We stayed here for a week from Sept 27th as a party of 3 adults and 3 children,9,9 and 11. We had a 2 bed apt on the 3rd floor overlooking the pool. Its a lovely, small but quiet resort. It's perfectly suited for couples who want a quiet relaxing break away, but to be honest, it's not really suitable for children. There is no entertainment day or night and nothing whatsoever to do in the complex at night. I was so disappointed with this and it really took from the holiday. A large majority of the residents were of an older generation, as I believe this used to be a time share complex, so you kind of felt you had to keep the kids quiet and stop them splashing in the pool as a few older guests would throw a dirty look and mutter to their partner about having gotten a bit wet..! Our children were bored after the first day. The pool is nice and heated, but its too small. It narrows in the middle which made it kind of awkward when you're swimming. There are plenty of sunbeds and to be fair, there was no 'sunbed war'..! Yes you had the 7am sunbed snatchers, but there was always free beds The room was ok, bedrooms were a good size but the sitting room was tiny for 6 people. The table and chairs encroached so much into the free space between the couch and the table and then when the couch was pulled out for the kids to sleep, you couldn't pass between the 2 as there was no room..! The TV in the room wasn't smart and I hadn't brought our Chromecast with us so the kids were stuck with a TV with zero English speaking channels..! Oh and only 1 bathroom between 6 people was a big challenge let me tell you..!! NO AIR-CONDITIONING..! This was a truly awful experience. Just a ceiling fan in each room blowing warm air all over the place. It was so bad, one of our kids was up vomiting and couldn't sleep one of the nights because of the heat, it was so stuffy. Hard to believe that in that climate the Apts don't have Air-con..! The balcony was a good size though and nice to be overlooking the pool, but the handrail was covered in bird poo from all the pigeons. I don't think they clean that at all . The fuse board tripped out a few times one morning at 4am leaving us with no fans for about an hour.. Also we woke one morning to someone working on the outside of out balcony. I walked out and there was a man on scaffolding hacking away at the plaster..! I totally understand that repairs are necessary but we were annoyed that we were not made aware the day before that maintenance work would be carried out at 9am on our balcony..! I relayed all these issues to reception and they apologized about the lack of notice but offered little to no resolution to the lack of Air-con in the room. The food was a little hit and miss. I mean the breakfast was nice and there was a huge spread of everything you could ask for, but there was no orange juice. Instead it was diluted orange..! We have just come back from a wonderful week at this hotel, & honestly some of the reviews we had read really put us on edge but for what we paid it’s very basic but has everything you need. We requested a ground floor room as we had a member of our party with limited mobility the hotel happily provided this for us. We hired a double electric scooter for the week, there are plenty of charging points around the pool area ( which gets locked at night) Both pools were clean and tidy, ( the main pool is freezing) we spent most of the week around the adults only heated pool. Pool bar had everything you needed from a full range of bar food and variety of cocktails and drinks, bar staff were wonderfully friendly. The opening times of the bar were a bit hit and miss, some evenings we came back from dinner hoping for a night cap only to find the bar had closed at 7pm rather than the stated closing time of 11pm. The rooms are dated but relatively clean ( we had 5/6 cockroaches in our room whilst we were there, (the hotel provided us with a spray to kill them but it did put a downer on our stay) the beds were super comfy and the cleaners came in everyday to empty the rubbish and put out fresh towels. We slept with the balcony door open all night as it was very hot but you can hire a fan from reception. We took a taxi down into the town every night which cost us on average 5/6 euros. There is a supermarket opposite the hotel ( this was closed the entire week we were there) but there is also a small convenience store by the regency hotel & a bakery ( the pastry’s were delicious) overall we had a wonderful stay, and would defiantly come back if we were looking for a cheep and cheerful holiday.
