It's easily accessible from downtown Taipei in about an hour and a half. Since I bought my ticket in advance, boarding was smooth. I went in the afternoon, so I was able to enjoy the sunset view. The cable car ride to the final stop takes 30 minutes. I bought a day pass, so I got off along the way and explored some temples. It was a great deal.

Such a wonderful and affordable attraction for families with young children! 🐼🦒❤️Taipei Zoo is huge, with so many different animals to see and explore! The admission fee is incredibly reasonable, making it a great place for families to spend a few hours without breaking the bank. It’s definitely worth setting aside enough time to explore, especially when visiting with little ones, as there’s quite a bit of walking involved.Highly recommended for families travelling to Taipei with kids! 😊

The location of the hotel is excellent . The airport bus stop just Infront of the hotel and if those who wish to go to Jiufen, the bus stop is just 100m away . Da an mrt station is just 10 mins walk away . Breakfast was excellent . It’s cheaper to book room include breakfast . We stayed for our breakfast from 0800-1030 hours ! The only setback was we were not allowed to extend our checkout time by 1 hour as the receptionist claimed the hotel fully booked for the day but however if we wish to extend, we can but have to pay !

We recently stayed at the Dinosaur Kingdom Family Room and transferred to a Premier Twin Room the following day. Overall, we had a wonderful stay. The staff were consistently kind, helpful, and accommodating, which we truly appreciated. We especially enjoyed the family room—it was thoughtfully designed and perfect for traveling with a young child. I had initially planned for a two-night stay in this room, but unfortunately, renovations were scheduled to begin the following day. This was a bit disappointing, as it made our time there feel quite short, especially with other activities already planned during our trip. In comparison to other five-star hotels we’ve stayed in, I did find the lack of flexibility with early check-in a bit surprising, particularly for the themed room. We had hoped to settle in earlier, and similarly, the following day’s transfer to the Premier room was not available early as it was fully booked. While this was different from what I’m used to, I do understand that this may be part of their standard protocol. On a positive note, we loved the buffet, and the rooms were very comfortable. The complimentary drinks were a nice touch, and the playroom area was excellent—clearly designed with families in mind. It was also lovely to see the hotel organizing activities for children. During our stay, there was a special event (like a children’s appreciation day?), where me and my baby were able to participate in arts and crafts and even received small prizes, which made the experience extra memorable. The swimming pool was decent, though not very large, and the water was quite cold, so we ended up enjoying the bathtub instead. One area for improvement would be cleanliness. We noticed visible dust in the room, which was concerning—especially since the room is designed for small children, and for someone like me who is diagnosed with allergies to multiple types of dust mites. I did raise this with Lara at the lobby, who kindly apologized and mentioned she would inform housekeeping. However, upon transferring rooms the next day, I still noticed dust in certain areas, which made me question the thoroughness of the cleaning. Separately, I also observed that some toiletries (such as conditioner and lotion) were nearly empty upon arrival, suggesting they may not have been checked or replenished prior to our stay. Despite these points, we genuinely had a pleasant experience overall and would consider returning. I’m also excited and curious to see what the next theme for the family rooms will be after the renovations.

I stayed here nine years ago, and its convenient location was a major plus, as was the attractive window design in the rooms back then. The facilities are still decent now, but they're starting to feel a bit outdated. The air conditioning temperature control is inaccurate; it's either too cold or too humid and hot. The lack of disposable toiletries, and even conditioner, is quite inconvenient, but I respect the environmental policy. As I've gotten older, my sleep has become lighter, and I've started to notice how poor the soundproofing is. I could constantly hear the elevator doors opening, and even feel the vibrations from the trains downstairs. The price was a bit high during the holiday season, but it's still a good option given its downtown location.

