the wall, the bed moved, so I realized it was on wheels and it was easy to move the beds apart from each other, which was nice. A kettle was provided, so we enjoyed some tea as well as some sodas we were able to keep cool in the mini fridge. The tub was pretty deep, so my daughter treated herself to a bath in it. Also, I was surprised to find a nice restaurant in the building next door to the Hesperia. So even though the Hesperia is not on the Mezquita side of the river, we did not have to go far for a nice meal out! All in all, I can recommend this hotel for the good service we received from the front desk workers, the bartender, the housekeepers, and breakfast people, as well as for its convenient location and views.

Spent 3 nights at this hotel which is rated as 5* - a rating I don’t have any issue with. The building exterior and interior are all architecturally ‘brutal’. All surfaces are manufactured from hard materials (tile, glass, steel) - the exterior is clad in rusted steel. This type of design appeals to me so I quite liked the fact that everything had an industrial, clean cut practical feel. Location wise it sits at the end of a long well maintained park/gardens with orange trees aplenty which stretch from the railway station to the hotel and which is bordered and truncated with main roads. The downside of this is that traffic noise is evident despite the rooms being well glazed etc. The rooms are well appointed and comfortable with jacuzzi bath, two showers, double basins and separate toilet/bidet. Very helpful staff, great facilities including a nice rooftop pool, bar and sunbathing area. Breakfast was really good and well organised and there is a large enclosed courtyard which is partially covered with seating. The hotel is located within a 10 minute stroll from all the main historic attractions and extensive number of restaurants and Tabernas. Have no hesitations in recommending this hotel and would return without doubt.

For a 4 star hotel this was excellent value for money. Arriving by train we only had a 10 minute walk to get there, yet only 10 minutes walk from the hotel to cafes and shops, Perhaps 25 minutes from the historic centre so no local transport was needed. The room was spacious and quiet, in spite of being by a busy road. The bathroom was a decent size too. The only issue was a rather high and wide shelving to climb into the bath/shower, which could be difficult for a small or unsteady person. On the roof was a good sized and clean pool with plenty of shade. Nice to have something bigger than the postage stamp sized ones we've come across before, so a pleasant surprise. Good choices for breakfast although cafes minutes away were better value for money. The acid test- would we stay there again? Yes, definitely.

The hotel has a good location, very close to the mosque and the Roman bridge, and it is convenient to eat and buy gadgets around. The hotel facilities are very good, the roads are narrow, all are all small alleys, it is recommended that you park your car outside the ancient city and enter on foot. When leaving the store, the clerk was unskilled and didn't know that he had prepaid the room rate. The friend who was traveling with me made another payment. After my friend confirmed with me, I contacted the front desk to cancel the payment. Ctrip's service is very good, and the customer service has been helping to deal with it and telling relevant precautions.

We stayed at the AC Hotel Cordoba for one night during our stop in Cordoba. The hotel is located close to Cordoba train station and easily accessible by foot within 2-3 minutes. The main historical sites of the city are a good 10-15 minutes away by foot. Check-in was quick and the receptionist also gave us very useful tips in relation to the “Fiesta de los Patios” and furnished us with the necessary maps to explore. Our room was located on the second floor facing the road. I would definitely recommend asking for a room facing the back as we experienced some noise pollution from the traffic as the road can get very busy. The room has a nice contemporary interior and very comfortable bed and a nice clean, modern bathroom. Coffee making facilities in form of Nespresso machine are also in to room. My wife also required an iron, which was quickly delivered by staff upon request. Overall, we enjoyed our short stay at the AC Hotel Cordoba.

The hotel is located in the old center of Córdoba, adjacent to the Alcazar. Highly recommended mainly due to the excellent location. The hotel has the option of entering by car, you will receive detailed instructions from the hotel including photos for arrival. Free parking for the hotel. The parking lot is very narrow and steep at the entrance, you should not come with a large vehicle. The hotel is cute and cozy. The room is large, but its structure is uncomfortable. Inconvenient bathroom, opening the door blocks the bathroom and may harm those inside the bathroom. Reasonable breakfast, small and good variety. The service is excellent.

