What a wonderful experience we had in Olympia! The only regret is that we only booked for one night. The hotel is located just off the highway south of the city of Olympia. The room was exceptionally clean and modern, with hot water and complimentary Starbucks freshly roasted coffee. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. The gentleman at the front desk provided us with a clear introduction to the hotel and all the necessary assistance we needed.

Check in was an absolute nightmare. I booked through trip.com instead of through hotel for a better deal. When I arrived the hotel audit told me there were two bookings under my name even though I only made one, so when she tried to cancel one it deleted both bookings... Online it says no refunds, and I had already paid for my room, and she was trying to make me pay a second time because she claimed she ”couldn't see my payment.” 🙄 She made me give her the number to the booking agency who basically told her they can't refund the money as per policy. She wasn't going to give me a room at all it felt like unless I paid again. Mind you, I paid $95 or $97 after taxes, no way in hell was I going to let that go and give the hotel more money. NO. Eventually she called her manager which she should have done to begin with and he talked her though how to fix the mistake. I am still angry over this. It was my first time here and it took me over an HOUR to get into a room. I was late to my online conference for work because of this. RIDICULOUS!!!!!! Aside from her, the hotel room was very cozy and comforting. Bed was unbelievably comfortable, so was the sofa in the room. I like that they use neutrogena products in the bathroom as well. Looks like updated flooring in hallway and bathroom which was really cute. I do recommend staying here as I'm sure the above incident doesn't happen all the time. Breakfast in morning was good, VERY polite woman serving. All staff had masks on and I noticed a couple regularly using sanitizer... I'll probably stay again.

Newer hotel but find something else if you can. LVP flooring that echos and the cheapest, noisiest beds. Worst night sleep I’ve had in awhile. You can hear everything in the hallway all night long. Homeless live in the parking lot and I think a few were sharing a room in the hotel which I think explain the high amount of traffic all night long to a particular room next to me. The room was clean. I had the choice to stay at a Red Lion which was cheaper and included continental breakfast. I made the wrong choice. No breakfast here despite the higher price tag. My bad for not paying attention to that having come into town to see a family member in ICU. It was also very hard to find at night. The hotel is behind storage units and not located on the street the address is but the driveway to it is. A very tiny green sign with the numbers are attached to the curb on the driveway. Bizarre.

Pros - they actually had a towel rack near the sink. Many hotels are forgoing this for some reason. The towels themselves where very plush, and the coffee maker can provide two cups of coffee simultaneously. Cons - Extremely poor design of the shower. In order to turn the water one, and it starts cold, very cold, there is no way to turn it on unless you’re STANDING IN THE SPRAY!! The shower has two glass panels one is a glass wall and one is a door. Of course, the solid glass panel is the one next to the spigot. The only way to reach the spigot is to get into the shower and turn it on and there is no way to predict where the water is going to hit and the nozzle is to high up to reach for most people. As a result you get to start your day with a nice cold blast of water from head to toe! But don’t worry this is in lieu of coffee. They do provide coffee in the room but if you go down to the lobby after 9:30AM there is no coffee. Period! Most hotels provide coffee in the lobby throughout the day – not this one and if you don’t have your tail feathers down in the lobby by 9:30AM you are SOL. We booked this hotel to stay their New year’s eve night and New year’s morning the maid decides it’s a grand idea to knock on our door at 9AM in the morning to see if we need service!! There are signs all over the room stating if you need service you have to let them know otherwise, they won’t bother you. Apparently, this does not apply to the day of check out even though checkout is at noon and it was a Saturday and New Year’s day to boot. I called and complained about it and was told – well you should have put your sign out that you were not to be deserved. And I replied that is absolutely no excuse given the date and that check out is not until noon! I will not be coming back and would recommend not staying here unless you like cold showers, no coffee, and being waken up early by the maid. FYI that this hotel also requires that you pay for parking and breakfast.

Very good hotel in Olympia, the price is very high, the town scenery is also beautiful, the breakfast is not bad, the front desk attitude needs to be improved, I hope I can come to this place if I have the opportunity.
Hilton Garden Inn Olympia

Very clean, and friendly staff, as others have mentioned. Truly excellent blackout shade on the window, quite unusual in any hotel. The odd numbered rooms face four lanes of I-5 and are so close to the freeway that you can read the license plates, so be sure to ask for an even numbered room, which faces the entrance to the hotel but is far quieter. There are a few downsides. The breakfasts are not special, but there are no restaurants within walking distance, so it serves the purpose. The hotel is easy to find from the I-5 exit ramps, but if you are arriving from downtown via 14th, the county's signage is very poor, and it's easy to end up back on I-5 unintentionally. Finally, although the property is reasonably new and well maintained, the furnishings are, well, cheap. The prefab shower looks like something from Motel 6. I'm aware that the Garden Inn is designed to be at the bottom level of Hilton properties, but at rack rates of more than $200 nightly, I had hoped for something a bit better.
