Popular Albufeira 4-star Hotels

The problem with this hotel is the management. The hotel is very big and the route sign is not clear. I was lucky to find the room after walking for 30 minutes. And the breakfast information is wrong, the parking information is wrong. These problems should be improved through management, and good results should be obtained.

The hotel is big and has several attractions, from indoor and outdoor pools and animation, gym, playground, all very good. Positive points - impeccable cleanliness, friendliness of staff, hot water, small appliances that were old but worked perfectly, cable TV with several channels. Negative points- the furniture is old, the mattresses are uncomfortable, at the reception I was attended by an inexperienced person and was being charged twice the value of the extra bed, very weak internet, we never managed to get a signal during our stay. A lot to improve for a good comfort of the guests.

We are glad that we booked this hotel. The beach view was breathtaking and remarkable. Not to mention its excellent location where the old town cobbled street is just right in front of the hotel. We particularly enjoyed the breakfast where they offered great selections and indeed one of the best breakfasts we've tried in our Portugal trip. Hotel staff were mostly friendly, especially those in the restaurant, except for the housekeeping staff who refused to give us extra drinking water on the next morning even before we checked out.

The hotel is good value for money with multiple food options. The food is good. The pool area is clean as is the rest of the hotel. In a good location to access the new town ***** as well as other places to eat. The old town is a 10 miniature drive away and taxis are reasonable. The staff are friendly and helpful.

had a nice break here , very good location and nice sea view on fourth floor, clean and nice staff, close to old town , pool lovely, the hotel was a little too quiet for my 12 year old son however as no day entertainment at all , no restaurant at evening either but we like eating out anyway, breakfast was good and staff are all helpful.

I think there should be thorough cleaning at each guest change. The towels and sheets have many dirty stains. There is little cleaning in the corners of the houses, we always find cobwebs, dead spiders and other animals. In 7 days, we were told that there would be a change of towels every other day and that did not happen. They only changed towels once, and we had to go to reception to ask for new ones. We didn't have a carpet at the entrance to our house, which meant we brought dirt from the street inside. The staff are very helpful and attentive, the pools are wonderful and the location near supermarkets is very good.

We have been coming to this hotel fairly regularly for the last 20 years or so and have always loved it. This year we came for a week at the end of April and sadly it may be our last visit here. We felt the hotel was under siege. This time we felt that the usual high standards had been relaxed to allow a rabble of cocktail shaker juggling team members from a company / association called Flair take over the hotel for the week. They were all single young men and women who spent virtually all day in a sectioned off area near the pool learning and honing the skills of cocktail shaker juggling. This wasn't too bad in the daytime but the worst of it was in the mornings and evenings in the restaurant. Every night the whole dining experience was turned into a school cafeteria. The noise was intolerable. There were people picking up food and eating it while walking around the restaurant to see their mates, people on tables shouting conversations across to another table where inbetween the two there were respectable couples trying to enjoy their eveing meals. Hygiene was out of the window with high fives everytime they came across each other at the salad bar. Dress code was ignored and totally unenforced. I even saw one guy regularly in evening meal wearing flip-flops, beach shorts and sleeveless vest. It was disgusting. The behaviour was the same at breakfast. What happened to the restaurant staff in their waiter uniforms? I thought the restaurant manager was another holidaymaker - a young guy wearing faded jeans, casual shirt and trainers. One night we were kept awake by two of them partying on the balcony of the room above our's. At 2.30am I went to reception to complain and was told there should only be one person in that room. I told him that this is what happens when you allow groups of singles. To give him his due he did go to tell them and the noise did quieten. Perhaps this review only applies for the week we were there as we have had wonderful stays here over the years but I do feel standards have slipped and it seems a lot of the ”old school” staff have gone. If you do book this hotel just check that Flair aren't coming the same week. I suspect that they may come again around end of April - early May.

This place has polarizing reviews.. After going there, I understand why. The facilities and services are good. You can use the swimming pool, washer and dryer (performance is poor), sauna and spa for free, and although the building structure is unique (1st and 8th floor reception, 2 elevator transfers, etc.), it's okay if you get used to it. We couldn't find the way by taxi, so we climbed the hill with our suitcases, but the reception on the first floor is near the spar mart. They were friendly, but the air conditioner was broken so I called twice and they didn't come so I just gave up. This place is in the middle of the old town, so I actually made a reservation based on the location, but it's literally in the middle of the club street, so even if you're inside the accommodation, you'll be staying at the concert hall all night long. There's no soundproofing, so you have to enjoy it together until 5 a.m. The noise is another level, as foreign reviews say. I’m traveling around the world, but this place is really ambiguous haha. The breakfast isn’t bad, but it’s just ambiguous… . Personally, I think it would be less noisy and better if it wasn't just in this alley because it's Albupay!!

This was a nice clean hotel with friendly staff. We arrived early and were able to leave our bags in a secure area before it was time to check in The beach is a short walk away down the hill, scouting it out we found it was made up of a few coves some busier than others so worth having a look around. There is a mini mart on site at the hotel with the essentials, although it would have been nice to have some tea/coffee/water provided as part of the room rate to go with the kettle that's there Room was clean and comfortable with a nice bathroom, the room we were in was much bigger than it looked on the photos so they can vary a lot I think. Some reviews mention the shower was cold, it took some adjustment to get it right but it was anything but cold on the hot side A safe is available for a €10 deposit which we got back at the end when returning the key Pool was quiet and clean Breakfast is a selection of fruit, cereals and pastries, hot drinks and juices. There is the option to have some cooked items ordered fresh which you queue up for so this can take a while We ate once in the hotel restaurant on the first night, we both enjoyed our meals and thought it was both nice food and good value for what you got, contrary to some other reviews. The only real negative was the fridge in the hotel room, it was very loud and turned on and off throughout the night which woke us up at times. We didn't complain about it so can't complain too much now as perhaps they would have fixed it if we had. In summary, a nice quiet hotel with good furnishings and facilities. It's a bit out of town but that's what we wanted, there's still options around to eat (good Italian just 10 minutes walk away). And taxis into the busy areas are only about €5 on Bolt and Uber easily available

Hotel is lovely when you walk in the door but the rest of the hotel is dated. In need of a total revamp. Room is clean, and well equipped with a fridge, microwave, kettle and a dishwasher and all utensils but no condiments. A lot of noise from crowds of men banging on doors late at night and loud voices. There is a total of 5 plugs in the room, only one that worked and this was the one for the kettle the rest was hidden by furniture and likely the reason they are hidden they don’t work, so was a nightmare if you needed electric for any more than 1 plug. With a teenager it was torture. We were half board but food wasn’t great, selection was poor of 4 hot choices. Meatballs, chicken legs, pasta with sauce separate and a cod pie. Tried the restaurant twice and was the same options both times. So don’t waste your money on half board. Lots of lovely restaurants nearby. Highly recommend Clay oven which is Indian before you get to the ***** and Golden garden Chinese at the bottom of the *****. Both meals were fantastic. Pool has lots of sun loungers but pool was freezing, there is a shed with a vending machine as the bar. We tried the indoor pool which was pleasant as it is slightly warmer, but you are made to wear a shower cap that they supply costing 4 euros, don’t understand why as it isn’t waterproof and the hat supplied is far from flattering. ***** is 5 mins away and old town is a 25 min walk both pleasant walks. We made the best of our holiday and used the hotel as a base, I’ve been to Albuferia 6 times now and will come back but to a different hotel
