"Overall, it was okay. I arrived at 12:30 and they allowed me to check in straight away. It's located between Omicho Market and Higashichaya. While it's close to Omicho Market, it's not exactly in a great location.
The hotel has the feel of a guesthouse. There's a cafe and bar on the first floor, and a water server.
It's a hotel with a guesthouse feel, with private rooms.
The rooms are average. The doors don't auto-lock. They're reasonably spacious. The bathroom is very small. The room quality isn't high, but it's not inconvenient. It's nice that the TV is a smart TV.
There are no particular issues, but there aren't any special services or facilities, and it's not particularly good value for money. There are many good, cheap hotels in Kanazawa, so personally I prefer regular hotels."

Amazing
AAriiiiiiiiiiWords cannot describe how great this hotel is. The rooms are spacious and clean, the downstairs common area is beautiful, and the food available is stunning. But nothing even comes close to the hosts. They are such genuine and lovely people, easy to chat to and proud of what they have. My first night I was somewhat anxious but the host was so warm and welcoming, leading to us having some lovely conversations over a nice glass of beer. Even after I had forgotten to return my key after checkout, the host offered me to drive me back to the station in order to get the train. This didnt feel like typical service, it felt like pure genuine kindness and pride for a lovely business.
If you're in Kanazawa you'd be doing yourself a disservice by not going here. Even if you're not staying, swing by for lunch or one of their extensive range of teas.
AAnonymous UserThe room was spacious, but the breakfast was basic. Having stayed in several three- and four-star hotels in Japan, the breakfast at Omo5 was the simplest, with only three set menus to choose from. It wasn't to my taste, especially for a three-day stay. It was truly disappointing.
GGuest UserThe first time I went to Kanazawa, the hotel was great. It was suitable for family and children. There was a separate washing machine in the bathroom. There was also a drying rack in the muji room. The fragrance spray refrigerator and the freezer were also prepared. There was a supermarket next door downstairs. I bought some delicious ice cream in the refrigerator. It was really square. Just next to the hotel front desk is a small bar. At night, I will listen to the vinyl records. I will drink a whisky. Special reminder. We live on the 9th floor (top floor) and have a balcony. You can see the scenery outside at any time. I just watched the fireworks and sunrise that day. A great experience.
AAnonymous UserThis hotel is clearly showing its age and may not meet expectations for those looking for a more modern or well-maintained stay. While it carries the IHG branding, the overall experience feels dated.
One of the main challenges was communication. The front desk staff had very limited English proficiency, making it difficult to get clear directions—especially regarding parking. Guests are required to go to the front desk to ask about parking arrangements, which is not very convenient. The signage outside is also misleading, and it’s easy to mistakenly park at a nearby open-air lot that charges ¥100 per 15 minutes or ¥1000 for 12 hours. The hotel’s designated parking is actually located in a shopping mall, which is not immediately obvious.
The rooms themselves are quite old, with worn facilities. The bathroom had a noticeable musty smell, suggesting poor ventilation or maintenance. Amenities were basic—Dove toiletries were provided instead of the more commonly seen Pola brand in Japanese hotels. The air conditioning was also ineffective, which made the stay less comfortable.
That said, the hotel does have one strong advantage: location. It is directly opposite Ōmichō Market, making it very convenient for exploring the market and enjoying a great local breakfast.
Overall, this hotel may be suitable for travelers
who prioritize location over comfort, but those expecting a smoother and more modern stay might want to consider other options.
GGuest UserI made a reservation for 2 nights and 3 days for my daughter's university entrance exam, but later decided to book an additional night, so we stayed for 3 nights and 4 days. The room for the 2 nights was not available, so we planned to use a different room for the 1st night, but they adjusted it so that we stayed in the same room for all 3 nights. My daughter was nervous about staying alone and taking the exam, but they kindly agreed to our request for a wake-up call and included a letter saying ”Please come visit us again” when we left, so we are very grateful for their warm hospitality.
Thank you very much.
We would definitely like to use your services again.
SSS_shirleyThe hotel is industrial and youthful, and the details are quite design-oriented. The front desk spoke good English when checking in, so communication was stress-free. Free drinks and beer are provided, and bicycles are available for rent next to the lobby on the first floor. In fact, if the weather is good, Kanazawa is indeed suitable for cycling around the city.
The room area is also spacious among Japanese rooms. Two 28-inch suitcases can be spread out, and people will not bump into anything when walking inside. It is about 1.5 kilometers away from Kanazawa Station, Kenrokuen Garden, etc., which is acceptable even if you take a taxi~
