I have stayed at some of the nicest hotels in the country and this was right near the top. My only critique is the homeless population overwhelmed the area. Maybe work with the city to clean that area up. Otherwise this hotel was the epitome of old world elegance in abundance.

Loved the hotel vibe. The room was great. Loved the pillows and the shower head. They were luxurious touches. The fitness room and roof are beautiful., And the restaurant has great food. Get the short rib Mac and cheese. Shout out to my server Yndira who was kind, helpful, attentive, and funny!

The service was very good and caring, knowing that the child had an exam the next morning, and a free breakfast was specially arranged. It was originally not included in the breakfast. Such carefulness is rare in foreign service.

Our stay at the Hyatt Regency on our wedding night was phenomenal! We were hoping for maybe some champagne or something special since it was our wedding night, but it was still a great experience overall. We had an amazing view and great service throughout the night there. Would definitely stay again!

In the words of Bette Davis, “What a Dump.” In its favor, we had a nice view of Lady Bird Lake from our window, which was pretty to wake up to, and the water pressure in the shower was great! The bathroom seemed partially updated and was pretty decent. Free parking, too. There were a few HBO channels on tv. However, the hotel is very dated and not very clean looking. The indoor parking garage was filthy and was dimly lit. Didn’t feel very safe in there, so we parked in the outside lot whenever possible. No greeting from the night time desk clerk when we came back from dinner, as she seemed to purposely be avoiding eye contact with us (she wasn’t on the phone or busy with someone else). The elevators were very smudgy and too dark, also. The beds slumped a bit in the middle, the linens were old and tired looking, and the chair in the corner looked worse than some I’ve put by the curb. An old leak on the ceiling was poorly patched up, and there were stains on the desk chair, carpet and walls. The door to the adjoining room didn’t provide enough sound proofing, as I heard our neighbor’s phone convo loud and clear. The pool area didn’t look very inviting, as there were no umbrellas or trees to block the strong sun. We wanted to stay in downtown Austin to be within walking distance to things, so this was the least expensive option. But not much could be walked to from there, and the area it was in was a bit sketchy, so we ended up taking Ubers, anyway. We had booked our last night at a hotel in the Arboretum area, because this one went up to a ridiculously high amount for Friday night (music festival in town), and it ended up being just as convenient to take an Uber from there (15-20 mins) to downtown. Plus, the hotel was much nicer and way less expensive. Live and learn.

This hotel has all the basics: spacious rooms, comfortable beds, very decent continental breakfast, and everything works. However, it is in desperate need of a face lift - new carpets, upholstery, etc. There is a strong smell of ”old”. We went first to a Target to buy air freshener which we used liberally in both rooms all three days we were there. If you can deal with that, this hotel provides good value.

First I’ll say that the older man at the front desk was wonderful. He was so helpful and kind and was able to get me very early check-in which ended up saving my goose for the day and enabled me to get some sleep when I really needed it. The lobby is beautiful but unfortunately the room itself was just not. The bathroom was very small and tight and just felt a little off. The thermostat in the bedroom was broken and because of that it was very muggy in the room for my whole stay. The room had a strong musty smell and the sheets felt off somehow. Very rough and stiff. The remote was under the bed when I arrived which made me suspicious so I just left it there. It definitely didn’t seem to have been cleaned between visitors. The carpet could definitely use a deep cleaning. Lots of marks and paint chips on the walls. No overhead light in the room but several lamps. I took a nap and then woke up to find a cluster of black hair in the sheets. I am a platinum blonde so this was disturbing to me. Then as I was heading out for the day, I noticed a small bug in my hair. I ended up going to a friend’s house in the city to take a hot shower because the bathroom was, as I said, very narrow and small. After the hair in the sheets, I ended up opting to just sleep at the friend’s house because I was so grossed out. It was amazing to be able to check in so early and have a safe place to nap, but for $245 for a night, it was definitely not what I’d hoped for, especially for a Hilton.

