The hotel is well-located, with easy access to shops, bars, and restaurants. Built in the 1950s, the rooms are clean and comfortable, though they feel a bit tired and would benefit from an upgrade, particularly in the bathroom. The gardens are neat and tidy, though some work could be done to restore them to their original glory. The pool was cloudy, though I’m not sure why, which somewhat diminished the appeal of swimming. Breakfast was enjoyable, but note that the selection isn’t vast. The juice took me back to the ’80s, as it tasted like Tang.
