The three star rating is deceptive because it averages a one star check in process with a five star hotel. I was told I could check in until midnight. I got there at 11pm and no one answered the doorbell and no one answered the phone number ******* had for the hotel. Thankfully another guest let me in and gave me the right number to call. The code for my room didn’t work and had to be reset. So after a fifteen minute wait to get in and another ten minutes of phone conversation, I was finally able to get into my room. Once I was in, I couldn’t have been more pleased. The room was fairly large with a king sized bed that was super comfortable and it had a jacuzzi tub that probably costs more than my first car did when new. The building itself is gorgeous on the inside and you feel like you should be paying more than you are. So for the stress of not being sure I would even be able to get in the front door, I give one star, but have to acknowledge that the property is absolutely first rate. I recognize that mine was an unusual situation but I was guaranteed assistance that wasn’t provided. I should note that parking near the hotel is virtually nonexistent as it is throughout most cities in Europe but of course that’s not the hotel’s fault, just a FYI. If you’re going to arrive before the desk clerk leaves, absolutely book a stay there. If you might arrive after, consider another choice.
