My experience was 5 star. The water pressure was great, the HVAC system was quiet, I never heard it cycle off and on, the bathroom light was perfect for makeup, the mattress was comfortable and so where the pillows and last but should be first, upon my check-in, I was greeted and treated very well by front desk staff Kiana and Steven. I saw Steven the next day and he was consistent in that he was helpful and gracious.

The hotel is relatively old, but that seems to be one of its features. Parking is inconvenient and facilities are limited. I paid online through Ctrip when booking the room and put a credit card as a deposit when checking in. After returning home, I found that my credit card was charged for the room. After reporting it to the hotel, they replied that the money would be refunded, but I have not seen it yet; so I need to ask the credit card bank to intervene. The management seems to be inadequate.

Unclean, poorly staffed property. Sign at desk indicates housekeeping is done 1x every 3 days “for the safety of the staff”. Cars drag raced outside all night, people wandering outside and yelling at 4am. In-room thermostat is controlled by the front desk. Overall very dirty(dirty floors, hair in bathroom, stains on furniture) and poorly renovated hotel.

Had an amazing stay! Beyond friendly atmosphere. Very beautiful entrance, comfort was a PLUS. Will definitely be coming back.

If you love a good ol hotel, this is a must stay. Every time I travel to Allentown I stay at the Americus Hotel. The staff is amazing and the bartenders are top notch. If your lucky enough, you may meet some of the permanent guests; or at least experinece their presence.