I stayed for 5 consecutive nights, and from my room, I could see Taipei's landmarks like Taipei 101 and the Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall. Every day, I could also grab free snacks from the hotel's 'gan-a-pu' (a small convenience store), and they even provided a small bag for them, which was a thoughtful touch. The only minor drawback was one night when I was woken up by some noise. I called the front desk, and they immediately sent staff up to investigate. They said it was a pipe sound. After inspection and repair, the noise stopped, so their efficiency was quite high.

Some hotels give you a room. Shangri-La Far Eastern, Taipei gave us a base for a trip we'll talk about for years. From the moment we walked in, the place felt considered, elegant without being cold, warm without losing its polish. That balance is rare, and it set the tone for everything that followed. Traveling with kids changes what matters most in a stay, and this hotel understood that instinctively. My children felt safe here, genuinely safe, the kind of safe that let them run ahead in the lobby and laugh without me flinching. Security throughout the property was excellent, present but never intrusive, the kind of quiet competence that lets a family actually relax instead of staying on guard. The location did the rest. Close enough to walk to some of Taipei's best food, the kind of meals that turn into stories you tell later, and near enough to the city's main sites that our days felt full without ever feeling rushed. Every outing started and ended easily, which meant more time enjoying Taipei and less time managing logistics. Back at the hotel each evening, the rooms were spacious, immaculate, and quietly luxurious, the kind of space that makes you want to slow down. Staff treated our kids with the same warmth and respect they showed us, which matters more than most hotels realize. This wasn't just a comfortable stay. It was a beautiful one, the kind that makes you rethink what a family trip can feel like when everything, safety, comfort, location, care, comes together the way it should. We left grateful, and we'll be back.

The room was spacious, and the well-designed lighting made the absence of a window hardly noticeable. The bed was comfortable, and having extra pillows readily available in the closet was a thoughtful touch. The bathroom was the highlight of my stay. The excellent water pressure and consistently hot water from both the shower and bathtub made every bath incredibly relaxing. And breakfast was better than I expected. The location is perfect for both shoppers and business travelers, ease access to MRT Blue-line. For an empty bag of souvenir, after party shots or late bight worker, there is FamilyMart, 7-Eleven, and 24hrs Carrefour that fulfil yourself within 300m walk around the hotel.

I’ve seen a lot of videos recommending this hotel so i booked it. Location is great but it’s not near to the station, you have to walk around 10-15mins to Ximen station and about 20mins to Taipei main station. Staffs were just neutral, not super friendly but they do their jobs. Check in was smooth (they have 24hrs front desk) and I requested for 2 additional pillows (they only provided 2 in the room) and they granted my request with no additional payments. What i didn’t know is how thin the walls are and We got unlucky with the room next to us. He set an alarm almost every minute with different ring tones. And he didn’t wake up from his own alarm 🥲I went down to front desk and earplugs were given for free. We ended up canceling our 1st day trip due to lack of sleep. By the next night, I sleep better (but still keep waking up because earplugs hurt my ears) ‼️thin walls and noisy ceiling (i think it’s from the pressure when someone is using the water idk) ✅super cold ac (good for summer)

The location is good, with a bus stop right outside the hotel, which makes getting around very convenient. The lobby is beautiful, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. However, considering the overall standard of the hotel, I expected better maintenance of the room. The bathroom felt quite dated, and the shower curtain did not prevent the water from getting onto the bathroom floor. I also noticed stains on the carpet and a towel with a hole in it. Considering the price I paid, I expected a higher standard of room maintenance. Overall, the stay was okay, but there is definitely room for improvement in terms of maintenance.

The hotel's location isn't super convenient, you'll need a taxi to get around. However, they do provide a shuttle bus service, and on weekends, there's even a shuttle to Jiantan Station for the Shilin Night Market. The hotel's decor has a very distinctive style, and the service is excellent. Staying in the back building is a bit inconvenient as it requires a shuttle, but the staff are very helpful and the shuttle arrives quickly when called. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, and each comes with a dehumidifier. The food is delicious, but remember to make a reservation in advance for the Yuan Yuan Restaurant on weekends, as it fills up quickly and doesn't accept walk-ins. We ended up going to the cafe for beef noodles and bubble tea, which were both very good. I wouldn't recommend the salt and pepper chicken, though.

