Hotel Albahía

Wonderful place to live. Could be good to have coffee / fridge facilities.

This hotel is three floors of a residential building . The rest is flats . It’s very strange and the pool is done walk away not actually at the hotel . The rooms are very basic and not soundproof. The noise from residents and outside cars and motorbikes is loud . Three mornings woken by revving motorbike in garage below room . It was running at 6am for ten mins a day odly . There were ants in the room and a dripping water noise all night long . My daughter and I are lacto free as cows milk makes us very ill with tummy issues They only have a set menu for half board and unless you want salad and a piece of pineapple or apple every day there is only an option to use the paid for menu . Very discriminatory. One day the chef was telling others who were milk free a mushroom soup made with butter and cream would be ok . Another night a chef bought out an ice cream and said it was ok . When the first look it had 2 types of cows milk in . The beach is lovely but side from one receptionist and one lady from the kitchen no one else helped . In fact three were so rude they were making fun of us at the bar . We heard it all and understood with our bit of Spanish . We will not return and our advice is book with caution.

The interior of the property is beautiful and the cleaner came to clean the room every day. The communal areas were also very clean and breakfast options were generous.The pool was well maintained. All the staff we encountered were super friendly. But the staff at breakfast need to be more proactive at clearing the tables or you need to provide an area to move dirty crockery to so clients can clear their own - and this is why I marked cleanliness and staff down a star because tables weren't being wiped between clients. The chairs in the bar area need cushions and the sofas need tables on which to place drinks. If you want dinner in the hotel make sure to book otherwise you will have a long wait. A map showing the location of tram/bus stops would have been more useful than a sentence in the welcome pack saying they were nearby. Over all we would come back if we revisit Alicante.

I chose to stay at Albahia because the price was not very high. There was excellent service from the first moment, and I am very satisfied with my stay. Since there was no refrigerator in my room, I asked if it was possible to get one. They provided it. The hotel is close to the tram and the beach, making it very easy to navigate the area. The only slightly annoying thing was that there were ants in the room, but that might be hard to avoid in warm countries? Anyway, I am very satisfied with my stay here.
