The Bay Apartments are a good value but simple place to stay in Hobart. We stayed here for 1 night this week, in a 2 bedroom apartment. The apartment was clean but small. It had an overpowering smell of cleaning products when we arrived but this dispersed during our stay. The bathroom is a traditional shower-over-bath, and there is a small living area and flat screen TV. There is a small cooktop and sink, and a bar fridge. The apartments are a short walk to a large range of restaurants, a Woolworths and a Cole. There is also a pub (almost) next door. It is a short drive to Hobart CBD and there are public buses out the front. We were apprehensive at first as it was quite noisy (noise from other guests and from the road), but this didn’t affect our sleep quality. There is parking outside the unit and one reverse cycle aircon unit in the living area. Don’t expect a fancy property- this is a basic but well presented unit at an affordable price point, not a $300/nt property. If you set your expectations correctly this is a very good property. The stairways to the upstairs appartments are very narrow and it is difficult to carry large cases up and down. I’d stay here again if looking for a basic stay in Hobart, but probably not for multiple nights.

We booked this hotel for its location. You can easily walk to Battery Point, Salamanca …etc. The room needs some upgrading as it seems dated. Housekeeping cleared our rubbish the first day but did not on the 2nd. Overall, it was was a wonderful stay.

We stayed at Leisure Inn Pennyroyal for 2 nights this week, in a 2 bedroom apartment. The building is a quaint old English style building, and our apartment was set over 2 levels - living area on 1st level and 2 bedrooms upstairs. The apartment was clean and comfortable, and included reverse cycle aircon/heating in each living area or bedroom. Free wifi is provided which worked well. Free parking is provided in designated spaces. Our room had double glazing which provided both thermal and noise insulation. The apartment is about a 900m walk to downtown, and is a short walk to the river, where it is again a short walk to Cataract Gorge (with lighting at night time). Highly recommend The Gorge restaurant for dinner. The apartment is adjacent to the Pennyroyal Adventures site which has some fun activities such as ziplining and jumping from a cliff. There are also some restaurants and bars nearby. Be aware that the hotel does charge a surcharge for credit card payments, which we avoided by settling our bill by Eftpos Savings at checkin. I’m happy to use a credit card for booking and preauthorisation, but I don’t see any value in paying extra as a means of payment.

Great 2 bedroom unit that we used as our base for 5 nights exploring the bottom half of Tassie. Living area isn’t huge and the kitchen is small, however it’s all very functional and works well. Bedrooms and bathroom facilities upstairs with comfy beds and bathrooms are great - fantastic shower pressure. Laundry facilities are good with 5 washing machines and dryers, and you can grab extra coffee, sugar, towels from here also anytime. Didn’t use the pool but it looks great. Parking is easy with parks straight outside your unit doors. Overall, great place to stay, but quite hilly if are wanted to walk into the city.

We stayed here for 3 nights over new years and loved the rooms. The bedrooms are small but beautifully appointed and the beds are comfortable. Kitchen and lounge is large and has everything you need The location is out on the edge of town but only a couple of minutes drive to the IGA so you can stock up on supplies. Great rooms to stay with a BBQ area and green grass plus a laundry and washing line We really enjoyed our stay here We did find the removal of rubbish sign very confusing as we had no idea where to put our rubbish

The hotel is a bit far from the city center. If there is a car, it is more convenient, but it is necessary to spit it out. July is their winter. The living room has an air conditioner but the heating is not very good. The dining room is miserable, there is no air conditioning, and the coat is in a hurry. After dinner, I went to the bedroom, but the three bedrooms had only one radiator, but the room was not too warm. The other two rooms had a radiator and one had no radiator. After many negotiations, the blanket was finally warmed. Waiting for the electrical appliances, I originally wanted to check out, but I saw that they were very good. I thought about the trouble of changing rooms. (To check out, you must say before 8:00, otherwise you will be able to enroll the next day.) I had a good night's sleep, I didn't expect to continually trip, power off, and half of the hot water was washed in the bath. I hurriedly wiped it with cold water. This is only 5 degrees in winter. I asked them to repair it many times, the electrician could do nothing, the wires were old, the walls of the house were thin, and the warmth was poor. At 11 o'clock in the evening, in order to guarantee the next few days, I decided to re-book the room and check out the next morning. Foreigners resolutely disagreed with the refund of the same room, even if they were not able to agree on their facilities, of course, the final result of Ctrip's mediation was satisfactory, so the partners of this hotel should consider it, they have no bedroom. Air-conditioned, no air conditioning in the summer, I think it is uncomfortable, but the scenery outside the house is good.

The old wool hotel is near the pier, which is suitable for taking children to the sea to watch the sea, watch the boats and feed the seagulls. One bedroom apartment with kitchen, you can go to the nearby Woolworths supermarket to buy some ingredients and make your own. Most of the hotel guests are Australian and feel very welcome.

Very perfect living experience, only 15 minutes drive from Hobart city, but you can get an unparalleled experience, it is great, I will stay again next time. It is suitable for children and the hotel service is very considerate. We booked the villa suite with a double sofa bed. It is very comfortable to stay with two children. The hotel also provided two additional children's breakfast. Elegant environment with Chinese service. The only drawback is the two black spiders found on the room curtains, but the old house is inevitable

Very nice staff and it is clean and comfortable. Every time when we come back, we can feel very relaxed. Outside is cold but our place is warm and we can have very relaxing hot shower. There is free internet and there are many T V channels and movies to see. I can keep in touch with my family overseas. Kids and I can enjoy movies together. The location is very good. It is in the city and very convenient to take public transport or visit tourist information centre to join tours. There are lots of warehouses, department stores, shops, cafe or restaurants around. I recommend anyone to stay at Launceston Central Apartment Hotel.

