We've stayed here 3 times before on HB basis and never had any complaints. This year we stayed 9 nights B&B, partly due to cost, partly because my mum, at almost 80, just doesn't eat much at mealtimes especially when it's hot so we decided to try B&B. We flew with EasyJet and had private transfers, arriving late afternoon. Check in was smooth & as we'd requested the same room as previous stays (5th floor, block 2) for the great views of the sea & castle, we knew what to expect. The room is a twin, with a step in shower, tv, hairdryer in the bathroom and a fridge *which is extra (as is the safety box). Air con is complementary. Clean bedding & towels every few days. There's a small front facing balcony with a couple of chairs and a low table, and a drying rack for swimwear etc. Some people have said these front rooms can be noisy due to the road outside, it depends what you're used to. If you're a light sleeper, take ear plugs. On the 2 nights when there's hotel entertainment, the music is done for midnight. Breakfast times changed mid way through our stay but were always pretty busy. It's mostly Turkish/continental food - lots of fresh salad, cheese, cold meats, fruit, jam, honey, chocolate spread. As well as yoghurt & cereals. This year o noticed there was a "porridge" type option (like muesli in warm milk) which I tried with fruit and really enjoyed. There's a choice of hot options, different every day - potatoes, eggs, beans, tomatoes, Turkish sausage etc. And outside by the pool you can get pancakes , fried eggs and omelette. There's a toaster & toastie maker. Plenty of choice of teas/coffee machine and cold juices (these are included at breakfast but not at other meals). I had no problem finding something to set me up for the day. I can't comment on evening meals as we didn't eat in the hotel. The pool is the only let down I think. It's quite small, so not ideal if you have kids - no slides. Not many loungers around the pool either. Across the road is the beach, you can pay for sunbed/parasol hire at reception. Food is available freshly cooked. There are little inlets between flat rocks (which can be very slippery) into the sea, and beach shoes come in handy as its quite pebbly at the shore. I tied the Turkish bath/spa and can highly recommend - around £24 for a sauna, salt scrub, bubble scrub, face mask & oil massage, bliss!! Overall we noticed prices have increased, eating out we were paying on average around £20 pp for main meal & drinks. It's worth remembering that inflation in Turkey is really high at the moment, they're not trying to rip you off, they're trying to make a living. Prices are almost on a par with UK now. There's plenty of choice around the hotel for places to eat, coffee shops etc (new one opened just next door). Highly recommended Costa Flamingo 2 mins to the right & over the road - live music, great food & excellent service. I travelled with my mum & we never felt unsafe, the staff at the hot

10yrs my wife and I have been using this hotel. Usually we do 3 weeks but this time we did 4 weeks. Excellent sea view and nice room considering this is only a 3 star hotel excellent value with room cleaned, towels changed every day and bedding changed every week or more leaving lovely displays with the bedspreads by Isha our cleaner. Staff are so friendly and helpful in the hotel. Love the outside bar and entertainment twice a week. Esef running the bar always goes the extra mile to help in anyway to make a relaxed and pleasant stay . Bar staff always friendly and helpful always greeted with a big smile Food this year to me was even better always with a good choice again with lovely staff. Hotel is in a good location with many shops and bars close by and a 15 minute walk to the harbour and it's own beach across the road. Brilliant Holiday thank you all and keep up the good work. Hopefully see you all next year.

I previously read about sickness from previous reviews about a sickness bug, but I thought it may have only been a temporary thing. I did get a bad case of D&V. Two days after, my mother did also. It may have been my own fault... I drank some water from a room tap, and it does say not for drinking. But I also met another couple at hotel who also got very ill. They had not drunk room water. I have been to Turkey many times before without issue. We were half board, so our food was at hotel. On the topic of food, vegetarians beware. A lot of the food is labelled. Seeing 'Vegetable Soup' seems like a suitable choice, right? It had pink fleshy cubes of meat throughout. I was caught out, along with another guest who was a vegan. Despite being half board, at the evening meal, there is no free drink option, like there is at breakfast. You have to buy coffee, juice or other drinks. A large bottle of water is 50TL, which is OK (although the corner shop besides hotel sell these for 20TL - but I doubt you would be allowed to bring them in). One particular waiter was extremely insulting. A lot of the hotel staff were not that pleasant. That said, the cleaners were lovely. One of them even made my mother an impromptu small bouquet of flowers after learning about her sickness bug. We had an 'accessible room'. It was nominally on the ground floor, but not really, as there is a service floor or something at the base, so there was still a fairly long ramp. I think that maybe rooms on higher floors in some blocks may be better for some, as there are lifts (but not to this accessible room). The bathroom was accessible, with grab rails, a high toilet and wall mounted perch stool for the shower. The room itself was not that accessible with lack of room for those using a rollator. The room was a bit dated, but I am ok with that. Would I return to this hotel? Short answer is no.

