This hotel is a short bus ride from the main train station. The rooms are modern & ours was large. No one & no instructions on how to turn on the lights or operate the roll down shutters or anything else in the room. It was frustrating. There are large patio doors (no patio though) that open with electric roll down shutters. But our room faced busy train tracks & so leaving those doors open meant hearing VERY frequent train traffic late into the night & then starting again in the early morning. It wasn’t pleasant. Another thing to know about this hotel is the A/C is controlled & is central to the ENTIRE hotel and it’s not cool in the rooms🥵. There is NO adjusting it in your room or for your room 🥵. It is just what it is. We were advised to open our patio doors to get more air🤪. That would work if it’s cool outside AND there were not the train traffic! There is no ventilation fan in the bathroom and that just adds humidity to the room with no way to vent it. So this hotel is modern meets we don’t trust you. We would not stay here again & from now on even if the hotel says there is a/c we will have to ask the further question about who controls it & the temp.

This review was written by my 8-year old daughter: About this hotel: It is a family hotel. If you are a kid, the first thing they are going to do is give you a teddy bear. It has a swimming pool and a gym. The swimming pool is really cool and it has a small waterfall built into a rock. The gym is quite big itself but we didn't go there. It has a nice view and a nice hotel restaurant. The food is really good and they have a really great breakfast. You order the main food and you get to choose the side dishes from a breakfast bar. For the main food, I picked omelet - it is quite yummy but it was not salty enough. For the side dishes, I picked cereal, kiwi and juice. They were all really yummy and sweet. You should go to Dorint. I give this hotel a five star review. -- From the parents' side a few additional notes: On the negative side - There is no AC in the apartment, so while this may not matter in the summer, it was quite warm during our visit (30-35C). It cools off nicely in the evening, but there are no screens on the window, so you'll likely end up with a few moths or other bugs in the room if you leave the windows open. On the positive side, they really cater well to families - from the teddy bear at check-in to a little board game on the back of the kids menu, to the small playground area (which seemed to be good for 4-6 year olds). My husband and I stayed here for the first leg of our honeymoon. The hotel was a little outside our price range, but we decided to treat ourselves, and we were not disappointed! Our room had a gorgeous balcony view of the Alps and the Lauterbrunnen valley. The breakfast buffet was amazing- cold cuts, lots of fresh fruit, breads, a large selection of jams, and eggs to order. We also finished every night of our stay with a trip to the hot tubs/spa area. Sitting in the outdoor hot tub during a heavy snowfall was definitely a honeymoon highlight. We also loved the hotel location- it's so close to the Wenger train station that it made exploring the rest of the mountain area with day trips so easy to plan. We had an amazing stay and would strongly recommend Hotel Silberhorn if you're looking for a hotel with a great view and yummy breakfast!

I've traveled across six continents and stayed in over 200 hotels of varying prices. Unfortunately, this has been one of the most disappointing experiences I've encountered. The lack of professionalism and minimal services, combined with exorbitant prices, made this stay quite unpleasant. Positive Aspects: The only positive aspect is its location. Negative Aspects: -Despite booking and paying for a three-person apartment, we were given a double room, even though we were a group of three -The room was incredibly small and came with a steep price tag of 260+ euros for one night. In reality, it's more in line with a 50 euro room at best. -Upon returning to the hotel at 23:00 after dinner, we found the main door locked with no information on how to enter. Our attempts to reach the emergency room number went unanswered, and we ended up waiting for over an hour with a child. Despite seeking help from people on the street and even calling the police, it was only after several attempts that the police (118) managed to unlock the main entrance. Additionally, I tried reaching out to booking.com's emergency number, but even they couldn't establish contact with the property's so-called emergency number. -The toilet and bathroom were incredibly tiny. -I strongly advise against staying at this deceptive hotel. Opt for a hostel instead. This establishment is not worth visiting and should not exist.

The hotel is halfway up the hill, some distance from the Grindelwald center and the train station. The hotel also has a shuttle bus that can be transported. We are self-driving. There is free parking in the hotel. It is relatively close to the cable car station of the first mountain. There are not many types of breakfast at the hotel. But it is enough, the biggest feature is the scenery, so beautiful! Whether it is a room or a place to have breakfast, look out for the snowy mountain, if you come to grindelwald next time, you will stay here!

I booked one night. Check-in was uncomplicated. As many writers already, everything is available at the room via remote control. I personally don't like this now so much. I had problems to operate the shower. Otherwise everything would be positive to assess except a big decline point: the bed was related to a plasticized Molton. You know of children's beds so nothing runs on the mattress at night... result/ I sweat like anything else. Awakened at 3 plots of night: plitschnass. I had no 2. pyjama with it and I was located the rest of the night in my own sweat. Very unpleasant!

This hotel is especially suitable for bringing children together. The room is large, there are two large beds, and the kitchen can cook a little bit. The location is also very good, about 700 meters from the East Station! With swimming pool, this is the best value for money hotel, highly recommend this hotel

The view from the rooms are spectacular - you can see the mountains, the town and the river right off the balcony. The breakfast was delicious, local meat and cheeses with some fruit, eggs, pastries and drinks. The staff was VERY friendly. The rooms were spacious and clean. It’s a short walk (15 minutes) from the train station and a little less to the main part of town, but it’s all very pretty and scenic. Also, easy access up to Lauterbrunnen, Wengen, Murren, Grindelwald and Jungfraujoch, etc. We would absolutely stay here again!
