Lake Austin is a great retreat if you are looking for a luxury wellness resort in a nice setting that's quaint, peaceful and low-key with all amenities and activities of a larger resort like Miraval and Canyon Ranch. It's small enough that you can walk to the dining room, pool, classes within a few minutes, but spread out enough with such a great river view and much more activities than a Mi Amo or that you get a feeling you're at a spacious retreat. I've been twice and would definitely go again. Pros: - Dining: The food was great, consistently high-quality meals with lots of options and loved being able to eat outside overlooking river. I am very picky and they fulfilled special requests no questions asked to swap out ingredients and different preparation. It would be great if they rotated the breakfast and dinner menus especially if you stay there longer but they do have nightly dinner specials, and menus have large variety for hotel that size. Would also like pick-up snack options mid-morning and mid-afternoon besides cookies since it's all-inclusive and you are doing a lot of activities. Spa has a huge buffet but if you don't want to go over there they could put their home-made granola bars besides just fruit outside dining room. - Class Variety: Great amount of options for smaller resort in terms of fitness classes, wellness lectures, hikes and night activities. Lots of water activities since it's right on river. - Pools: 2 huge indoor and outdoor pools. Heated indoor pool barn is amazing with great relaxing spa music that i used almost daily when classes were not in session. - Spa: Spa was nice size with everything you'd expect separately for men/women - pools, steam room, sauna, jacuzzi, seating areas and all the services I got (facial, massages, hydro mud circuit) were great. Food spread during day great. - Rooms: Typical garden rooms are nice size, with large bathrooms, large tub, great pillows, huge smart televisions, and decent closet space. You can't hear your neighbors or people walking on the path right outside. Rooms cleaned thoroughly daily. - Staff: Nick and Denis at the front desk with operations are amazing, and attempted to fulfill my individual requests and were always checking in with you and seeing how they can help. Zoey and Jimmy servers that were attentive and learned my likes and dislikes. Onyx at Spa was very knowledgeable and kind and helped accommodate my needs. Front desk staff and class instructors very friendly. - Location: It's about 50minutes from the Austin airport since it's on the river. It has amazing views and lovely to look at while dining or resting on hammock during day. Well-maintained property for the most part. - Gym: Great gym with great lake view with decent amount of upper and lower body machines, free weights, TRX, cardio equipment with tvs and lots of stretching and workout space. Only disappointment was that the reclining bike wasn't working during my stay. Cons: - Food Service: A lot of tim
