Regency Torviscas Apartments and Suites

Excellent apartments and amenities. The reception team both on arrival and departure were very very friendly and informative. Only slight downside for us was it was a little too far from the beach and amenities which made it very quiet however this would suit a lot of people. There was an excellent Spanish themed restaurant around the corner from the resort literally 2 minutes which served excellent food and had excellent background music.

Stayed at this hotel with friends. We had three rooms in total. First impressions were good, reception and grounds were immaculate. The Spanish inspired courtyard is beautiful. Rooms:- very dated and definitely need some attention. There were holes in the walls where oldcurtian poles were. Several plugs and light switches did not work. The door handle in the bedroom fell off and did not get repaired even after we spoke to reception. Kitchen is well stocked with plates, cups etc, although the coffee pot needs replacing as rusty in places. Extractor fan works but needs to be updated. Bathroom was a good size, but the toilet flush kept getting stuck. Rooms were cleaned daily and smelt wonderful each time. Pool area:- was clean and there were plenty of sunbeds at all times of the day. Daytime entertainment was good fun and staff were friendly. Breakfast:- we were only bed and breakfast and we were glad about this. The breakfast room was busy and the breakfasts were hit and miss. Fried eggs were good, scrambled were awful. Odd days you got decent pork sausages and then other days you got mini hot dogs. Bacon was either over or under cooked. Continental was OK. Coffee machines were varied and decent. Spa: tried to book on day 3 out of u but nobody was there. I left my name and number and nobody called me back went back day 5, nobody there again but noticed other guests who had left their details had been contacted. Spoke to somebody in the afternoon and was given no reason as to why I didn't get called and the only availability was on my last day. I did not get to use the spa. Location:- Great location, close to everything esepecially a nice bar, shopping centra and twice weekly market. Overall it was a pleasant stay, but I probably would not return.

JOIA El Mirador by Iberostar -Adults Only

Booked through British Airways (BA) Holidays and stayed in a fabulous junior suite with sea view (#1308) from 21 - 27 September. We usually stay at the Bahia del Duque next door and in fact, I visited this hotel many moons ago when Mirador and Bahia were still one resort under the Melia brand. We were excited to try something new based on the consistent five star reviews of El Mirador. Safe to say, the countless accolades are more than deserved. The tone is immediately set upon arrival. The main entrance and lobby exude a sense of tranquility, and the check-in process was incredibly smooth, accompanied by a glass of champagne. One of my key bug bears are hotels that just check you in, slap the roomkey in front of you, and send you on your way to find the room without any explanation of the hotel's facilities and/or important timings to keep in mind (breakfast, spa opening hours, check-out, etc). Happy to report that El Mirador went above and beyond here. In the blink of an eye, the wonderful Isabella appeared who walked us through the hotel grounds and gave us a mini tour of the premises. Subsequently, Isabella passed the baton to the most energetic bellboy who accompanied us up to the room with our luggage. First impressions matter, and the Mirador absolutely nailed it. Room - utter perfection, zero feedback or comments. Hugely comfortable bed, wonderfully spacious bathroom and walk-in closet. A request for more hangers and coffee cups was met in warp speed time. Breakfast: ah-ma-zing. Yiorgi swooping in with glasses of champagne from the moment we sat down, the friendly Amilkar preparing the most scrumptious eggs, and the mother of all breakfast spreads laid out inside. Staff here are absolutely top notch. Breakfast, on many occasions, was the highlight meal of the day and really something to look forward to. Pool - the grounds are immaculately kept, service around the clock and they swing by with freebies during the day (freshly prepared cocktails, Aperol Spritzes, ice cream, etc). We appreciated the little digital buzzers by the loungers to call for food / drink - without fail, someone showed up promptly after a few minutes to take our order. We tended to venture out to the beach for lunch, so can't comment on the food offering at Las Pardelas. On occasion we rocked up late to the pool (early afternoon) and there were always loungers available. Dinner - we tried the buffet once. El Mirador restaurant looks magical at night, tables set up beautifully (mood lighting, fresh flowers) but we found the buffet overpriced in terms of value for money (60 euro / p.p., excluding drinks). I was really pleasantly surprised with La Pergola Restaurant however, probably my favourite dinner at the hotel - class all the way and excellent food (try the sea bass!) Cenador was also lovely and the head waiter (sorry, forgot your name!) has a knack for builing rapport with customers. The bar is a great place to have an aperitif before dinner, or a nightca

I really do not know why this place gets bad reviews. We arrived late and was given food , sandwich apple pear and bottle of water, admitted not the best, was given wrong room but rectified the next day, No problem. This time of year was plenty of sunbeds, although you had people at gates there really was no need. Food was good always something to eat, staff friendly. The drinks were best we have ever had for an all inclusive, Rooms are spacious, we had a great time, It is not on a steep hill so no huffing and puffing to get back to hotel after going to beach, which is 10 min walk. Entertainment was hit and miss but we had some really good nights in the hotel, if you don't want to stay simply pop down road where there is plenty going on. Yes we would most definantley come back. The lay out is a bit odd and underpass to back pool could do with a make over . Add a few plants and cool lighting maybe, Appearance of Hotel could do with a coat of paint, but having said that it is a great bargain all inclusive Hotel.

This hotel and staff could not do enough for its guests. From the moment we arrived we were treated with the utmost care and attention in order to make our two week stay memorable. We found nothing out of place or wanting just as we had found 5 years before on our first visit to this hotel. My only disapointment was that the food in the main dining hall although plentiful and varied, lacked any flavours and seemed to have surcomed to the over cooked or poorly sourced ingredients syndrom. I found myself searching for food that might have a richer taste, with lesser bells and whistles. This was the deciding factor for me as to why I might be in search for a hotel with lesser stars but tastier food for my next trip. Pity!
