Villaggio Cala Mancina

Our first impression of the hotel was very positive. Being located a 5-10 minute walk from the loud centre of San Vito di Capo, it seemed like the perfect place to get some respite after a very intense, stimulating day. Unfortunately, that's definitly not the case. I'd like to start with the positives though. THE GOOD The best thing about this hotel was definitly the staff, which was always very helpful, kind and accomodating of our wishes. We felt very well taken care of at all times during our stay. The rooms were nicely decorated and clean. Even though they might seem a bit dated, in my opinion - it only added to the charm. All beds were very comfortable, including the pull-out sofa, which was quite a pleasant surprise. The breakfasts were well, maybe not the most nuitricious, but if you like starting your day with something sweet you'll enjoy it. (the cornettos and the cake were absolutely delicious and the fruit fresh and sweet) THE UNBEARABLY BAD What struck me as soon as I entered the room was very poor noise isolation. It didn't bother us during the day (even though our neighbours were quite noisy), because we spent most of the days by the pool or on the beach. In the evening however, it proved to be incredibly bothersome. There is a night round of ENTERTAINMENT starting from 9pm and lasting until midnight. What it meant was loud and pretty annoying music blasting from the speakers. The staff was very kind as to turn it down a little bit on request. They couldn't turn it down all the way because of, I assume, hotel policy, even thought literally nobody was joining in on the fun or even staying at the bar. I expected some kind of animations, as this hotel very proudly proclaimed itself a family-friendly resort, however, for the same reason, I figured it would allow for some sort of kid-friendly sleeping schedule. I don't care about my eardrums anyway, so I slept with white noise playing on full volume on my headphones, but I imagine it's not really an option if you're staying with younger kids or if you're more prone to overstimulation. It truly wouldn't bother me if I had any idea what I was signing up for. If there was any sort of information about the entertainment programme on the hotel website, I most likely would've just picked a different hotel and avoided a huge dissapointment. Instead, the marketing focuses on ”moments of relaxation” or ”allowing a peaceful and enjoyable vacation for the whole family”, which is frankly - very misleading and unfair to potential guests. SUGGESTIONS To avoid future misleading potential guests I'd consider highlighting the entertainment programme on the resort's website, INCLUDING the hours the music is playing. Or cutting down on the animations in the late hours of the evening (and at the very least, staying flexible if the demand for late-night entertainment is very low), which would make the Cala Mancina Village a very pleasant place i'd happily visit again. It is strange to read negative reviews and, above all, documented with photos that cannot be said to be false, but our experience has been superpositive and we list them and document them all too. We were 3 nights in this hotel, from 27 to 30 April 2024. There was a very young, smileful, available and friendly staff. Great room, CLEAR and with all the necessary. Regular bathroom may be a little tight but also complete with bidets and towels always clean with daily exchange. I only made a small complaint to the direction because it is not possible that a 3-star has no safe box in the room and/or even at the reception and they answered that they were removed because people didn't know how to use them and block them. (of a whole grass a ray is not good). For the rest, our vote is not changed and it is the best because we were very good both for the size of the room and for the full super breakfast of salt, fresh (cornettes, yoghurt, kellogs, juices, etc.) and stuffed. The hotel is located on the Lungomare but the location of the move is on the other side of the port, about 2 km walking. They told me they are about to start the construction of a new pedestrian bridge that will shorten the distance to less than 1 km and will be really comfortable to walk. Absolutely recommended. Hello by Roby and Lucy by S. Anastasia (Naples).

This was a lovely resort with sea views. The common areas are plentiful and spacious with many locations to relax and take in the scenery. The pool area was very nice. Breakfast was good with hot and cold options. We had dinner one evening at the resort and enjoyed it. The rooms were quite large and comfortable. The bathroom was on the smaller side but adequate.

A fabulous hotel. We stayed in a room with a balcony which was a nice size, very comfortable and clean. The breakfast was wonderful with a lot of choice. Staff were happy and want to help you. They gave us some ideas for different types of restaurants, one that we went to was a pizza restaurant, it was the best pizza I have ever eaten! The hotel is centrally located to the port and the beaches, right in the middle of the roads to take you to the shops. It is quiet with a large car park (payable) and a garden type piazza. There is a fabulous bakery/cafe attached to the building. I would definitely stay again. Do check your rooms though as this is a converted hotel from a very old building so each room is slightly different in shape and size.

UPDATE - following my below review on my initial experience the manager sought me out to apologise and to resolve the issue regarding my room. I was shown the bungalow and an alternative hotel room. The bungalow was cute and if I was travelling as a couple it probably would have been my preferred option. As a solo traveler the hotel room seemed more appealing. It was also very much appreciated to get a heartfelt apology. An additional note regarding breakfast; if you are looking to avoid carbs (not easy in Italy anyway) then fruit and yogurt are really your options (they had a bowl of boiled eggs but that didn’t appeal) I wouldn’t want an English breakfast (I don’t have those in England!) but it really was just rolls and pastries (which did look delicious) My first night here was a disappointment. I was given a box room with a fold out bed (see pics) when I had actually booked a deluxe bungalow. I was told in a very nonchalant way that they were fully booked and there was plumbing issues with the bungalow. It’s a beautiful place for a wedding and wouldn’t begrudge anyone getting married but the music and party was very close to my room and very loud. Dinner was challenging as I don’t eat seafood so had limited options and as mentioned before; trying not to overload on carbs. The menu is heavily seafood based, which I assume is normal for the area, so ordered a salad and was given a bowl of chopped iceberg lettuce
