Quality Inn Half Moon Bay-Miramar Beach

The hotel is on the edge of Highway 1, it is easy to find, parking at the door. Room facilities are ok, but there is a smell in the room, some pungent, when asked when leaving the store, it may be air freshener, and the other is the main road is still noisy. Breakfast is not bad, typical American style, bread fruit coffee yoghurt and the like.

Different in that my room was over a business, as many of the other rooms are. Hardwood floor - an area rug would be very welcome - large room and bathroom. Complaints, an outlet closer to the bed would be handy, as I use my phone for my alarm clock. Also, a small note posted about how to operate the fire place would be good. TV didn't work so well, so be ready to watch Netflix on your laptop/phone. Good location downtown though, close to food, and good parking.

Charming hotel with a spa, golf course, and a couple of restaurants, located by the ocean. The rooms are clean and well maintained but a bit older (from the hotel staff I learned that there will be some renovation in winter 2023). I loved the patio with the fire pit just to relax, breathe some ocean air, and enjoy in room dining (which was delicious). The staff members are attentive and friendly. The spa has limited availability if you’re booking last minute but the services are good. The hotel provided some bath salts as a welcome gift for my Marriott Bonvoy Gold membership but each time I stayed, my room was upgraded and my checkout time was never extended to 2 pm (even during a mid-week, off-season stay when the hotel was not busy). In room dining options were pretty good and the food was tasty. Beautiful views from the hotel can be enjoyed on sunny days. However, there’s a frequent overcast, even during summer. The piper walking around the property in the evening playing music is quite special and a nice touch. Golf players and families coming here for the day seem to enjoy this place as well. Overall, I’d recommend this place and stay here again.
Half Moon Bay Lodge

Very pleased with the service. I work east coast hours & the front desk attendant extended check-out so I could stay in the room until 1pm. Pool & spa are nice, but that’s about all there is to do onsite. Only one restaurant in walking distance. Location is a 10-20 minute walk to the beach which was great. Only downside, there were flip flops under my bed from a previous guest, dusty TV and remote & small stains on bedding. Pictures are definitely nicer than the rooms themselves. Overall, good for the price.

Someone burned breakfast and caused a fire alarm that woke up every single guest and had to evacuate at 6 am in the morning. Didn't get enough sleep and was very tired the next day to enjoy the beach and other placed we planned to visit. Didn't even get an applogy from the staff. Not happy with the stay. Also the pillow smelled funky and towels were not all new/replaced...especially with Covid still around...disgusting. Paid quite a lot for the value we recieved. Breakfast is very mediocre. If you are going to charge $300+ per night, atleast provide a hot breakfast.
The Miramar Inn
4/5102 Reviews
The Miramar Inn and Suites surprised us because it had some bad reviews on Yelp. However, we completely enjoyed our stay at this small independently owned motel. The room was comfortable and somewhat larger than comparably priced hotels in Bay Area. The king size bed was firm but provided excellent sleep. We did not spend much time in the room but it's always nice to have microwave and refrigerator as well as a decent flat screen TV. The bathroom area was spacious and water pressure was outstanding. The room was cleaned and towels replaced daily. The included continental breakfast was exactly what we needed for starting the day, and the coffee machine in the lobby cranked out excellent coffee drinks between 7-10 am.
