We just returned from 2 weeks at Siesta 1 and we enjoyed our stay, albeit a few things could do with looking at. The good: Location, the layout means that the pool gets the sun from 0900 until about 1830 at the far end, there is little wind and we didn't hear the motorway or the street. You're at the top of a ***** so everything is in one direction. The beach is 15/20 mins walk away. You can get a 1hr bus from the airport with ease. The local tour folks collect you from about 5 mins away, very conveniently. The staff, who were doing their best during a very busy period. They were mostly friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Sometimes a couple of the bar staff huffed and puffed a bit, but so would I with a full bar and 37c outside. The rooms were acceptable if a little tired, we had a family of 4 in a studio. Nobody complained for comfort. Not all rooms were equal though, others of our party stayed in another room which was better. A shelf in the bathroom for toiletries would have been nice for example. The bar, fine for a hotel bar. Prices are what you'd pay at home, always quick with the service. (The football was shown on a Firestick, though, and we missed the opening day.) The food was fine for lunch and snacking. The check in and out was smooth, the reception in general actually was always a good experience. The pool, our kids loved it. It was a good size though maybe an extra clean could have been done. There was a downpour and afterwards there was a fair bit of debris in there. The bad, most of which are minor things really: You will need mosquito spray. The hotel has the devices up to attract/kill them and they go off constantly, but you need to take this into account. Fortunately for us, these little mosquito's didn't produce the same allergic reaction as the ones back home would. The air-con unit wasn't up to the task on the hot nights, granted we had a week of 34c at night. The TV only got ITV and ITV2, we weren't there for TV watching but still. The balcony wasn't large enough for a table of 4 and game of cards, you had to be in the room. The building was in a below average state of repair, some rust, leaking ceilings, peeling paint and stickers. The thing that stick out to us was, as is mentioned in many other reviews is the entertainment. I'm no fan of bingo anyway but if you're having to ask the clients if they are still awake every 5 minutes you should know you should review your delivery. The reptile show was 5 minutes waving of a snake in front of a curtain and 15 minutes of charging money for photos with it, it was a bit sad. The daytime entertainment for the kids is what killed any façade of effort or interest in the kids themselves, when they want to charge for colouring, you know your a mark. The evening disco was so low effort it made me feel bad for the kids. Would it have been too much to ask for the entertainers to round up the kids to play a game of football in the court a couple of times a week? And finally,
