This is an old country hotel. The nameplate says it opened in the 17th century. The facilities inside are well maintained. The exterior is relatively simple, and you need to carry your own luggage up the stairs, and the winding road is not easy to walk.

We booked for a long weekend and certainly chose the right hotel. The staff were friendly, helpful and couldn't do enough for us, the food was lovely, we had breakfast every day and it was spot on, we eat two evening meals including a Sunday lunch and again we could not fault the staff or the food. I have already been recommending this hotel to friends and family, rooms lovely and clean and full of character. The only very slight issue was our room was facing the road and over the bar, so it was a little noisy at times, but this didn't spoil what was a lovely stay.

All the staff were helpful , friendly and polite especially Jackie , Grace and Abbie . The food was excellent , the chef's are magicians . The room was excellent a little warm at night as it was over the kitchens

We stayed at this wonderful hotel for the weekend, the staff couldn’t do enough to help. Dinner and breakfast in the restaurant were fantastic quality. Very close to our function, but also near to Salisbury and Stonehenge for sure seeing. Our bedroom was roomy and very tasteful with everything facility needed. Very historic and very well maintained hotel, would definitely stay again and use there other hotels

We were warmly welcomed. Our rooms were comfortable and clean. All the staff were very helpful. The food was very good. I would definitely recommend this as a place to stay.
