Copenhagen Hotels with Bars

Came here based on a recommendation from Xiaohongshu, but I have to say it's more about looks than functionality. The design is really strong, but the actual room functionality for staying here is pretty mediocre. I wouldn't recommend it for business travelers. The room is very dark, only suitable for a leisurely stay. Overall, this hotel feels like it's all style and no substance.

This hostel is incredibly well-equipped, with excellent facilities, including a separate luggage storage area and even a cinema. There's a buffet breakfast and dinner available for an extra charge, and different activities are offered daily which you can join. You don't have to put on your own sheets, which is very convenient. It's clean and tidy, and if you're looking for a transit stay, it's super convenient. The 5C bus goes directly to the front door – it's a lifesaver! Self check-in is also very easy and quick. Highly recommend staying here!!!

The hotel and casino are integrated, and the service is on par with a normal five-star hotel. Breakfast was also good; the yogurt was fresh, and the dark bread was delicious. The room also offered a great view. The only annoying thing was that the parking lot isn't managed by the hotel. You have to log into an all-Danish website within 48 hours to pay, which was really frustrating. And the hotel front desk couldn't assist with payment either... Otherwise, everything else was wonderful!

I was around the city for 3days of design and happy for the stay (female share room). The room is pretty clean except there was no curtain for each bed and bathroom was tiny than expected. The hostel is nearby the metro station and easy to walk down to the city center. It’s surrounded by a small lake, people used to running and jogging there a lot. Also, You can pay 100 DKK for late check-out and stay until 1:00 PM. But no early check-in was available. Instead there’s a storage downstairs which charge me 2 hours for 25 DKK and 6 hours for 40 DKK.

Huge thanks to the handsome front desk staff for upgrading us to a family room with a sofa bed – the view was absolutely stunning, we were so lucky! The hotel's overall location is also very convenient, just a 5-6 minute walk to the subway station. The breakfast selection was quite diverse, and generally, it offers excellent value for money!

The hostel was easy to find, few minutes from the metro which was important to me. Every staffmember was really friendly and helpful, the atmosphere was welcoming. The tent was small for 4 persons but I knew that I will mostly just sleep there, the bed was comfortable and clean. I read in other reviews that a curtain would be nice, I agree with that also. The bathroom was really big, plenty of showers and toilets, there was hot water every time which was also important to me. I had breakfast on a few days, which was also good and I really liked sitting in the outside tables, I also had a chance to connect with other travellers every day. On the last day I left my luggage in one of the lockers so I could explore the city freely, that was also a good bonus. They provided earplugs, which I used during my sleep, overall all ”campers” were respectful and quiet after 10 pm but still it was a lot of people in a small space. For solo travellers this is a good choice as the hotel prices are 4-5 times higher.

We had a good stay at Downtown hostel, the location was perfect and close to everything, the breakfast was good for the price, but i wish the check-in process was easier, for us and also the receptionists who were very helpful still but we kept having issues with our cabine room door, the digital code worked once in a while :(. The rooms are poorly soundproofed which was quite disturbing…also we forgot a console in our cabin room the day of our check out and contacted the hostel by email but never got an answer back…

This hotel requires self check-in. The automated room assignment was a triple room. However, after checking in on the first day, I found that it didn't match the photos shown on Trip.com. There was no TV, and the bedside lamp was completely non-functional. When I informed the front desk (which is located in the sister hotel next door, Absalon Hotel), I was told that this room doesn't include a TV (but I later found there was clearly a TV monitor in the room). They claimed Trip.com made a mistake, and the front desk staff were unfriendly. They told me to speak to housekeeping myself about getting the lamp fixed. I had no choice but to contact Trip.com, and the platform was very proactive in helping me. However, the hotel's response was very passive. The hotel didn't even apologize initially and demanded that I bring my luggage downstairs and re-check in, even though I had already stayed one day. It was clearly the hotel's mistake and an act of deceiving the guest, yet they still demanded that I... The hotel's front desk requires going up stairs with luggage, and even after taking the elevator to the floor, there's another short flight of stairs to navigate. This is extremely inconvenient for a family traveling with 32-inch and 28-inch suitcases and backpacks. To experience the fun of different hotels during our trip, I also stayed at the sister hotel next door, Absalon Hotel. It was a complete contrast; the service attitude of the front desk at the two hotels was completely different. This is why I'm giving 'one star for service'!! (I don't even want to give one star).

⭐⭐⭐⭐ Excellent location & great value The hotel is overall very good. Service is decent and satisfactory, nothing outstanding but perfectly fine. Location is truly excellent! It’s very easy to get here from the airport: take the direct bus, only costs 30 DKK per person, and it’s just a 2-minute walk to the hotel after getting off. It’s also very convenient for getting around: about 15 minutes to the train station, 20 minutes to the city centre, and 30–40 minutes to the main tourist attractions on foot. The room is a bit small, but small yet fully equipped — everything you need is there, clean and practical. Overall a great choice, especially for anyone valuing convenient transport!

My overall stay was quite pleasant. The room, though not large, was well-designed, clean, and tidy. The bed was comfortable, and all basic amenities were provided. The bathroom was a bit compact, but perfectly functional for daily use. The hotel offers self-service check-in and check-out, which was simple and convenient. The hotel's location is excellent, close to both the Ørestad Metro and train stations, all within walking distance. There's also the large Fields shopping center nearby. It's super convenient for getting to Copenhagen city center by metro or Copenhagen Airport by train, making it ideal for tourists. Breakfast was also more extensive than I expected, with croissants, bread, ham, salami, cheese, eggs, and vegetables like cucumbers, cherry tomatoes, and bell peppers. There was a good variety, and it was a very decent hotel breakfast. The only thing I think could be improved is the soundproofing in the rooms; it's a bit weak. Sometimes I could hear noise from the hallway or other rooms, which might be an issue for light sleepers. Overall, with its convenient transportation, clean rooms, good breakfast, and decent value for money, it was a very satisfactory stay. I would definitely consider staying here again on my next visit to Copenhagen.
