A fascinating hotel with the most unobtrusive entrance ever! A great location in Gent's pedestrian zone, so straight out into the historic centre. Excellent, friendly - and very efficient - staff througout the hotel. And a six star breakfast! And a delight for fans of cast-iron framed buildings. It was the end of a brilliant trip and we're very gratefu to Hogan Holidays for organising it for us.

Residence Inn Ghent

The room is spacious and comfortable, a little far from the city center. I felt that the cleaning was not done very carefully: there was dust in the corners and the cabinets next to the sink. But this is because I have mysophobia, so according to ordinary people’s standards, I should be able to pass! Breakfast is delicious for children, including fruits and cereals. Overall, I loved this stay.
Ghent Marriott Hotel

The location is fantastic, right on the water and you can walk out the door to explore Ghent. The hotel itself is fine, not the most modern/ nicest Marriott I have ever stayed at and certainly not the worst. Parts definitely seem dated. There is a parking garage under the hotel- and you can park there for a nightly fee. The service was not good. When I checked in there was absolutely no recognition of my Ambassador Elite status and no benefits of that status were explained to me. I asked about a suite upgrade, and the girl that was checking me in was fine but another girl (long straight dark brown hair) yelled over from the other side of the counter in a very rude way saying she took care of it already (cutting off the other associate). Our room was not a suite- so she didn't take care of it. Then I asked about a late check out and she yelled over again saying she put it in the system. When I asked if our keys would continue to work she looked at me like I was an ***** and said she took care of it. Which she didn't- we had to get our cards re-keyed the next morning, and they had no note in the system that we previously asked for a late checkout. It felt completely unprofessional- if the other associate wanted to answer my questions or manage my check in process, she could have easily done it by walking over and having a professional and pleasant conversation with me not by yelling over and cutting off the person who was helping me. It felt like she was annoyed that I was asking about the perks that come with the my Marriott status, not welcoming of a new guest to the hotel. Neither the girl who claimed to have taken care of everything, or the girl checking us in explained anything about perks, and I felt so frustrated (about the rude interaction) when they handed me my keys that I didn't even ask. I walked up to the desk after and explained the situation to a male associate standing there who could not have been more kind, apologetic and welcoming. There is no lounge, so he gave us two drink coupons, and said a buffet breakfast at the restaurant was included instead. They also mentioned that the mini fridge was included, but it only had like 3 small bottles total in it (one water, one soda and one beer) so it was not a very big perk. Overall, Ghent was beautiful and the hotel is in a great location. I would stay here again with a very low bar set for service from the front desk.
Yalo Urban Boutique Hotel Gent

What a beautiful hotel! Rooms were very nice. The restaurant was completely booked online. Even when check-in, it was still asked if it was possible to book a table for 2. This was fortunately possible! And what a nice restaurant (adviser!) Also breakfast next morning was well arranged. Friendly staff and a good location (5 min and you are heart center) We will certainly come back here again!

the hotel was a total surprise as it was booked for me. The staff are welcoming, nothing too much trouble. The room was spacious, clean, and the bed huge and extremely comfortable. the double size shower was also great, as was having both a nespresso machine and a kettle and frdige in the room. Even the complementary chocolates were a revelation - no pre-packaged mints here. Breakfast buffet was fresh and extensive and not having to checkout until 12 was a very nice feature. The hotel is in a great location in the centre of the old part of the city and was surprisingly quiet for the central location. The restaurant was also amazing - edible works of atrt with incredible flavours. I cannot wait to return.
Leopold Hotel Oudenaarde

Great stay, hotel was clean and comfortable with plenty of parking right outside. Variety of food for breakfast was pretty good (for continental standards) and staff were all friendly and helpful. Hotel was within easy walking distance to Oudenaarde town centre which was a nice little town.

Our room was an executive room due to the upgrade but it was also not ready at 4pm. The layout of the room is perfect in terms of size and space. The faucet was loose, not turning. Hot water was difficult , took a long time to have warm water. There were ring residue of toothpaste and other stuff in the bathroom. There were calc deposits and molds. Complimentary water missing. Less tea option or flavor. The curtain was loose on the side. But other than that, it was a nice stay. Calm city, nice city to recharge.
Hotel de Flandre Ghent

Eight of us in 4 rooms stayed here for our first visit to Ghent. Having read some of the recent reviews I as a bit anxious as to how it would turn out but I can only speak as we found things. First of all, the location is just perfect. Situated on a no-through road the hotel was very quiet and access to all the main sites was brilliant. All of the rooms were very nice and our particular room on the top floor had a great view across to the spires of Ghent. Breakfast was buffet style and although nothing special, it was perfectly adequate. The staff were very friendly and helped when prompted to refill supplies (which was perhaps more frequent than it should have been). We found all of the staff very pleasant and helpful which made our stay all the more pleasant. We came in 2 cars which we parked in the Ramen car park 2-3 minutes walk away. Although quite expensive (around £12 a day) it was significantly cheaper than other car parks close by. All in all we had a lovely trip to Ghent and we will certainly return. When we do, we will be booking Hotel de Flandre again
