Golden Tulip Aqaba

We arrived at this hotel which is very well located in Aqaba, in a tourist area where many shops and restaurants are close to the sea. This hotel was assigned by the tour operating company we traveled through. I had the freedom to make changes to the hotels they assigned me in case there were any that I didn't like. I went to trip advisor to look for this hotel reading the opinions and they were acceptable, I went to see the photos and it seemed simple but comfortable, so I accepted it. Upon arrival, great disappointment, this hotel is not even a three-star hotel. The photos have nothing to do with reality. The front desk is a desk with a chair, lobby if you can call it that dimly lit. I received my key, I entered the room between clean, very old corridors, a floor with small steps that were uncomfortable for transporting suitcases. When you open and enter the room it is clean but only that, old, simple furniture, a small window, bathrooms with fungus between the mosaics, uncomfortable beds. So I crossed the street and stayed at the Hilton, I had to pay for three nights but I don't regret it. The next day's traveling companions complained about the breakfast and the service. I suggest do not choose this hotel if you like certain amenities at least three stars

On paper it is a 4 star, but a two star pension on the Romagna Riviera offers a better service. For two consecutive days the room was not made up, even though I had complained to the reception on the morning of the second day (but nothing happened). On the third day the room was made but they moved us to another with the inconvenience of moving the suitcases and everything else. The safe doesn't work (clearly oxidized batteries visible inside the door), of the 7 switches 4 work and 3 don't, with the result that you can only turn off the main light in the room from the door and not from the bed. The refrigerator is one of those that cools down to around 12 degrees and not 4 and obviously there is no freezer compartment. The towel holder is bent by weight. The shower holder is so loose that it cannot be adjusted and the shower sprays onto the wall behind it under its own weight. The air conditioning, at least that works well. Arabic breakfast buffet with limited choice. Wi-Fi available everywhere except in the dining room (because it's in the basement). Stay away!

Hotel shamefully classified as 4*. Nothing justifies it. But it seems to be very popular with Jordanian customers. No air conditioning in common areas, except reception. The shower floods the entire bathroom. The establishment is dated. Breakfast is poor. The pool feels like a prison yard. In short, nothing good in this hotel. To avoid.