As a family of 6 (4 adults/2 older kids) on a self catering holiday this was a nightmare. A Jet 2 holiday that Looked amazing for what we could afford. From the second we arrived we complained that this was totally unacceptable.2 bedrooms.1 with a double bed,1 with two single beds. Other beds?2 Sofas in our sitting area with the most uncomfortable mattresses you could imagine! Our cooker was a 2 ring camping stove! Almost all our holiday money had to be given to the hotel to provide our breakfast and dinner as we couldn't afford to eat out all the time.. Not what we had planned or budgeted for! Jet 2 solution? We will give you a free meal on the airplane on your next holiday

I went bed and breakfast cause I do like to try different places to eat out on a night they have entertainment on a Tuesday and Friday night what are really good. Also try the turkish bath programme in the hotel it is really good and relaxing only 30euros I will be coming back to the hotel next yr and I can't wait. Yes their was a sickness bug going around and it is not due to the hotel alot of it is due to hygiene people still not washing hands after going to the toilet. Please don't let bad reviews put you off this hotel I have met alot of friends in this hotel and it is really clean the maid comes and cleans rooms everyday put clean towels and bedding for you..keep up the good work eftalia Downtown

Hotel nicely situated. Room was very clean had 2 single beds so you can share or use different bed. Bathroom was very clean excellent shower. The cleaners as in most Turkish hotels do a great job. Free air conditioning which is a bonus. You have a small balcony which has hanging rail. Breakfast was outstanding so much choice was amazed if you dont like the display think your likely mad. dinner was varied with range of hot dishes veggies catered for as were us meat eaters. Over the week had no repeat recipes. Proper tasty Turkish cuisine. Onlysmall mention would love it if wifi was extended to the rest of the hotel or ground floor. Still it was very comfortable to sit with coffee in reception. Staff helpful and friendly. I sadly slipped over and fractured my right hand reception sorted by getting me down to the local hospital they were fantastic . Safely home now. Really enjoyed the holiday

6th time coming finally got or perfect sea view room!!! Beautiful, clean, cleaner came everyday however my husband loves cleaning so she didn’t have to do it! Lovely lady and found it amusing when hubby was emptying bins! Met people last year we all came again this year, 4 of them 60, we had the best night on Turkish night, reserved a table and had cake brought, staff are brilliant can’t do enough for you bar staff work so hard and long hours big shout out to you all❤️❤️❤️ also the ‘bug’ that was supposed to be going around was a load of rubbish, I witnessed so many people (women) not washing their hands after the toilet, it’s disgusting and shame on you 😢 that’s why people were ill, lack of hygiene, we have never had problems before and the food was beautiful and plentiful, you can’t eat 10-15 dishes at once!! Massive thanks to you all, the Welsh group, the Brighton duo, the Radcliffe duo, Shropshire duo oh and Geordie gill 😂❤️ amazing holiday with amazing people, same time next year ❤️❤️❤️already booked lol

As per the title, the stay here was eventful & not in a good way, I’ll start with the positives - The location is great, you are opposite the beach & on the main drag for shops, bars, restaurants etc - If you get a sea facing room like we did, it’s a lovely view & the balcony’s are a good size - Water pressure for the shower is very good & the water gets hot quickly - the female onsite dr is lovely & really helpful Now for the negative points - We got the dreaded sickness bug, don’t know where we got it from but a lot of people staying here had it! -The ceiling in our room nearly collapsed, we had to ask to move as we didn’t feel safe ( they did move us rooms) but this could of been dangerous - Reception staff are unfriendly & you feel like a nuisance towards them -Our room stank of sewage & it was the same in the downstairs reception -You have to pay for a fridge -The breakfast didn’t have a great selection I personally wouldn’t stay here again
