Goreme Hotels with Bars

The room was warm as if it had floor heating; it was very cozy as soon as I walked in. My room was on the first floor, the closest to the front desk, and it was quite comfortable. The breakfast, however, was very ordinary, with limited options and almost everything was cold. But that's normal. Foreign tastes won't match ours, which is understandable. I just stuck to eating fries; those were to my taste. As for the service, it was normally good. They extended my check-out by an hour and allowed luggage storage. I booked the airport shuttle through the hotel for 500 Lira. I didn't find any issues with the cleanliness. All in all, it's still worth staying here! You won't feel like you've made a bad choice or had a terrible experience. The bus station to the town is super close, and you can take the bus to explore the surrounding areas. But to be honest, besides hot air ballooning, there's really nothing much to do in this town. The nearby attractions are all quite boring, the kind where I'd take a quick look and want to leave. One night here is enough. The most important thing is the hot air balloon.

The room was very satisfying, with underfloor heating that kept it warm no matter how cold it was outside. It was genuinely carved out of a cave, not a later construction. The hotel itself is quite large, especially since it has its own restaurant. The food was very much to Chinese taste; it was the best chicken and beef rice I had in Turkey. The only minor issue is that the hotel doesn't provide complimentary drinking water. I asked the staff for two bottles, and they charged me for them upon checkout. I'm okay with paying, but I'm not okay with them not mentioning it at the time and only bringing it up during checkout. Plus, I think providing daily drinking water for guests is something a hotel should do. I'd still rate it a 9.5; overall, I'm quite happy with my stay.

A heavenly place with soul and stunning views ✨ We stayed at Divan Cave House in Göreme and didn't regret it for a second. It's a true fairytale amidst the stony streets of Cappadocia. The hotel captivates with its cozy terraces offering amazing views. It's like a postcard in front of you: hot air balloons, rocks, and valleys. A truly soulful place where you want to linger with a cup of tea. Special thanks to the staff. The guys are incredibly responsive. But the main gems of the hotel are the ladies – both at the front desk and in the restaurant 😍 Such a combination of beauty and humor is rare to find! It was easy and fun to chat with them; they radiated positivity from the first minute and created a homey atmosphere. Thank you for your smiles and jokes – you are the true stars of Divan Cave House! The rooms deserve a separate description. Everything is perfectly clean. The linen is fresh, the bathroom sparkles, yet the authentic charm is preserved. No dampness or dust, which is surprising for rooms carved into rocks. In short, if you want to experience Cappadocia with comfort and a smile, and not just 'sleep over' – this is the place for you. We will definitely be back! 🔥

We absolutely enjoyed our stay with Sultan. The staff were amazing & helped us very much! A big shoutout to Darina, Yunus & all the rest who has helped us so attentively & replied to our messages whenever they can! One thing I would change about my trip is to make all my bookings with them! They actually have a list of vendors they worked with & in house tours which we can signed up for. We went for the Breakfast Tour & the Hammam at their sister’s hotel, both of it we absolutely loved. We would also like to commend Shams’ hospitality in guiding us on the Breakfast Tour, making our stay in Cappadocia such an enjoyable & restorative one ❤️

A truly beautiful hotel, I loved the overall vibe. After staying one night in a cave hotel, it was nice to experience a different style. The room was clean, tidy, and odor-free, though the toilet and bathroom were a bit small. The showerhead in the bathroom was like a telephone receiver, which was fun to pick up and place back on the holder. There's a ramen shop right opposite the hotel, and it's quite easy to find. The hotel staff's uniforms are all custom-made and look great, and the staff themselves are all handsome men and beautiful women, haha, you'll see what I mean when you go there.

Considering it is a 3-star property, I was pleasantly surprised by the rooms. I requested for a cave room with a window, which was definitely the right choice—it made the space feel much fresher and ensured great ventilation, so it didn't feel damp or stuffy at all. The layout and style were truly unique and interesting. Also, the croissants at breakfast were absolutely delicious! However, the facilities are quite dated. The biggest issue was the water supply: it was very difficult to adjust the temperature for both the taps and the shower. The hot water was inconsistent, and we often had to wait for a very long time before it finally heated up enough to use comfortably. On the service side, the regular staff members were absolutely lovely—friendly, helpful, and always polite. Unfortunately, the experience was completely ruined by the manager. During our stay, we had an issue with our luggage and asked the hotel for assistance. Instead of helping or showing any willingness to resolve the problem, the manager was uncooperative and rude. He provided misleading information and told us to call the police but threatened us that if is not the hotel's fault, he will sue us instead, what's worse is that he threatened we would not be able to leave Cappadocia due to the investigation. This was extremely unprofessional, intimidating, and unacceptable behavior for someone in a management position. In short, the room and location are okay for the price, but be prepared for inconsistent hot water and, more worryingly, very poor and threatening behavior from the male manager if you ever need help.

