La Maison de l'Olivier

The hotel will certainly surprise all who stay here. Florian and his wife Emanuelle have done a fabulous job of restoring this historic hotel. It was an oasis with their beautiful pool and they are excellent hosts. We give this great find our highest rating. Thank you Florian and Emanuelle!

I know it's cliche to call a place "a peaceful oasis in the city," but that's exactly what La Maison de l'Olivier is. The front door is unassuming, but once you step into that beautiful backyard, you'll feel so relaxed. The pool, the table, the hot tub--all fantastic. One afternoon, we sat on some tables in the backyard and lunched on some rotisserie chicken we bought at Les Halles, and it was such a lovely time. And the rooms are fantastic! Very modern, very comfortable, A/C, great shower, the works. And finally, the hosts are so incredibly helpful! They go above and beyond to make sure your stay in Avignon is superb, and they are always available to help facilitate restaurant reservations, taxis, and whatever else you might need. I cannot recommend this place strongly enough.

We had a fantastic stay at La Maison De L’Olivier. Florian and Emmanuelle are wonderful hosts - they gave us lots of ideas for things to do and see and the breakfast they provided was exceptional (home made cakes, pancakes, fruit juice and jam). The garden with the pool and hot tub is the perfect place to relax at the end of a day exploring and our room was extremely comfortable. We will definitely stay here again when we return to Avignon.

My wife, three adult children, daughter in law and my daughter's boyfriend stayed for four nights at this beautiful property for four nights at the end of June. Don't be put off by the google map street view of the property. In typical French fashion, the door is modest, but once you step inside the gate, you are transformed into a beautiful garden which includes a swimming pool, hot tub and plenty of space for gathering. As the hotel has a very small number of rooms, the seven of us from our family represented the vast majority of the guests staying at the hotel. We were warmly greeted by the owners, Florian and Emmanuelle and their colleague Christophe, who told us that we should consider ourselves at home for our stay - and they really meant it! My wife and I stayed in "Le Jardin", a beautiful apartment that included a very functional kitchen and private garden. It was perfect for our needs as our children stayed in Le Suite D'Olivier, La Rooftop and La Duplex. The entire property was renovated and opened in June 2023. The rooms have all the modern amenities we wanted, including well-functioning air conditioning and spacious state of the art showers. Each room has its own very tastefully decorated style. Every morning the team prepared a beautiful buffet breakfast with made to order eggs available in addition to the classic continental buffet spread. While the hotel is on a small street, we only needed to walk around the corner to find ourselves in the center of a bustling section of town with many restaurants and local shops of all kinds (cheese shops, wine shops, bakeries, shopping stores, etc.). The town of Avignon is beautiful - large enough to spend plenty of time wandering the mostly pedestrian-only streets and very convenient for day trips to the surrounding areas of Provence. The Palais de Papes is stunning! We visited the Luberon hills one day and organized a day of wine tasting in Chateau Neuf de Pape. In the end, it was the perfect spot for our family vacation and if we ever decide to take another trip to the south of France, we will be staying here again for sure! Everything is perfect for our 2 nights stay. Owner Florian and his wife are excellent hosts. Florian and his wife take great effort to ensure our stay is perfect. We will highly recommend everyone to consider staying here when visiting Avignon.

Our host florien and emanuelle were tremendously friendly and helpful. They made us feel like guests in their home.
