We had a great stay at hotel Colorado in Glenwood Springs. Of course it’s amazing to stay in an iconic hotel that has existed for 130 years, and it’s charm and decor do not disappoint. The renovated rooms have maintained their charm, while having a little style update. The staff is amazing – very helpful and willing to make sure that your stay is an enjoyable one. In the summer, do not miss dining on the patio.
There’s more to explore in Glenwood Springs than you can see in a day. Yet wandering The Hotel Maxwell Anderson is an adventure of its own. If our walls could talk, they’d tell stories of the railroad, immigrant struggles, prohibition, WWII, and the good old days—all wrapped in a modern Glenwood Springs experience.

We had stayed at the Hotel Denver years ago, and did not realize at the time of booking that the Hotel Maxwell Anderson was the same place, rebranded. What a nice facelift! The location is totally convenient, walking distance to the pool and downtown. Check-in was easy, the front desk clerks were friendly and helpful. This was a last minute trip and were trying to make this a budget-friendly stay and chose an inside king room. It was small, but well appointed, comfy and cozy. We get to Glenwood once or twice a year, and this will be our go-to place from now on. Ours was a mid-week stay, I felt that it was an excellent value, not sure how the prices would be on the weekend.

We stayed for three nights, hotel was very clean, we did have a problem with bathroom window in room 252 that couldn't lock. It was our decision to wait to tell maintenance until we departed. It was a second floor window and we wedged hangers in the side so no one could open. The breakfast was okay, they seemed to have trouble keeping the food supplied, but it was still very good. The firepits and pickleball courts were fun and loved an evening in the hot tub. This would be a nice hotel for families, with plenty of on ground entertainment!
SSomersetBoy91Nice hotel a short distance from Glenwood springs centre. Big car park with a nice view from most rooms. Not far from the springs and adventure area if you’ve stopped off for that. We drove into the centre but you could walk if you had longer. Couldn’t ask for anything more from a hotel here.
GGuest UserThis place was a great value. It was clean and the beds were comfortable. The couch was very low and sunken which made it uncomfortable. The kitchen was poorly stocked with bowl for serving and mixing and it needed a baking dish. My biggest complaint was the employee on break sitting in the lobby arguing very loudly in Spanish on speaker phone. I was on the other end of the room and could plainly hear both sides of the conversation! After 30 minutes he went behind the Reception desk. The woman working the desk did not ask him to have his phone call elsewhere and ignored the whole event. It was quite irritating.
GGuest UserNice hotel. They were not able to help me with my cancelation request because I booked through trip.com which apparently I was told by the desk clerk that ”they don't work with them” which I find odd considering I was able to book a room with them via trip.com. This was disappointing. I feel this needs a second look.
GGuest UserThis past summer several of us were in CO on a motorcycle trip. While my wife and I were checking into this hotel we received a call from another one in our party that one of our guys had crashed on his motorcycle. Renee (mgr) and the other women working the front desk heard parts of the conversation and immediately offered any help and assistance they could provide. There genuine concern, caring and willingness to help was without question one of the highlights of our 3 wk 5500 mi trip. On top of that it was one of cleanest and best maintained of the many HI's we stayed at. I am sorry it took me so long to post this but found out Renee is still the manager and I am confident her hotel and staff are still doing a great job.
This hotel was nice enough. It was comfortable and clean. There were two main issues that made me give it a lower rating. The breakfast area didn’t have enough seating. It was a decent open area, but they had two large tables with lounge style chairs. Those two tables took up most of the space and only accommodated 4 people each. It meant far too little seating for the number of guests. Also, the front desk manager was covering this hotel and the Quality Inn across the street. When we checked in and checked out there was no one there. We waited and he finally came from across the street. He was very nice and helpful when he was there. I have mixed feelings on whether I’d stay here again.
GGuest UserThey have fixed the elevator, the water heaters, and ventilations to each room. I will give this hotel a 5 star review if they do the following: They should do a quality room check before guess check in. My room's (305) tub and sink weren't draining correctly, the over head lamp in the bathroom wasn't functioning, the AC/Heating unit was tripped, wall paper is pealing in the bathroom, and a couple of lamp shades are broken. They should replace old wall papers. They should change the carpet. All in all, I was pleased with the customer care and service, even though the discount they gave me for having issues with my room, wasn't up to par. The cleaning staff were great! Front desk young lady, Dulce, was an amazing hostess. The breakfast was good. The maintenance person, Cesar, was friendly and efficient at fixing some of the issues with my room. I look forward to staying here again, as a valued Hilton Honors member, I will continue to be a loyal customer. I only hope that they take my review seriously and brings this up to at least one more star next time I visit Glenwood Springs.
The number one reason we picked this motel was there is a short river walk between the motel and the Colorado river. This motel was a pleasant surprise. It was better than most motels in this price range. It had the usual wear and tear here and there, but much less than I expected. We stayed in a handicap room with a roll in shower. The room met all ADA requirements but one. The room door was set way too strong. I’m not handicap but I am 80. I had to use my shoulder to push open the door. The bathroom had a large shower area and a few upgrades that made this an excellent bathroom. The room: Refrigerator was quieter than average. AC looked to be fairly new and was as quiet as any. Clean room. Nicely done room. Bed comfortable. It had a sofa bed couch, that like all motels, is too low for a lot of handicap people. Staff: All friendly, no issues here. Breakfast was keeping with a lower tier motel. In some ways better. Waffles better than I’ve had, good eggs and an auto coffee maker that makes coffee in three strengths. We plan to come back. Overall a 4.6 experience.