This is probably the most cost-effective hotel in Taipei. The room size is decent, but it's definitely showing its age. There was a stale, sweaty smell in both the room and the hallway. The executive lounge service was excellent, no complaints there. However, the front desk service on the first floor was absolutely terrible. An elderly lady couldn't hear what the staff member was saying, and the short-haired staff member repeated herself several times with extreme impatience, then threw things and rolled her eyes, which was quite disgusting. There were a lot of Japanese guests, and it was very noisy at night. The low service score is due to the front desk; the F&B and the executive lounge staff were all very professional.

I highly recommend this hotel. All the staff are very friendly and lovely. The rooms are clean, and the hotel is spotless; every floor smells nice. Plus, there's a kids' club for children to play in, and they provide instant noodles and snacks anytime. We went as a family of three (parents and child) and asked for extra pillows, which the hotel promptly provided. On the day we left, we forgot our child's doll, and the hotel kept it for us. Just a 3-minute walk from the hotel, you'll find a Sanrio-themed 7-Eleven, and right opposite that is the entrance to Ximen Underground Street. Having stayed at multiple hotels around Taipei especially this area, this hotel is now my go-to hotel. Good location, it's close to the popular ximending and the Taipei station is just a short walk away. Multiples 7-11 and family mart around this hotel. I booked the room with city view, it's big and the bath tub is especially nice as I looked forward to a hot tub soak after my daytime activities. The laundry room has 4 washing machines and 4 dryers. The capacity of them is huge, I did my washing with 3 days of clothes for 2 pax and there's still room for more clothes. There's a packing area for your luggages at the lobby, the weighing machines are especially useful to check your luggage weight just before your flight.

We stayed for 3 nights with 2 adults and 1 toddler, including breakfast. Pros: Excellent location: Direct access from Exit Z8 of Taipei Main Station's underground shopping mall. All hotel facilities are on the 4th floor, except for the breakfast area: a play area for toddlers, a dedicated play zone for children, and complimentary snacks from 2 PM to 4 PM (redeemable with room key). Bottled water is available for self-service all day. Reasonable room size: Plenty of space to move around even after unpacking. Responsive staff: Provided reasonable assistance promptly. Breakfast on the 37th floor: Tables are well-spaced, offering great views. Some dishes vary daily, including tea eggs and ********* sausages with chicken drumsticks. Areas for improvement: Exit Z8 is convenient but has no elevator. You'd need to go out one block earlier for elevator access. To get from the room to breakfast on the 37th floor, you need to change elevators. The hotel doesn't proactively clean the room, but you can request trash disposal and towel changes.

The staff were incredibly welcoming. As soon as I entered the room, I could feel the hotel's thoughtful and cozy decor. The private hot spring bath was huge and even had a cold spring water pool, which was perfect for a refreshing rinse after a soak. The mini-bar in the room had a great variety of drinks. In the afternoon, they delivered complimentary fruit and snacks, and in the evening, there was even plum wine for a nightcap – absolutely fantastic! Shuttle bus from mrt station was on time, reception service was great. Room was dimly lit for the intended ambience. Use a swimwear that you intend to toss afterwards because of the sulphur smell cus the milktea looking onsen water smell will linger. Outdoor onsen was much better than private room onsen because of the view and rainy-cooling weather. Felt like heaven soaking in their 39-43 degree celcius hot pools & their cool pools. Kinda far from the restaurant/ eateries outside so prepare to take the shuttle bus out or uber, if not you can just pay more for the japanese restaurant. Travel adapters can be borrowed at a refundable 200NTD deposit. Overall, I believe this is the best “outdoor” onsen experience in Beitou. But i’m sure there are better indoor options.

