Motel 6 Austin, TX - North

Property looked nothing like the pictures used on website when booking. Room smelled a lot like cigarette. Had issues with key card not opening on the door to rooms I booked.

1st of all we only had sheets on our bed no covers second it was only 1 towel in the restroom and we needed more but When we called down there she said the order didn’t come in but when I went down there face to face she said the washing lady didn’t was any yet and that she’s not washing 3rd of all the big pool that we was excited about was dookie green it was soo dirty and disgusting then the shower was dirty so we got a refund and left so if I was you DO NOT COME HERE waste of money!!!!

Couple of dead flies in the corner of the room. Saw 2 live cockroaches over 4 days, clearly dazed from insecticide because they didn't try to run. Some mold on the bathroom walls but shower head and floor were clean. Room door does not fully seal, small amount of rain pooled on the floor as a result. You can hear all of the highway traffic too but the hotel is literally right off I-35 so that's to be expected. Had to ask for new room key after 2 nights when it suddenly stopped working. Staff were very helpful and quick, never had to stand at the front desk longer than 5 minutes. If you want new towels, make sure you ask in the afternoon because they rarely had any available in the morning or evenings.

How clean it was

There was not hot water in the room. The refrigerator did not work (at all). There was no bedspread on the bed, (ust sheets). No wash clothes in the room. and there was a hole (soft spot) in the middle of the floor. The entire facility was old and well worn.

Transit stop nearby connecting to rapid bus route. Close to freeway and inevitable traffic noise but tolerable.
