Guest UserWhat a lovely stay in Crete! This hotel is gorgeous and spotless. The Breakfast Buffet was outstanding, and every staff member I encountered during my 3-day stay was smiling and helpful. My Executive seaside room was spacious and well-furnished, and it was a perfect place to recharge on my 3-week journey. It was an easy walk from the port (I arrived with SeaJets), and the public bus to the Palace of Knossos was waiting for me right below the hotel the next day. The concierge gave great advice on places to visit, and called for the (15€!) taxi when it was time to get to the airport. Efharistó, Megaron!

Stayed here 1 night as an extra night due to late flight arrival times so we didn’t burn a day at our all inclusive. Hotel is brand new, clean, comfortable and very well located. As a family of 4 we had a double joining room. Staff were absolutely brilliant and went out their way to be so friendly and nice. It had a small gym but all good equipment, perfect for a short stay, breakfast buffet was decent for a short stay… Would highly recommend if you want a modern, clean and nice hotel. We spent the part of the day exploring Heraklion before heading to Panormos to our all inclusive. A+

Guest UserThe hotel is in a good location, close to the commercial street, and it takes more than ten minutes to walk to the bus terminal and the port. However, the service level of the front desk is poor, and the professionalism is insufficient, especially the young lady on duty in the afternoon. We booked three rooms for 7 people. On the first day, each room was only given one door card, and each person was required to have a ticket. After repeated negotiations, she changed the subject and did not respond positively. Another lady at the front desk knew our request and made several door cards for us. We have two family rooms, and the wrong rooms were arranged (different room types). We opened our luggage and packed up and changed rooms again. We stayed for three days, but there were only two bottles of bottled water in the refrigerator (two-person room), and they were not refilled after cleaning. We negotiated with her, saying that it was the hotel policy to only provide free bottled water for one day, and guests would have to buy it on the first floor in the future. If we talk again, she simply ignored us with a dark face! The most outrageous thing was the last day. During breakfast in the morning, 3 of us took our luggage to the lobby so that we could check out after the meal and rush to the pier to take the boat. The man on duty at the front desk did not let their suitcases in and put them outside the door (out of sight of the front desk). After the meal, three suitcases were missing! We hurriedly negotiated with the man on duty, but he had no idea and said that they might have been loaded onto a truck and taken to the dock. We ran to the street and found a group of people loading luggage onto a truck, and then we found our luggage. This is the worst service of the four hotels we stayed in during our trip to Greece, and it is also the only one we gave a bad review.

We recently stayed at the Metropole and had a wonderful experience. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, making us feel welcome from the moment wr arrived. The room was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed. The location was great, close to everything we wanted to see and do. The breakfast buffet was great with plenty of choices. I highly recommend staying here for a comfortable and enjoyable stay while in Greece. There are a maze of options but you will do yourself a favour by staying here.

We were impressed with the breakfast. We also felt like kings due to the three beds that were provided for my wife and I. She was a big fan of the praline spread but I almost went into a chocolate coma! However this wasn’t the best we’ve ever had; the coffee was bitter.

Enjoyed the stay at the hostel. The people (Volunteers) at the desk were very helpful. The rooftop is a good place to hangout and meet fellow travellers. Location is in close proximity to main shopping areas of Heraklion. Also has a 24 hour convenience store within a 5 minute walk. Overall, it was a very good experience.

Looks great in the pictures, though it's quite old, the walls are dirty, the toilet is dripping constantly. It's a very basic hotel, that's why I believe the price I paid wasn't worth it.
Buffet at the 6th floor has a nice view of the port, and breakfast looks ok for €8, I haven't eaten there.
They squiz fresh oranges!
Lovely staff!

YouwenhuadechongziThe room was clean and tidy, the kitchen was well equipped, and there was a small supermarket in the lobby. In particular, the front desk staff was very warm and friendly, and gave us handwritten bus routes and bus stop names. The bus stop was not far from the hotel, which was very helpful for us to visit the city (the bus driver did not understand English).

The Hotel Irakion is right in the centre of te Cretan capital. Excellent position to visit all attractions, museum, Lion Square etc or to just wander around taking in the atmosphere. Plenty of restaurants nearby.
An open grill opposite the hotel was perfect to get a souvlaki to take back at night and eat it on the balcony with ouzo from the small 24 hour shop opposite hotel.
The hotel itself I well run, clean. Has 24 hour reception.
The room offered everything needed, hot shower, toiletries, plenty of loo roll towels and a fridge. Comfy large beds. Balcony with table and chairs.
They also provided a decent hot and cold buffet to suit almost all tastes. The breakfast sets you up for the day of whatever you're doing next.
Enjoy Greece 🇬🇷
