It is a small hotel in a narrow street, but it is easy to find. We like to enter the real life of the city where we travel, walking to this hotel, you can see perfectly the houses and life form of the Japanese in Kyoto, in this neighborhood. The hotel is quite new, very wooden and warm light, making it very cozy. The hotel has a bathroom with a bathroom and a small washing machine, several bathrooms and then the shower and bathroom are on the other side of the room, which are quite large. The beds are two, litter type and these with a hairdryer, don't wait for beds like those of Europe. It has a small shirt, but it does the dress. The TV is like a tablet or smaller even jarry And girls ... has a dryer!!! ;) If you give importance to the location, it's a very good choice, you're 1 minute from several bus stops and main streets.

It is not far from Kyoto Station and the nearby traffic is also convenient. The host is a very welcoming young man who speaks Chinese very well! Sleeping comfortably on tatami mats, and the shower and toilet are clean. Very affordable, worth having, haha! I will stay again next time!

What he said here can rent a bicycle. It turned out to be the kind of bicycle rented by the Kyoto municipal government. That kind of bicycle is not very good for Chinese people. I do n’t understand Japanese and I do n’t know how to open it! It's very convenient to live. The subway entrance is just as soon as the elevator comes. The room is quite quiet at night. There are not many people in the room. Everyone is conscious and careful ... the matching of the hotel. For the hardware of several hotels in Kyoto, this is not very good, but it is clean. Downstairs is Kamogawa, there is a bus stop, it is very convenient to go. However, it is a bit dark for a person to go back through Kamo at night, so pay attention to safety.

I had a very relaxing time. The staff member is an artist, so it was nice to be able to talk to him about the concept of the building. Although the space is made of exposed concrete, I could feel the warmth of the people just by hearing that an artist was working on another floor. When I'm staying alone, I'm debating whether to stay in an economy single room or this time's twin room. In any case, please visit us again! Next time I'll go during the season when I can eat shaved ice and curry.

The location is very good - ten minutes walk from the train station. A bonus is its proximity to Higashi Honganji temple and its detached garden Shosei-en. The hostel itself is very well set up and very well run. The facilities are excellent - the kitchen is as good as any I have come across in a hostel in Japan. The bunk beds are comfortable. The lack of privacy curtains was not a problem in my stay, but with less considerate room mates it could be. The showers are very good: plenty of pressure and good temperature control. The common/dining room is spacious and comfortable but I found the piped 'cafe music' from morning to night there irritating. The desk staff were all helpful and competent, and spoke good English. The cleaning staff worked hard to keep the hostel clean, and it was reassuring to see them going around disinfecting surfaces in view of the current coronavirus epidemic. No fault of the Kyoto hostel, but booking on the K's house website is unnecessarily complicated. I found it preferable to pay more for the ease of booking.com than wrestle with K's House booking process to take advantage of their 'secret deals' (loyalty discounts).

This time I stayed in a tatami room on the 2nd floor, facing the window with plenty of sunlight. The room is equipped with air-conditioning, electric fan, small table and cushions, mosquito-proof feather night light, and 3 charging sockets. There are 2 bathrooms (shower) and toilets on the 1st floor. 2 bathrooms, 2 sinks, hair dryers, cotton swabs, etc., 2 public bathhouses near the old house (elderly soup 430 yen, remember to bring your own bath towels), bicycle rental 500 yen for 24 hours Pros: The owner is very friendly English Not bad, the tatami mats of the century-old house have a faint rice scent, bath towels are provided, luggage can be stored for free, the environment is beautiful and quiet Disadvantages: The location is located in a residential area, so there is a bus stop (Marutamachi Chiko Huiin) about 20 minutes away from the subway minute

This guesthouse is located near Kiyomizudera. You can literally walk there. It takes only 10 minutes walk to the train station which is very convenient. There's no elevator. You may have a hard time if you have big luggage with you (first hand experience). The bed is very comfortable. Before I even checked in, someone spilled sauces over one of the refrigerators and it stayed like that all of my stays, but other than that, this guesthouse is very clean. Also, the staff is kind and caring. When they know I'm Thai, they spoke my language! I was impressed. Overall, this is a great place to stay with affordable price.

The location is very convenient, just near Shijo Station on the Karasuma Line, and it is very convenient to go to any tourist attraction. However, there are few restrooms on the same floor, and the toilet is very small. The air freshener in the room is too strong and it feels suffocating. However, the room has slippers, hangers, lockers, and a refrigerator, which is pretty good. There are bookstores, supermarkets, restaurants, and subway stations around, so it is very convenient in every way.