The room is clean and big. There is also a small patio ,but unfortunately it was raining, so we didn't get to enjoy it much. The spring bath inside the room is a bonus, very relaxing and no need to go through the hassle of being naked in public bath. The spring water bath made my skin smooth and soft. The hotel also has public bath and will offer 2 free entries during our one night stay. Will definitely consider to come back again as it's so convenient to get to, only 35 minutes from Taipei station.

We are long-time Taipei residents and now whole of Beitou area pretty well becuause we like hot sorings very much. Relaxing undisturbed atmosphere of this hotel is certainly big advantage. Its clean to perfection with minimalistic style of high-end japanese style onsen. i loved wooden floorings in the rooms , great hot spring bath with convenient hot spring water and mountain water taps so you can regulate the temperature you like. outside atmospheric is so amazing natural you wake up and feel yourself like somewhere deep in the jungle forgetting for sometime that you are close walking distance to Xinbeitou station. I walked around in the morning to Beitou Hot Spring Museum area, had wonderful breakfast with family and felt shiawase along every moment i stay there

Xinyi District/Taipei 101 Taipei|2.4km from city centre
The location is very convenient, with Xinyi District right downstairs. However; the service at the front desk was disappointing. Due to a change in our plans, we booked one additional night and asked whether we could simply remain in the same room without checking out. As the new reservation was made by different person, we did not realise that our original to had a Taipei 101 view and was priced higher. The front desk insisted that we had to pay th difference to stay in the same room. While I understand that hotels have policies regarding different room catergories, (at the end we still paid, not we unwilling to pay) the staff’s attitude was very rigid and unfriendly, with little effort made to explain the situation or offer an alternative. I stayed at this hotel last year and was given a complimentary upgrade to the same room type. This time, we had already booked two rooms for five nights before adding the extra night, so I expected a 5 star hotel to handle the situation with more warmth and flexibility. Unfortunately, the front-desk experience left us feeling very disappointed

The room facilities were well-maintained, and the front desk service was excellent. The hotel's location is superb, with convenient transportation. However, the deposit issue has been a hassle. It's been three weeks since I returned home, and more than 15 business days have passed, but the deposit still hasn't been refunded! I've contacted the hotel twice and my bank, but it's still unresolved! Usually, deposits are refunded instantly upon checkout. I've never encountered such a poorly managed 5-star hotel; it's truly unacceptable!

Ximending Commercial Area Taipei|3.46km from city centre
Hygiene: There's a magnetic sticker on the door, so you can request daily cleaning. The housekeeping staff are incredibly efficient; the room was sparkling clean by the time I finished breakfast. Facilities: The room isn't small, and the window offers a view of Ximending street. It has a smart TV for screen mirroring, so you can watch Netflix and YouTube. The bathroom has a separate wet and dry area. Disposable slippers are provided, but not disposable toothbrushes, toothpaste, or shower caps. The soundproofing is good, but the air conditioning fan is too loud, even on the lowest setting. The breakfast menu changes daily and is mostly Western. Free drinks and snacks are available from afternoon to evening. Environment: It's right next to Ximen MRT Station, and there's a bus stop nearby that goes to almost all city attractions. Ximending is just around the corner, very lively at night with lots of food options. Downstairs, there's a Hello Kitty themed 7-Eleven, an Animate manga store, and a Family Mart. Service: The front desk staff are all very patient and enthusiastic, with excellent service attitudes. Free luggage storage is available. Overall, it's a great hotel. No weaknesses.

Shilin Night Market Taipei|5.89km from city centre
Location wise, it’s near Shilin station. But you need to walk around more than 15 minutes to get to night market. The nearest convenience store is near the station but if you are going as a family with small kids, it’s quite tiring.  Breakfast is perfect must try!! Swimming pool is another must try too!!

