Hyatt House Kanazawa
4.7/5129 Reviews
My family (2 kids) stayed at this hotel for 3 nights and really enjoyed the city as well as the hotel. I will start with the positives. We stayed at a one bedroom suite with laundry machines which is very convenient and by far the largest hotel room we stayed in Japan. Our kids slept comfortably in the living room on the sofa. The kitchen is very well designed with a huge fridge and sitting areas. The front desk was very helpful in my trip planning with onsen suggestions and they also booked us kimono rental and restaurants after we checked in. The lobby is spacious and we enjoyed our complimentary breakfast. The location is very conveient being right by the JR station and a big shopping mall. I only have 2 minor issues. First, they weren't willing to make us dinner reservations before check in which seems to be an overal issue with Japan hotels. Second, the breakfast offering is way better at Hyatt Centric, the sister hotel next door and is connected at the lobby area. however, we were turned away when we tried to get breakfast at Hyatt Centric even though some prior reviews said they wre able to do that.
The Hotel Sanraku Kanazawa 21th December 2022 Open

I’m here now and want to write about my experience as it’s happening. I’m blown away at this property. The beauty, the people, the quiet…except for the waterfall which you hear if you’re outside. I have a balcony room. The AC is splendid! There’s a tub inside the large shower area. The shower water is a little weaker than I normally care for, but YMMV. Breakfast is a huge buffet with very nice options, all Japanese and all high quality. Both mornings, I’ve been served an amuse. Tonight I’ll try dinner for the first time here, and no doubt it’ll be delicious. If you opt out of housekeeping, they leave you a big bag of two each large towels, hand towels and bath towels. Housekeeping is as quiet as a church mouse. I arrived at the Kanazawa train station, and even though I knew that there would be a shuttle bus, and which side to exit from, I didn’t know which one was mine. This information is not on the website, so I’ll tell you that you exit on the west side, and upon exiting, turn to the right, where the group bus waiting area is. And watch for a bus that is white with an orange *****e on the front. One other word of caution. There are two hotels that are named the same. Just because you see the hotel name on the outside, that may not be yours. Do you want to be sure that the driver and the accompanying guide know that the one you want is on this particular street. It’s a really new hotel, as it’s only been open for about a year. I upgraded and got the lounge access and that’s been totally worth it! The afternoon suites are so stunningly gorgeous and there’s a cocktail hour also in the afternoon, but I think it’s really like three or four hours long. The staff speaks their English, but have your Google translate ready for words that they may not automatically know. However, I will say they are extremely eager to understand and please you. I highly recommend this hotel!!
Hyatt Centric Kanazawa

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay in Hyatt Centric Kanazawa! The room is so spacious which is rare based on Japanese standard. The hotel and rooms are stylishly decorated. Location is another five stars. I already start to look forward to go back for another stay!
Hotel Nikko Kanazawa
4.8/5209 Reviews
Fantastic hotel with spacious rooms and very friendly staff. We chose Nikko Kanazawa because of its proximity to the train station. Hotel Nikko is actually Kanazawa’s tallest building, designed by a Japanese-French team. Rooms located on 21st-25th floors have beautiful views. Nikko is connected to the Higashi ( eastern) side of the station by the underground passageway through the Porter building. Our room at the 21st floor was large, clean and modern with a fantastic view over the city towards the Sea of Japan. It was very relaxing at the end of the day to sit in arm chairs and watch the sunset. Service was excellent. We found a good restaurant on the sixth floor of the Forus shopping center adjacent to the train station (on the right if you look at the eastern entrance to the station through the giant Torii gate). The name is Morimorizushi Kanazawa Ekimae-ten (sushi), you can't miss it - there will be people on the benches waiting outside. The line goes fast, just don't forget to take your ticket at the entrance. This hi-tech kaiten (conveyor belt) sushi joint is a fantastic place for excellent sushi at reasonable price. It is only 4-5 min. from Hotel Nikko and on rainy day you can reach it by the underground passage. We liked Hotel Nikko and would stay here again.
Ana Crowne Plaza Kanazawa
4.2/546 Reviews
The hotel definitely feels a bit old and tired, but it's still very clean and comfortable with excellent service. I was upgraded to what was essentially a junior suite due to my status and found the room to be very spacious and comfortable. The pillows were too soft for my taste but luckily there was a harder pillow in the closest. The toilet has an automatic bidet which will raise the lid as you get near it and then automatically flush (fancy!). Every morning the staff would also provide newspapers, which I thought was really old school. Location-wise this hotel can't be beat. You're literally right next to Kanazawa Station which gives you easy transportation access and also puts you close to dining options. There are a lot of malls around the station with good restaurants and shops. There's also a large 711 just a few steps away. The only gripe I had about the room was that I found the sink area to be a bit too small and there was little space for me to put my toiletries.
Kanazawa Tokyu Hotel
4.3/598 Reviews
When visiting Kanazawa, there is a huge choice of accommodation to choose from. But for location, ease, comfort and value, you cannot go past the Kanazawa Tokyu. The facilities are clean and modern. The staff are amazingly helpful. But the location makes it our No1 choice. It is easy to walk to the castle and gardens, and even the historic geisha district. Erica, the concierge, was particularly helpful, booking restaurants for both nights (Italian and Tempura, at our request). She was spot in with the restaurants, interpreting our requests on both occasions. This is not the first time we have stayed here, and we would not hesitate to recommend this place to any visitors to Kanazawa, who are selling comfort, security and value.
Kanazawa Hakuchoro Hotel Sanraku -Natural Hot Spring-
4.6/5123 Reviews
A bit dated and a a little bit tired, but what a lovely hotel with large rooms and great location. Sitting areas in the room were wonderful, the onsen was very nice, we really enjoyed our stay here. Everything we needed for the two days we were in Kanazawa were within easy walking distance. It's location counts for a lot. We had a room that faced the castle though it was not high enough to let us look over the castle grounds. Still looking into the hillside at nature was a nice change for us. We never ate at the hotel because we thought the cost for breakfast (though I'm sure it would have been good) was high and we tended to wander the town for our other meals. Free shuttle back to the train station was nice but a little more information on how to catch it from the train station would have been nice.
Ryokan Asadaya
4.9/57 Reviews
Kanazawa City ”Asada Family” and ”Asada Family Ryokan” are listed separately. Even if you search for ”Asada family”, ”Asada family” in Kanazawa city will not be hit. I already posted a review, but for some reason it was posted on a new account. Add it to your original account. This is the inn that impressed me so much. It is one of the top long-established inns in Kanazawa. We were treated to lunch at an event in the heat wave. The dining space is comfortably prepared. He is particular about the dishes he serves, incorporates local ingredients, and adjusts the seasonings to suit the people who gather for the dinner. Everything is arranged by thinking about what kind of event and what kind of people will gather. It is a store that you will want to use for auspicious occasions. Of course, this inn is recommended for elderly people who want to enjoy the hospitality of Kanazawa.