Thank you. Trip.com said check-in was until midnight, so I checked in by midnight, and the hostel's description said check-in was until 9pm. Next time I stay, I'll make sure to include the time in my message to the hostel. It was fun drinking beer with the foreign guests. The shower, bathroom, and bed were all comfortable. A convenience store and JR station are also nearby. The photo shows castella cake I bought at a bakery near the hostel.

GGuest UserAlthough it’s a bit far to the Kyoto train station, if you know how to take the bus, there are 3 bus stops + 1 Shijouoomiya train station which are really closed to this hotel (only 6 to 10 mins walk), which can lead you to anywhere of the tourist spots !! 👍🏻 hotel located in a quiet street which gives you a well sleep at night. 😴The hostel of this hotel are helpful, they helped us to return our kimono via the local post since we are rush in time to travel around. 📤 They replied the email daily and fast, at the first day we couldn’t find their reception to check in (Just found out it’s a self check system that they had already sent you a password to your email earlier). 📧 They helped us to take care of our luggage after we check out our room, as we were going to nearby spots after the living. All the facilities and equipment are clean, you can tell they had mopped the floor, clean anywhere of the kitchen, restroom and sleeping room all the way around and leaving with no dust. 🪣👍🏻 my conclusion is, I will definitely come back to book their hotels, their signature brand “Risshisha”, next time when I come back to travel again. Once again, thank you for your 5 stars services !! 🙏🏻🙏🏻

GGuest UserThe concept of this hostel is great - something better and more inclusive than a capsule hotel with large, comfortable beds. Pros: The common area and kitchen were really nice, and the free beer hour provided a great way to connect with other travelers. The common area has huge windows looking onto downtown Kyoto. The staff were all super friendly and helpful and spoke English. You are given a keycard for access to the bed floors and after hours. You need to reserve breakfast the day before, but it's right next to St Marcs Cafe which I thought was a great option, so IMO you don't need to use the hostel's breakfast. The showers were good, and I never saw them full despite a lot of people staying here at this time. The laundry machine seemed easy to use as well. The location in downtown Kyoto is obviously great and close to bus stops to reach popular temples on the east side. Cons: The only problem I faced was that the iPod to control my bed and lights rarely worked! The first night, I was unable to recline the bed into sleeping mode or turn off the lights, so staff had to come reset something on top of the pod to get it to connect. It stopped working again after that, and I could not turn the lights on in the morning. I also did not get to use the special wake-up features. Because my stay was only a few days and I wasn't spending leisure time in the pod, I decided to just deal with the unlit pod. Also, I was the only person who I spoke with who had this issue. But the hotel should improve the engineering of the iPod controllers or provide backup physical controls on the side. This wasn't an issue for me, but my medium-sized suitcase would not fit in the pull-out luggage rack under the bed. I had to keep the suitcase closed and on its side between the luggage rack and the screen. I don't think that travelers with large suitcases would be able to fit them in the pod, you'd probably have to find an empty corner in the hallway. Overall, I would recommend staying here, just hope you aren't the unlucky one who gets assigned to a broken pod.

GGuest UserFabulous location, close to the main station. Easy to find, and lots inclusions in a bargain price. Lovely outdoor terraces on the ground floor (smokers) and 3rd floor. Washing machines and dryers on site, with the bonus that you don't need to provide your own detergent, at a VERY reasonable price. Immaculately clean, friendly staff who aren't afraid to speak English, and the rooms are very well-appointed. I stayed in a 4 bed dorm, which was comfortable, spacious and there is even an option to choose your own pillow, so that you can be extra comfy.

JjojopengBeen here once in 2015 during my solo trip. After staying here , I feel that I must bring my family here someday. And I did! My family of 5, 2 A and 3C aged 13,10&9 stayed in the Japanese style room from 09-11 June. It's off peak timing so not many ppl are staying here. We get to enjoy the peace and quiet. What's good abt this hostel ? Cleanliness is at its best. The shared bathroom, toilets areas are in top notch cleanliness. You can't find in other youth hostel. The communal onsen area is well maintained and clean. Everyone who use the area has the responsibility to keep it clean and tidy. And am glad that everyone is doing it well. Everyday between 10am to 3pm, u cannot stay in your room as the staff has to clean your room. Common area: kitchen and living area is shared and very cosy place for us to hang around. U can rent games like Uno, jenga from the front desk for free to play with your family. There is also an outdoor balcony area where u can just sit there and enjoy the breeze. The whole compound is at a residential area. So it's serene , peaceful and quiet. A very zen place. I was originally afraid that my kids who are city kids would be bored here... But they actually loved it. Especially making their own cup noodles dinner at the kitchen. There is no TV at the room we stayed , so we went to the kitchen area to watch TV and snack. Like all other YHA, u will be given bedsheets and pillowcase to make your bed and have to return them back to the front desk upon check out. The nearest JR station is abt 5-7mins drive away. It's so nice to come back again.