The check-in and out was smooth. Our stay is ok, the room is quite small but bed is comfy. The breakfast option was nice but the next day, we woke up a bit late, we joined buffet breakfast at 8:30AM but most of the food were gone and was not replaced. The location is good, near N. Lamar Ave and I-35 which is accesible to Downtown Austin.

From beginning to end it was not a great experience. The front desk lady who checked me in was not helpful or friendly unlike Elizabeth her coworker who was amazing with other guests as I saw her assist other guests. She didn’t provide any info. I had to ask. Did not recognized me or thanked me for gold member status. Did not provide parking info besides a QR code and told me to scan it at gate. We went to the room, dropped our things and left to our vehicle in the parking lot. I inserted the parking ticket… please pay $10!!!!!! What? $10 for 30 min !!! We went to grab dinner and we’re concerned of having to pay parking every time we went in and out. So we tried to do all we could before returning to the hotel. Since covid cases are going up we took our sandwiches and tried calling the hotel to ask about the parking situation but no answer until we were already out of area. Came back and there wasn’t really any places to sit down and eat a meal besides sofas and coffee tables. We were only staying one night. Checked in around 5, and a few hours later, literally i was already receiving a notification for checking out! The scant amount of staff we encountered on the floors were not friendly, we greeted them. Only one employee near the pool area actually was friendly and helpful. The bed was so uncomfortable, i was not able to sleep well until around 4 am. At approximately 840am I believe it was housekeeping knocking on my door and tried to open it. Woke me up. I couldn’t fall asleep anymore. I don’t understand why they would do that if check out was at 12. That has never happened to us on previous stays with another chain we usually stay. We almost never have any complaints from our stays. Went to eat breakfast at the restaurant there. That was not great either. We had a $15 credit per person for 2 towards breakfast. Juice $6, about 8oz. Plates, from $12-16. So, i ordered a plate with pancakes, eggs, potato and ham. The pancakes were like cardboard, they got stuck in the roof of my mouth. Juice wasn’t great, tasted like juice from carton. My son ordered an omelette with spinach and cheese, fruit cup and juice. Same issue with the carton juice, the omelette he says looked like someone dropped a bucket of spinach on it. The fruit wasn’t fresh. We are thankful for the manager that approached us and heard our issues with the food. He took care of that.