Rooms are nice and hotel is nice too. We booked a suite with terrace but were not informed (also not through their web page) that this room is on the second floor. We expected it on the top of the hotel given on the information of the hotel and the floor plans of the hotel. When entering the room, we found out that the terrace is large but inside the building and shady. The only windows are the ones to the terrace. Again not what we expected and thought was advertised online. Also there was extremely loud construction closeby with air hammers going on next to our room / wall. There is also no information available about this online and the hotel staff didn't inform us neither, which is actually not acceptable. We changed to a terrace room. These rooms are very nice but for the price with 19 sqm extremely small. One person must wait, when the other walks around the bed as you cannot bypass eachother. We liked the terrace a lot but we think that they should change the layout of this room for a better use. The toilet and especially the shower is oversized compared to the rest. We also don't see why there was a large cupboard placed into this small room. There was no space left for a chair or the luggage. What we also didn't like is the fact that other hotel guests not paying extra for upper floors sat directly on top of this private terraces, which was disturbing the privacy, we paid for. Given the small rooms and that one 'must' spent time on the terrace due to the size of the room, this was a bit annoying as some hotel guests seemed to have even brought their own drinks up there. Somebody also sprinkled water around and on us. The terrace rooms are beautiful but too expensive for what they are. They should amend the layout of these rooms to a better usage. The suite terrace on the second floor was inacceptable, being one of the most expensive room types. The hotel as such is very nice, clean and staff very friendly. We give four star instead of five because of the room issues.

Fancy a tea or coffee when you wake up? You can't have one: No tea or coffee-making facilities in your room. A swim before breakfast in the lovely on-site outdoor pool? You can't have one. The pool doesn't open until 1130. Something to eat? The buffet breakfast spread was plentiful and varied, but staff couldn't keep up with replenishment. At supper in the evening the classic ”rice, pork, chicken and seasonal mushroom” wasn't to my taste. Sweet and tomato-ey, and the mushroom element was elusive. Perhaps it's meant to be like that. My companion was happy with his pork tenderloin on a bed of potato. Convenience dictated that we eat there a second time, and on that occasion my steak and his hake were excellent. There was, though, a huge amount of nonsense about our choice of wine, exactly the same Rioja Crianza, listed as the house red, as we'd had two nights earlier. Never before in my life have I known a server be so difficult, or one in an international hotel be prepared to speak neither English nor French. Be ready to be assertive, or perhaps just eat elsewhere! The room was good even if a little bit tired: spacious, clean, excellent bathroom, toiletries and towelage, huge well-linened bed. Gloomy, with only mood-lighting, so if you have senior eyes and need to read print or lace your shoes, use the bathroom! The public areas are pleasant and airy, the terraces and view delightful. Although it's in a very fine location, this particular parador is not itself one of the characterful heritage buildings for which the group is so well-known. Reception staff are knowledgeable and helpful, particularly in booking taxis. If you intend to use this hotel do check carefully meal and pool timetables. There IS an indoor pool and fitness centre available to guests, apparently year-round, but you have to book and then walk 300m offsite. And the outdoor pool is blissful: Above all, there is no piped music. Our three-night stay was intended to offer some relaxation and refreshment between sightseeing trips, but it didn't work entirely well for me. I had never stayed in a parador before and trusted the brand's reputation for excellence in all aspects of hospitality. Disappointing.

GGuest UserLovely posada on a narrow, quiet street, only yards from Santa Marina Church. You enter through a tranquil courtyard, with well tended shrubs and flowers. We had a lovely welcome from Manuel, who was very attentive and helpful during our two night stay. The beds were really comfortable with good quality linen. Plenty of really hot water in a good size shower and fluffy, good quality, towels. Although the Church is on the doorstep, no bells ring the hour until 08.00! so it was really quiet ensuring a good night’s sleep. We would definitely stay here again if we return to Cordoba.
GGuest UserThese tourist apartments are in a quiet part of the historic district, an easy 10 minute stroll to the Mezquita and the Jewish Quarter, with several restaurants and cafes nearby, but blissfully away from the crowds and noise. Our apartment (7) was very clean and comfortable, on the top level of the building. Hotel pictures are accurate — there is a bedroom and a separate sitting area with kitchenette, sofa, dining table and kitchen island with chairs. You can see the Mezquita bell tower from the sitting area windows. The air conditioning worked perfectly, bed was quite comfortable, and water pressure/temperature in the shower were good. The owners have thoughtfully included many things for the comfort of their guests, including coffee and tea, and detergent pods for the dishwasher and washing machine. There is also a supermarket just around the corner, which is very convenient. If you arrive by car, it is not hard to navigate to the hotel, and the hotel staff will accompany you to a nearby private garage to park. We saw in the brochure in our room that you can arrange in advance to have breakfast delivered to your room in the morning, and can also arrange to have some groceries brought in — we did not use those services but they seem like a nice option. All in all, this is a lovely set up for a couple to enjoy a long weekend or more in Cordoba. Our only two comments, which did not affect our enjoyment of our stay at all, were: (1) we had requested and confirmed in writing a different room (apartment 6), but were told when we arrived that it had been given to someone else. Room 7, however, was of at least comparable quality and quite nice. (2) it might be made a bit more clear that the rooms have washing machines that will wash clothes, but not a clothes dryer — you dry clothes on a laundry rack that is provided. Again, this was totally fine, but would have been helpful to have a bit clearer as we spent a bit too much time trying to figure out whether the washer machine had a drying function, and it can be important to a guest to know how much time to allow for clothes to air dry. Overall, we very much enjoyed our stay and would gladly recommend it to others.