We love to self cater when we travel and the apartment here ticked all the boxes. Love a generic chain place where you know what you are going to get. This place has a Hobart twist - its in the old telephone exchange building with high ceilings and casement windows. We had a huge mural of the waterfront on the main lounge wall which added to the local flavour. You will have to request a hotplate and pots and pans. These are not installed in the rooms due to fire regulations. Someone burnt their toast which set off the alarms and we had to evacuate the building one morning. Take note that your apartment wont get serviced unless you are longer than seven days. This place is close to Salamanca Place and the waterfront but a good walk to the supermarket in the CBD or along Sandy Bay Road. Its actually on the corner of Sandy Bay Road and Davies Street and the entrance is off the latter. We requested a quiet room and it was perfect. We stayed here six nights all up and will return on our next trip to Hobart.

The scenery outside the window is simply amazing. I booked it for one day, and then postponed it for another 2 days.

The location is very good. From the airport, take the first stop of the bus and walk to the hotel. You can buy food and cook in the supermarket on the pedestrian street, which is very convenient. There are many places to eat on the pedestrian street.

Hobart City Apartments is located right in the downtown shopping district of the city. You don't stay there for the view, but you are in the thick of things and still only a 12 minute walk to the harbor for endless choices of restaurants, bars, cafes, etc. With notice and availability, they offer underground parking for $20.00 a night. Otherwise, there is night street parking and a couple of lots close by. Though this review focusses specifically on the 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom penthouse apartment where we spent 6 nights, 3 of us first spent 1 night in two large single rooms, while awaiting availability of the Penthouse apartment. Each large room included a king bed, with end tables and lamps, a wall mounted TV, and a seating area, plus a good sized bathroom with large walk in shower. These 1 bedroom units include a small kitchen with a mini fridge, and stove top, microwave and dishwasher. Suffice to say that both the single units and the Penthouse we stayed in, are beautifully and relatively recently decorated, and very comfortable. The Penthouse apartments are large and feel quite new, like the single units. Similarly they are well appointed, and nicely decorated, with lots of light. The upstairs consists of one bedroom, with a king bed, end tables, table lamps and a wall mounted TV, plus an ensuite bathroom. The bedroom space is tight which of course, can't be helped, and so there's minimal drawer storage though enough if you plan it out well. There's a wide, deep ledge in front of the window, so one of us used that to lay out clothes, and toiletries, while the other used the shelves in the closet and though we needed more hangers, there was enough hanging space for 2 of us. The suites are relatively new so having what felt like new bathrooms was a bonus. The upstairs bathroom has no counter space but under counter storage, a large shower and it's well designed. There is no door at the top of the stairs into that bedroom/bathroom, so if privacy is an issue, be prepared. The main floor houses a small kitchen, with a microwave, full fridge and stove, flat cooktop, plus dishwasher and just enough plates, cups, glasses and utensils to get by. Don't plan on cooking a big meal though. It's best for breakfast, and serving up take-away. The adjacent living space had a large, 'pleather' (ie: looks like but isn't leather) couch and matching chair and the flat screen TV is mounted on the wall beneath a media unit, and across from the couch so it's a pleasant place to sit. Behind the occasional chair, is a small dining table, seating 6, then a sliding door, and screen out to a large but unfurnished patio. It would be nice to offer up 4 outdoor chairs and a couple of small side tables to enjoy a cocktail. The 2nd bedroom on the main floor, is larger than the upstairs, and houses a Queen size bed, end tables, with lights, and a closet. There is no TV in that room; something else they should add. The 2 bedroom unit was decorated to match the older style home. We chose the Waterview apartment mainly to sit on the balcony but sadly was too cold. The bedroom we stayed in was very comfortable. With a large bed and table to use. Bit noisy from road. The bathroom small. Step into bath for shower. Kitchen had everything but we didn’t cook. Great to have washing machine/dryer. Lounge area spacious however a very small TV which isn’t the usual, needs to be updated. The iron too? The only heating is a wall heater in lounge room and 1 bedroom and a portable oil heater in 2nd bedroom which we had to move into our bedroom to keep us warm enough. Kitchen was freezing. I wouldn’t like to stay there in the cold months. The larder across the road has closed down but is replaced by BlacFig which is a huge coffee/deli place.

Salamanca Terraces is a fantastic location. We stayed in a two bedroom apartment - very large bedrooms, bathroom and separate laundry on top levels, open plan lounge, kitchen and dining room on lower floor with separate toilet. Everything you could need, very clean. We were more than happy here and would definitely stay again. Great place and you cannot beat the location- restaurants next door and markets 1 minute away on Saturday. Tip: check-in is as Lenna which is just across the road and up a little but the hill is steep, if there are a few people I would recommend sending one person to check in and leave the others outside the Salamanca Terraces. Great accommodation, enjoy.

The location is very good. There is a parking space at the door. It is convenient and fast. The room is very clean. The toiletries are complete. It takes a few minutes to go to the Salamanca market and the port. Except for the wind, the sound is not good. Others are very satisfied.