Outstanding
GGuest UserWe pulled in about 2:00 am. We were tired and pleased to find a place near the airport at a reasonable rate. Our plan was to relocate to a better/different place in the morning. It turned out that the staff and facility were so good, we extended our stay for a few more days. A huge THANK YOU to the staff at the Wyndham Airport location. A great value because of the great staff!
GGuest UserPerfect!! New and SPOTLESS room. Yes, a little small for American standards but more than enough for a short stay. Good breakfast, with healthy options (fruit, good yogurt, omelettes)… my husband would have liked more options but I had to remember him that it’s a 2-star hotel. It did not seem like that, but above 😊
Body soap, shampoo, condicioning and body cream. The only thing that I missed was a hairdryer… I have brought one just in case from some others 2-star hotels reviews. I didn’t ask but I am pretty sure that they would have provided one at your request. The room also had an iron & iron table. Very kind personnel. And… kids stay for free!! We are a family of three but even better deal for a family of four!!
Close to the highway, 15-20 min driving to Capitol and downtown… and perfect location to explore the sorroundings!!
GGuest UserConsistently lovely hotel with consistently good service. The juevos rancheros I ordered and had delivered to my room were incredibly good! And the coffee was nice and strong ….. glad I asked for extra cream and sugars ! Great location near the Arboretum stores and shops at the Domain . Also close to Whole Foods, H‑E‑B grocery store, Gateway movie theater, and lots of good restaurants, many within walking distance.. Large rooms, bathroom stocked with Aveda products. (shampoo, conditioner, body wash, bar soap for hands) was a very nice touch!
The only thing I didn’t like was they have recently started charging for self parking in their uncovered lot ….. I paid $20 on 1/31/24. I don’t like that at all. Just put the price in your room rate and say free parking!
EExpatCambria is a newer hotel amidst the redevelopment projects taking place near Rainey Street, a historic landmark of homes turned into entertainment venues. Cambria is opposite side of the spectrum with innovative decor and relaxation. Note that parking costs 49USD per day with valet access only. We chose not to rent a car based on our needs in Austin. Came to visit my son and his family with my eldest son, so we wanted to have some options near nightlife activities. Local drivers shared info on the changes made to the nearby historic street, and staff was friendly with all needs. The water statiins were a plus. Where I think Cambria can improve is in the price of the rooms, menu items and operation hours of their lobby bar/roof bar since staff was short during our stay. Walking to the entertainment street required the back alley short trek, and that aspect took away from the lush atmosphere of the hotel. Grafitti and Limestone hotel venues can easily adjust their marketung strategies towards in-house entertainment along with the Valet arrangement to flow more smoothly and affordably. It’s a lovely hotel which can become full circle staycation with a few adjustments regarding that aspect. New business developments working alongside grass roots businesses is key to smooth changes for both visitors and long-time locals. The pool atmosphere is great, the gym is clean, and the first floor waiting area an easy meeting spot.
GGuest UserI was extremely upset to see a movie with nudity and a scene of a nude man and a woman having sex (AKA porn) on the lobby / breakfast room television. I was even more upset when after asking the the manager, Diana, to change the channel she came into the area and I instead of just changing the channel to something more appropriate, asked the man seated behind me if it was okay for her to change the channel as if something like that was up for a vote among guests instead of hotel policy. To say I was angry at the way she mis-handled this would be an understatement . Despite the fact I stayed at this Hampton at least a half dozen times last year or so
, I won’t be returning. Keep porn off public televisions and teach managers how to deal with matters of corporate policy would be my suggestion Hampton/Hilton.
Otherwise the location is good and the rooms are clean. Too bad they allow unclean programming to be played on their television in the public area. Thankfully no children were in there at the time this occurred.
My company Amazing Art Expo did a Disney, Star Wars, Anime art event at the Holiday Inn Midtown the weekend of Feb 1-3rd and my staff and I stayed at the hotel for 4 nights. I want to first state, the rooms were incredibly clean, comfortable and the beds were very comfortable to a point where I slept better here than I do in my regular bed at home. The parking was plentiful and free and my staff and I felt safe with the surroundings that each night we walked to a restaurant without any worries. In first contacting the hotel about a month prior to the event, I spoke to Angie Mitschke who took the time to go over potential dates and respecting my budgetary needs, Angie worked extensively with me to accommodate our budget and reserve the ballrooms for us. I then proceeded to communicate with Mayra Lopez. Mayra was very adamant about making certain our room setup fit our expectations and her communication with me was outstanding. Despite our move-in date scheduled for Friday morning, Feb 1st, I requested at the last minute if we could unload the merchandise in our truck on Thursday afternoon in order to save time. Mayra and Angie both made this possible which gave us much more time to set up on Friday. This was a very nice add on and was greatly appreciated. The ballroom setup person (unfortunately I forgot his name) often checked in with us to see if we needed any service. Needless to say, the staff went above and beyond expectations. I highly recommend this hotel and I plan to do future business with them.
EEnglishTeacher朱丽叶Location was excellent! Close to many destinations from bars, clubs and restaurants, grocery stories (target, Whole Foods)
Down the street from Franklins BEST brisket in Austin 😝
Friendly check in , pool is perfect for summer weather! Gave cleanliness a 4 bc toilet didn’t not work first day and when send plumber to fix he has to go out and buy a part that needed replacement due to not being maintained. Took half a day to get fixed and couldn’t use restroom to 💩
After new part was installed , toiled flushed and at times got stuck so we had to turn of the water from bottom of toilet and turn back in for feces to flush 😩
Other than that, we were closed to many locations assessable on lime light scooter. Friend lobby held our bags last day for us to explore and we’re kind enough to deliver pre stamped postcards ♥️
