Lovely stay. Fantastic value. Breakfast exceptional. Staff helpful and friendly. Don't be put off by the outside as the inside was bright and clean. Have stayed before and will definitely stay again. Big private car park. On local bus route. Lift wasn't working and had quite a walk to our room, so check if it's something you will need. Lovely large bedroom decorated in nice colours. Lots of plugs. Wasn't a hair dryer but had taken one with me. Very comfortable king-size bed. Adequate hospitality tray. All in all, fab.

I wish i could review just the hotel but the parking fine i have just received has completely ruined my experience. We arrived to a payable car park which wasnt an issue.... however, the meter only allows for parking until 9am the next day so we paid for that time. We went to reception who explained that we could give them the car details to verify parking. The machines weren't working so the receptionist wrote them down. We left the hotel at 10am and i have just opened a letter from the car park explaining that i owe £60 for not paying the following morning for 1 hour! It was never explained that we would have to leave the hotel and go back to the car park at 9am to extend this. I have just spoken with the receptionist who explained that giving my number plate at reception was essentially pointless because i needed to go back down at 9am. I wouldnt mind but what's the point in booking an overnight stay expecting a lie in if you then have to go down and pay again at the car park. The hotel needs to sort this out with the car park because i will never be stopping here again. It especially didn't help that they didnt inform us of work being done which meant we had to leave the curtains closed the whole time due to builders outside the window.

Excellent hotel facilities and friendly staff. Downside was uncomfortable bed settee for our 12 year old son, hard pillows, windows you couldn’t open fully and automated check in system.
