Woodland Grange

My family and I recently stayed at the wonderful Woodland Grange Hotel. We read lots of great reviews so decided to give it a try. Thankfully they are now a dog friendly hotel (yayyy!!!). We booked 2 of their king rooms and both rooms were really lovely, super roomy and spotlessly clean (including the bathrooms) with super comfortable beds. On arrival, in my room, there was a gorgeous “Doggy welcome gift box” with blanket, poo bag dispenser (with poo bags), tennis ball and travel water bowl (so cute!). Our dog LOVES presents and wasted no time in ravaging through it all. He snuggled in the blanket and made himself at home within minutes! ALL the staff were so lovely and made such a fuss of him (and us)… It was so sweet. A super helpful lady called Annie personally walked us down to their massive field behind the hotel where our dog was immediately in heaven playing. Having our fur baby with us, it was so convenient to have that fabulous field literally on our doorstep! They also have a gorgeous front garden area too (beautifully lit up at night), with gazebo, outdoor sofas, etc… It looked so stunning! They have a huge restaurant (which, understandably, don’t allow dogs, when really busy) but they have a lovely alternative dining area (which allow dogs) in the bar areas… and they have 2 x different DELICIOUS menus to choose from. Due to family commitments, we were only there for 1 night, so we had breakfast and supper there but the food (at both meals) was absolutely AMAZING and the choices were so great. I noticed on the reception desk, they had won a hospitality award for their food & drinks and we all agreed, it was very well deserved. They even brought a water bowl and treats to our dog when we were having dinner in the bar area (so thoughtful!). Woodland Grange is so conveniently located, as it’s away from the hustle bustle, yet is only a 6min drive to Leamington Spa town centre. What an AMAZING hotel with such special staff… and we can’t wait to stay there again. All the staff were so friendly and so accommodating throughout our whole stay! A special and huge thanks to Oliver, Annie, Lili, Melanie, Katie and all the staff there, for giving us such a wonderful and welcoming stay!!! We have recommended to all and can’t wait to come back again!!!

NOT RECOMMENDED! Terrible customer service, no intention to assist their guests. I emailed them directly TWICE the day before my arrival to POLITELY ask if early check in was possible: no response. I emailed them again in the morning of my arrival, I also called them - no response. I also messaged them via *********** twice on different days - no response. I finally made it to the hotel a couple hours before 3 pm (official check in time) - hotel was closed and not even a single sign to show where the entrance was or what to do. I called them - again had to wait a long time for them to finally pick up - a guy with an Indian accent (I couldn’t get his name that’s why I mention this) answered and was completely RUDE, not polite at all and unprofessional to me when I kindly and very politely ask if there was any chance of early check in. He then came in person to talk to me and again didn’t even let me speak and was completely rude totally trying to get rid of me and raising his voice saying that the room wasn’t ready and that I should come back - HE STILL DIDNT EVEN KNOW MY NAME SO HOW DID HE KNOW THE ROOM WASNT READY. I again kept my cool and politely asked him to please check as it was almost midday and the people before me should have checked out at 11 am latest - he again said no and made me come back at 3 pm with no signs of help at all and not even offering me the option to at least leave my luggage in the hotel or something to help me. Please book elsewhere - this place is a complete and utter disaster. And the reception guy needs to find another job! What a complete disappointment. They don’t even have a proper reception for the hotel, it’s actually the same people that run the restaurant. In the morning of my departure, check out time was 11 AM… but 10:37 AM they were already knocking on my door while I was in the toilet and they OPENED THE DOOR AND ALMOST CAME IN but I was quick enough to stop them and remind them check out time was 11 AM!!!! Not 10:37 AM!!!! They didn’t even apologise! This is an invasion of privacy. Totally unprofessional. Imagine if I had been na*** out of the shower for example? The room looked nice but many things were broken (example shower heard and toilet cover). What a terrible experience. Never coming back and will ensure to review this hotel everywhere!!!! Avoid like plague!

First the Good stuff: Great location Clean, Modern and bright rooms Very comfortable Duvets, pillows , sleep was good Showers and bathroom products were nice. Now the areas that need improvement: Terrible housekeeping service. (We stayed 7 nights..and had to plead for housekeeping with the reception as a policy before 11am evey morning...and even then that was not done all the time. Incomplete cleaning...showers and toilet not cleaned any day..used glasses and mugs not cleared or replaced and nespresso pods not given daily unless asked for. (We were in a premier plus category room) The room had very little storage..we kept our clothes out on the arm chair and bench..but that was acceptable after we got used to that. (They did have a lot of storage under the bed for our large suitcases which was great though.) On the whole..I would probably stay here again ..for the location , confor of rooms and modern facilities in the room. But would not expect great service. (By the way you cannot just go down at breakfast and order an a la carte cappuccino..you have to purchase the full breakfast for approx 10 GBP )

Easy check in; only a short walk from the train station and the main centre. Next to parks and possible to walk to Warwick along the Avon and canal footpaths. Fantastic breakfast and room has everything you need for a short stay.

The location of the hotel is very good, very close to the railway station, facing the street, downstairs is a bar, we live on the top, no sound can be heard. The indoor environment is generally hygienic. It's not bad to go out and live casually.
