I have stayed in a shared female dorm for two nights for my Machu Picchu trip. The room was clean and the bed comfy. It was a little loud due to the train passing by the windows in the mornings, but I actually didn’t mind. The train is the main thing that you hear in the whole village anyway. A simple but delicious breakfast was included. Some people who left early in the morning were able to get their breakfast packed with them. The owners (or people working there) were friendly locals happy to give advice. Upstairs, there was an open terrace with snooker table and board games.

I am a world traveler. I stay at Airbnb’s all the time and wonder what the heck are these people thinking with the nightstand 4 feet from the bed and the nearest outlet across the room. Not this place. It is set up perfectly for the traveler. it is set up to be exactly what a traveler loves! Lots of space, all the necessities but no clutter. All the practical amenities, including simple things like hangers, a towel rack, light switches that are in reach, a spacious bathroom, lots of windows, a little balcony and all the amenities of a fancy hotel like a restaurant and bar downstairs. Super friendly people! Super super friendly people. Real people. People who you can talk to. I rarely give five stars, but this place is clean, a great location, a great value! Nothing pretentious with a touch of fun. A terrific value to boot!

Casa Andina is well located near shopping, restaurants, bars, and train station . It features a nice breakfast buffet that should please North Americans and Europeans. The rooms are well-sized and efficient, and the rain shower is great. The staff are very helpful. They will store luggage and answer all your questions. There is no air conditioner, so the rooms can get a little stuffy if the night is warm. The ceiling and an open window help, but the window shade, said to be necessary if mosquitoes are about, limits cooling. Our third-floor room faced the train tracks, so we heard the night trains. They didn’t bother us greatly, but light sleepers might have trouble. Rooms in back, on the river are quieter, but a friend told us that mosquitoes can be a problem. Speaking of mosquitoes, we encountered no-see-ums at Machu Picchu. Our Picaridin repellent, generously applied to all exposed skin, kept us bite free. Long pants and ling sleeves are advised, lightweight and airy if possible.

My family and I truly enjoyed our stay at Hotel Retama. The staff were very helpful and friendly, the breakfast was amazing and they did everything to make our stay wonderful including arranging for a tour guide who was fantastic. The location and accomodations were great--it is at the top of a hill away from the crowds. We loved it and will be back!

Hotel Luz Garden was great! The staff treated us like family and were very nice! They came by each night to see what time we wanted breakfast and even let us stay in our room a little later so we didn't have to set around town waiting for or train. I will definitely stay here again.

While the staff were pleasant and nice, the rooms themselves were filthy and not functional. The shower hot water did not work in my room nor my friends room which we would overlook if the rooms themselves were livable. Our room specifically was covered in bugs - on the ceilings, crawling on the floors, and all over our beds. When we asked if we could be moved to a different room (that was clean), we were not granted that request and instead a man with bug spray came to kill the bugs. So instead we had dead bugs that fell all over our items (which he did stay to clean without us asking, so we appreciate that), and afterwards you weren’t able to breathe in the room because of the chemicals. I understand that given the location of where we are (directly near Machu Picchu) that hotels will not be 5 star luxury stays like what we would find in the states, but I do feel like if these are the conditions the hotels are in there should at least be nets, screens on windows/doors, etc in order to attempt to try and prevent these types of things.

We were very welcome and welcomed. The hotel is about 5 min walking from the train station. Easy access. The girl at the reception has served us with great sympathy and attention! He was early up for us to prepare a coffee.. simple but tasty! The room is simple.. But it's the necessary for the stay. Heat water shower and super comfortable bed. Quiet for a good night sleep. Far from the street muvuca. It was very kind of her to keep our bags while we went up to Machu Pichu. I recommend!

Excellent
GGuest UserThe hotel is near the train station. Turn right and then turn right for five minutes. It is 20 minutes by car from Machu Picchu Scenic Area. The hotel service is great. It is a pleasant surprise hotel. It is located at 2020 meters above sea level and between the highlands and the rainforest. It has a private botanical garden of 50 hectares. Among them, the most famous is the orchid garden, with as many as 372 varieties. The hotel has arranged various activities at all times, and has a plant expert who took me to watch various orchids and how to make tea with plants. At the same time, I was fortunate to see the Peruvian national bird moving crown umbrella bird. The only regret is that the check-out time is 10 am.
The Andino was a welcome respite after a long day of hiking the Inca Trail and exploring Machu Picchu. I was traveling with my son and found the rooms comfortable, but as others have mentioned, they are on the small side. We had a double and if there'd been a 3rd person, we would have been pretty cramped. The shower is nice, but the water didn't get very hot for us. The outstanding things about the Andino are the staff and the location. The staff were amazing. Helpful, gracious, and very friendly. They helped us with a number of restaurant locations, helped us find our way to the train station and other spots of note in Aguas Calientes. The Andino is also centrally located to the train station and the bus stops for those traveling to MP and out of AC. I would recommend the Andino to those looking for an ease of location and don't need a luxury hotel for the night.
IIkkyuSojunCtrip showed 12 o'clock to stay, and at 1:30 pm, the hotel was told that the house was not ready and needed 3 o'clock. We went out with our luggage and went back at 4 o'clock. The house was not ready yet, and I immediately changed it, but from the fifth floor, there was a balcony with six floors and no balcony. It doesn't matter, the quilt in the key room is still tidal, and the hotel is painting and the room smells in the past few days. Also found the front desk brother finally gave a free upgrade to the suite to solve. Breakfast starts at 5 o'clock, more common, bread milk juice fruit. The hotel should be the highest position in the town, but not too far away, the town is not big, the window is facing a mountain, it is mountain view
PP250Think of the furthest from train station, bus to machu picchu and restaurants, there is this hotel. However the service is really nice and the room is real clean. They cook me this breakfast. i love it apart from the location.
GGuest UserNice place, excellent price. Everything in walking distance. Train is under the window it can get loud but you probably will be to tired from hikes and won’t notice it as much ! Would stay again. Thank you hotel for helping with luggage storage and being super friendly!
Ddestination-ungewissWe booked this hotel for 1 night. we came with our two dogs which in advance they told us they would charge 20$ each. they are very well behaved, clean and quiet chihuahuas. we agreed and it was ok, even though we still find this very expensive. the staff was very nice and let us leave our bags and dogs in a spare room while we went to machu pichu. We had two very big issues during our stay. First they did not inform us in advance that the whole hotel is under construction and the pool and jacuzzi are used for concrete mixing. They were the whole reason we chose this hotel, we are very unhappy with that. they didn't offer us any refund and only let us know about this situation AFTER we paid for the room. At one point a bucket of concrete even poured from the roof right onto us, standing in front of the hotel. they didn't offer any help, we had to ask for a cloth to wipe the concrete from our clothes. even though they apologized we were very annoyed for our clothes are now ruined. The other issue is that due to a power out we couldn't have our included dinner. they did not offer any solution except to wait a half hour because electricity might return. it didn't (all night long) which of course is not their fault but still we think they should have offered a solution. we had to ask about it at the end of our stay and got a refund of 10$ each. even though the room is nice, the staff is friendly and the location good we had a really bad experience with this hotel and i am very disappointed, since it was very expensive. other things you should know: you have to pay for drinks extra during lunch and dinner (even if you booked a full meal plan). check out is at 10 (no late check out possible) although they can store your things.