Avlu Cave Hotel is a quaint famiily-owned hotel of about 8 rooms. It is conveniently located 3-4 minutes from the Goreme center. During our stay, we received first class service from the manager, Jan, and his assistant, Naji. Within minutes of arriving at the hotel, Jan offered breakfast. The buffet of traditional Turkish breakfast and some continental items was beautifully laid out in their breakfast room. I did not think we had breakfast on arrival day, but I was thankful for this generosity as we left Istanbul so early and were ready for a good meal. In no time also, Jan and Naji, who were really very hospitable, filled in with activities our incomplete tour plan. They made arrangements for the horseback riding sunset ride, the hot air balloon ride, and one of the tours. They also arranged earlier our airport pickup and later, transport to the airport. The room we occupied had a balcony and we made good use of it to soak in Goreme in between our outings. Avlu Cave Hotel provided us the perfect homey ambiance that we wanted to experience in Cappadocia. This is an ideal place for solo travelers, couples, as well as families.

The highlights are definitely the amenities and the location. Everything you need is nearby, restaurants, grocery stores, ATMs, and even a bus terminal, making it very convenient for travelers. The breakfast was also good, with a decent variety of options. However, as someone who prefers having rice with every meal, I found the selection a bit limited in that aspect. There were a few downsides worth mentioning. The toilet flush in my room seemed to be faulty as it kept running continuously. Also, one night I suspect that someone may have entered my room since I accidentally left the door unlocked, and I noticed a valuable item was missing. I reported this to the receptionist and requested a CCTV check, but as of writing this review, I haven’t received any update. Despite these issues, my overall experience was still positive. The staff were generally accommodating, and the location really makes a big difference. For future guests, I’d recommend always double-checking that your door is locked for added security.

1. **Cleanliness**: Both the room and bathroom were spotlessly clean. 2. **Environment**: 1) The hotel's location is excellent; all the main areas of town are within a 5-10 minute walk. 2) The hotel has a small courtyard where you can relax in the sun on nice days. 3) Further up from the rooms, there's a pool, a simple observation deck, and more. The hotel's overall scale feels very comfortable. 3. **Service**: 1) The owner at the front desk was very friendly and humorous, and spoke fluent English, making communication easy. 2) The two complimentary bottles of water in the room felt a bit scarce, especially since the heating made the room dry and required frequent hydration. When we asked the owner for more, they readily provided them. It would be even better if more bottles were provided by default. 4. **Facilities**: 1) The room, especially the bathroom, was very spacious, and with two large windows, it had excellent natural light. 2) The 'Sehzade' room type comes with a bathtub, and the bathroom also features a stone platform for a Turkish bath, though I didn't try it. 3) The room also has a small balcony, which was perfect for sitting with friends, soaking up the sun, and chatting. Overall, the experience was well worth the price, perhaps even exceeding expectations. I would definitely consider staying here again on my next visit if there aren't other particularly unique hotels I want to try.

For all you ladies looking to snap some amazing photos, this hotel is a no-brainer! We stayed here on our last day in Cappadocia, after two nights in a cave hotel, and the change was actually quite nice! Before booking, I did see some reviews from fellow Chinese travelers, which made me a little hesitant. And indeed, there were a couple of minor issues during our stay. However, we believe that when traveling, it's best not to create problems for yourself or be too nitpicky, so overall, it was acceptable. Let me elaborate: Firstly, at check-in, the front desk guy asked if we needed help with our luggage. Since I was with my husband and we could manage it ourselves, and also worried he might suddenly ask for a tip, we politely declined to avoid any unnecessary hassle. He then just took us to the room door and left, maintaining a friendly attitude throughout. Secondly, because we had an early flight the next morning, when the front desk lady was showing us the restaurant, I mentioned our early departure. She offered to prepare two packed breakfasts for us to pick up at the front desk, which I agreed to. I had seen previous comments from other women who said their promised packed breakfast never materialized, so I mentally prepared myself for that possibility. Sure enough, when we checked out at 7 AM the next morning, the lady wasn't there. It was a different guy. I checked out with him, and he said he needed to check the room. We waited at the front desk, and after he checked, he said everything was okay. He didn't offer us any packed breakfast, and I didn't ask about it either, still operating on the principle of 'less is more.' On one hand, I didn't want an argument, and on the other hand, we'd been in Turkey for many days and knew their breakfasts were mostly cold dishes, which we aren't used to, so I didn't feel it was a big deal. Aside from that, I found the front desk guy's demeanor to be perfectly fine; he was friendly the whole time. If you find the above situations acceptable, then this hotel is an excellent choice for you! I also saw many Chinese compatriots staying there, mostly pretty ladies here to check in and take photos. It truly does make for great pictures! Just snap away and you're good to go! That's all! Hope this helps everyone!
