Holiday Inn Express Morelia Centro Historico

Enjoyed our two night stay primarily because of location. Hotel has some good and not so good points. Breakfast seems to start about 10 minutes each morning. Service is good, however, you have to ask for eggs, etc and there is apparently no menu. Good coffee. Rooms can be noisey, but you are directly on the main square. Only American news channel is CNN. Safety deposit box is difficult to reach if you are under 6 feet or so. Subway and a convenience store are both right next store. No mini-frig. Very clean. I found the staff to be helpful. I could no locate my phone charger and front desk offered a ”loaner”. A/C is my room was located directly above the bed and was loud at time. There may be better options in town?

Hotel is clean and nicely decorated. Service is decent but we had an incident because we celebrated my nieces birthday with a cake while we were having dinner in the restaurant. They didn’t want to accommodate the cake because we didn’t buy it there… but they don’t sell cales and we stayed there four nights and rented five rooms! Another problem we had was the hot water. It took more than 1/2 an hour to come out. I wasted so much water and time just waiting. Other than that and the fact that the elevator wasn’t in service, everything was fine. Food is decent.

Friendly and helpful staff, Good sized rooms, internet is reliable, good water pressure and how water. The pool and grounds are clean and attractive. Plenty of on site parking with a 24 hour attendant. On site restaurant is good - we only had breakfast - which was about 200 pesos per person for the buffet. My only complaint is on the air conditioning. This was not the first hotel I've found that advertises as having air conditioners but the units are set to cool no cooler than 80F. The hallway, lobby, and common areas are adequately cooled but the rooms are hot and hard to get a good night's sleep in.