GGuest UserApartment looked great in the description and on arrival we found it to be clean, modern and a very good standard. The only comment would be why supply a tassimo coffee machine and be so mean as not to leave any pods? Very miserly. We booked the apartment primarily because of it’s excellent location across the bridge from the centre of Cordova and more importantly the basement parking(For Which we paid 13 euros per day extra ). We had hired a car and were travelling round Andalucia for 10 days, fully aware that parking had to be managed everywhere we stayed. We’d noticed on other reviews that this apartment was difficult to find. It certainly was and sat nav is useless in the area , because the streets are so narrow, so you just have to get out and walk. It sounds simple but it’s not. The whole area is super busy all the time. My husband stayed with the car and I found the street and apartment but it wasn’t easy. We also noticed on the description of the apartment on the website that someone would be there to greet us when we arrived. When I got to the entrance was locked and there was a notice attached informing new guests to call a number to gain entry. Our car was still not parked at this point. We’d driven all over around and around and there was no space anywhere and this was only 3pm. In the end we had no choice but to leave the car temporarily in a place which looked ok as there were no no parking signs as we had been instructed at this point to walk into the town to check in. The owners had blatantly lied in the description about having someone there to greet us. (Probably because other reviewers had complained about it.) We made our way to the hotel to check in as requested. The receptionist was professional, helpful and a really nice person. (We thought it was odd that she asked if we had a big car and we said no, it was only a VW Golf.) We went back to the apartment and got back into the car. To cut a long story short it would be extremely difficult and probably impossible for any car bigger than Fiat 500 to get through the entrance to car park. We’re both very experienced drivers but there’s simply not enough space to turn at the correct angle in the street as it’s so narrow. We gave up and drove around again but still no spaces even quite a distance away. Eventually, we parked it back where we’d left it previously as it seemed ok. We had a lovely evening in the town and came back at about 10pm. We Checked the car and everything was fine. We were up early the next morning looking forward to our day in cordoba. My husband nipped put to check on the car and it was gone. What a shock, no car. We thought it had been stolen so rushed out to the hotel for help. Silvia, the receptionist was calm, patient, professional and so helpful we can’t thank her enough. She phoned the car hire company to report it as stolen for us. They suggested contacting the Police. We waited until the police station opened at 9 am and they told us that it h
GGuest UserThe apartments are in a very beautiful renovated building just in the centre of the tent and Corredera squares. The hotel is very well treated, it is more when we leave the apartment we forgot some clothes and they called us immediately to get it. When your stay is finished you can do everything online. It has no parking but when making the reservation you are recommended some, we leave it in the Ribera parking that is quite close. The truth that in Cordoba is everything close and can be done walking. When we fly, we will repeat safely because we liked this space.
GGullyThis was a great place to stay barely in the mountains, overlooking the city. Definitely have to be traveling by care though if you are considering this location. The room itself was really pretty, clean, and included everything you would expect in a hotel, along with a great view. We traveled in the winter, so we were unable to take advantage of the pool.
Had booked for two nights. Arrived to meet a receptionist who was put out and asked us to leave as there is no one there. On Informing that we had a booking she gave us to keys. Seemed indefferent. Visited the room, the whole complex of apartments is depressing, it's very big and wierd to get to the rooms, which are 2 floors down. The location is far from the city and not convenient, after 10 minutes in the room we decider o stay elsewhere. As I said before, on informing the reception that we were leaving, she seemed indefferent. Poor location, poor staff and weird layout and not reasonably rypiced either. Was booked through Booking. Com through their partner beds online, which should have raised red flags. Give a wide berth.
