We booked to stay in the house a few paces from the pub. On arrival the house was quite cold. It never really got to 22 degrees during our stay because even after setting the thermostat higher we suspect the heating had been low for a good while before we arrived and the house had become quite cold. The electric fire in the living room could not be used as the socket on the wall was taped up. We couldn't get hot water in the morning, probably because the boiler clock was set to the wrong time but we did manage to get a hot shower. The house decor is quite tired. The TV is old and didn't work properly. The sofas really need updating. The bathroom mirror was loosing its reflection at the top and the bathroom window didn't fit properly. The garden was quite messy in part of the property. The kitchen floor to the lounge had a bit missing at the step. We felt our stay was disappointing based on previous reviews. The staff however were very good apart from checkout when it seemed rushed as they were cleaning the pub and I felt the lady didn't really want to talk about our issues. The pub food was good and we enjoyed our evening meal and breakfast.