VVivigaga📮 Location: 10 minutes walk to Kamogawa near Sanjo, about 5-6 to the mall. There are many local izakayas and bars nearby, but it is quiet. Very close to the Jin Market, downtown location 💰 price: The price/performance ratio is really high, compared to the warmth of home in a small hotel. The whole hostel owner and his wife are very clean. I really want to live here for a month. The TV in the room is still sony 👍 Service: The homeowner will speak a little Chinese, and it is very convenient for a Taiwanese lady to exchange work. Free tea bags, snacks, microwave ovens, refrigerators and ice cubes are provided in the living room. In short: I recommend solo to travel alone for girls to play, and I will ask friends to live here next time. Treasure Youth Hostel, there are more Japanese locals, and the environment is quiet. Great 👏

GGuest UserThis was such a nice hotel! Everything was perfectly clean, and I felt very comfortable during my stay. I think this is the nicest place I have stayed in recently. I was glad that everything was clean and well-organized. They tell you everything you need to know in a little folder in your room. They also answered my questions very quickly and kindly. The best parts for me were that the heating and water heater worked, the bed was comfortable, the bathroom was spotless, and they explained everything I was curious about in detail in the folder, on signs, or in email communications. One thing I didn't know until I got here is that there is a shared microwave, which is nice when you get food from the convenience store.

GGuest UserThe place has an excelente location, easy to get there. The room was cleaned and organized. However, there is no person at the front desk to ask questions or ask for help. The code for entering to the room was sent by SMS, but since we were traveling the service for SMS of our phone company does not work outside our country, so we did not receive the message since we were traveling. They do not have an e-mail address, so the check in instructions could not be send there. When we arrived to the place was late and we found the front desk empty even though we still arrived in the front desk service hours. We had a hard time contacting the hotel but luckily could get some help in calling the administration to get our room number and the code.

MmamimummmThere were Doma, steep stairs and edges in Machiya for more than 100 years and enjoyed the atmosphere of Machiya. I stayed in the coal bamboo on the first floor. It was a room with a toilet washbasin. The best feature of this room is that there is a door that can go out without passing through the front desk. (2 photos) It was like an entrance and exit for an old clerk in Kyoto, and I was tense. The first floor can hear the sound of people walking or the voice of people talking at the front desk. So I think it's a little hard for those who care about the sound. There was an earplug for such a person. When I stayed, it seemed that I was walking carefully on the second floor, and I was not surprised by the sound. I was really happy to feel like living with someone and living in this town shop. The staff politely explained the attention and facilities in the facility. The delicious bakery also taught me. There was only a shower, so the staff introduced me to the nearby public bath. The shampoo set for going to public bath was at the front desk. It is in a quiet shopping street, so you can't get wet a lot in the rain. If you walk a little, there is a station and you can walk to Sanjo, so the location is good. It was a nice hotel that can taste the atmosphere of Machiya! I want to stay again.

WWa_ku_i87<Good points> ・Near the bus stop. There are also two convenience stores nearby.・You can stay in an old folk house. My parents' house is almost the same age as this house, so I was immersed in a nostalgic feeling.・Tourist information is posted in various places, so it's fun to take a look. I participated in the morning service of Nishi Honganji because it was recommended.・You can stay without meeting the staff. I stayed overnight without seeing anyone.・There was a kotatsu in the private room. It helped that my legs were cold.・There was a sanitary box in the dressing room. <Things to be improved> ・I was surprised when I received a phone call from my cell phone number. I'm very cautious, so I try not to answer suspicious phone numbers, so I'm surprised when I get a sudden call... Also, the staff who called me spoke too fast. I asked him to speak slowly, but it didn't work. I could barely hear ”Haruya”. I don't really know what you're talking about, so please calm down and speak slowly. I can't tell you anything.・When I heard that they were making rice porridge in the morning and went to see it, it was empty. I probably didn't do it because the pot was dry. It may not be done in this day and age, but if not, I would like an explanation.・There was a water tank, but it was empty. I wanted to drink water to take medicine. I can't judge whether it's not done in this day and age or I forgot to water. There were white streaks on the tank. Did you wash it?・Rent out the bath, fill it with hot water, and when you soak in the bath, you will be surprised to see the toothpaste float to the surface! You didn't clean it after the last time you used it. Please clean it... the charter fee was wasted...・The dressing room is very cold. It's an old private house, so the cold came directly. I want a simple heater. It was interesting and fun to make the room, but I felt that there were many problems in the details.
