Our second visit to the RHP, however first was approx 9 years ago with one child. This time with a family of 7. As we went peak season the hotel was at near capacity. Rooms - we had a 5th floor sea view family room, this consisted of a corridor with a twin room with en suite shower and toilet on your right, at the end of the corridor was a large king sized double room with a bathroom, ample storage and patio doors leading to a balcony overlooking the pools. The mini bar was filled daily and if you were in when they appeared they were happy to provide whatever you wanted i.e. extra beers or more Pepsi. The rooms are really nice, they have not changed but do not need to as they are very spacious with everything you need. My parents were in a double 2 doors along, to get 5 in a room they had one of my kids in with them on the booking however on arrival we asked for a cot which was delivered in minutes to allow us all to stay together. Food - we never struggled to find something we enjoyed, we tended to eat around the pool for lunch, grabbing a kebab or baked potato or heading the the beach restaurant which has a limited menu however that enabled the service to be really quick and everything on their is tasty with an excellent salad bar. On an evening we ate early and as we were a party of 7 with kids we were happy to head to the main buffet for opening and grab a table near the food. After our first couple of nights we were greeted with a table which already had our drinks poured and ready and the wine stationed at the bottom without us asking meaning we didn't have to get our food and hunt around and the kids would know where we would be this was great service. We ate at the Teppanyaki, which was fantastic, I think it was $30 per person however well worth it, Abdullah was brilliant really engaged the kids letting our 10 year old help him cook, it was a great experience and meal. Drinks - The beer and wine are drinkable, however the lack of international spirits was a bit of a let down, especially round the pool where the gin and tonic out of plastic glasses was almost undrinkable. I enquired about upgrading our drinks package however this was not possible. We did however enjoy the drinks at the lobby bars which were served with crisps and nuts. The waitresses always provided great service. We especially enjoyed the cocktails at the sunken bar which has a great ambience. The music is very repetitive if you spend any time there and completely bizarre going from different languages / genres. Pools - Due to the time difference of 2 hours I was awake early, I usually headed down the pool at around 8 am to get our favourite spot and 6 loungers together. If your not picky any time around 9 you should be fine however all loungers by the pool seemed to be taken by 10. Waitresses will appear offering drinks or you're never far from one of the 4 bars serving the pool and beach area. The Pool is huge and the slides are really good with