Zhongxiao Dunhua Commercial Area Taipei|0.76km from city centre
I enjoyed my stay because the room was huge and very well maintianed, nice gym and there is a pool that was long enough to do a swim work out. The BF was worth it at NTD550, and there is a nearby 7-11 in case you need anything ( snacks, drinks, etc. ). There are also nearby restos and bars via a short walk. The nearby Omakase resto was amazing. Location is a bit off, no malls in the vicinity, but then again, you can easilly take a taxi or uber.

Overall, the stay was satisfying. The room quality, cleanliness, service attitude, and the delicate Japanese hospitality all demonstrated the standard expected of a five-star hotel. The only minor letdown was the somewhat underwhelming food selection in the executive lounge. During my stay, it was largely the same few dishes, lacking variety. The quality and sophistication didn't quite reflect the value expected of an executive floor, and it felt a bit perfunctory, missing any standout highlights. As an executive lounge in a five-star hotel, I believe that an improvement in dish rotation, ingredient quality, and plating details would enhance the guest experience and better meet guests' expectations for an executive lounge. Overall, it's still a quality hotel worth revisiting, and I look forward to seeing further improvements in the executive lounge in the future.

First Impression: The Luxurious Ritual of a European Castle Subtle and Secluded Driveway: As the car turned from the tree-lined Dunhua North Road, it entered a highly private French-style circular driveway, exclusively designed for VIP guests. Museum-Quality Artistic Ambiance: Stepping into the grand and towering lobby, guests are greeted by an aesthetic space adorned with over 1,700 original artworks and exquisite giant crystal chandeliers. Impeccable Welcome Service: The front desk service is attentive and seamless. Upon being seated, guests are immediately presented with a ceremonial special hibiscus welcome tea and hot towels.

Facilities: There's a 7-Eleven nearby and a FamilyMart right across the street, which is quite convenient overall. However, it's a bit far from the subway station, at least a 15-minute walk. The hotel can help call a taxi. Service: The service was good. On the first day, my room had a very strong perfume smell, which made me uncomfortable as soon as I entered. I immediately contacted the front desk to request a room change. After about a 10-minute wait, staff assisted me in successfully changing rooms! Throughout my stay, all my needs were met to my satisfaction! The hotel offers views of Songshan Airport and Taipei 101 on one side, and the Ferris wheel 🎡 on the other!

The hotel is a bit dated, which wasn't exactly what I had hoped for, but I was aware of it when making the reservation. Naturally, I would have preferred more modern facilities; however, the excellent service, convenient location, and outstanding breakfast buffet more than made up for it. The breakfast offered a great variety of hot dishes, fruits, and beverages, and the hotel is just a five-minute walk from the nearest metro station, making it very easy to get around the city. Overall, I had a very pleasant stay and would definitely consider coming back.

The location is great, wished it was slightly closer to the MRT station (around 10 minute walk from Nanjing Sanmin Station). Only 5 minute walk from Raohe Night Market so you don't need to worry about what to eat every night. The hotel is well kept and very clean, we were assigned to a room in B1, no views but not a big issue. Breakfast is available for additional fee (200 NTD per person). Hotel staffs were very helpful and friendly. No gym at the facility but I think it's fairly common for the hotels in this price range in Taipei. We were out and about during the day, the hotel provided us a good night sleep every day of our stay. Overall I recommended this facility.

Hotel location is at Da'an district, nearby to numerous convenient stores, restaurants and grocery market. The serving of hotel breakfast is not much of variety, no customized eggs preferences provided to customer. It considers a minus point as 4-stars culture hotel.

I had an exceptional stay at Éclat Hotel Taipei. The room was immaculate and beautifully designed with high-end touches like a Dyson hair dryer and a Nespresso machine. The staff were incredibly attentive and professional, making the check-in process seamless. I also loved the location it’s in the heart of Da’an District, very close to the MRT and surrounded by fantastic restaurants and convenience stores. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Taipei!
