Best Western Preston Garstang Country Hotel and Golf Club

This is our third time staying at Best Western Garstang. The room got a nice view. As usual, we have a quiet room, warm and cosy. A comfy night again.

We got married recently and had our reception at the Garstang. From start to finish, the staff couldn't do enough for us. The communication in the lead up to our day was brilliant from Julie, the events coordinator. We stayed the night before and the rooms were spacious and comfortable. On the day, we were giving a tasty breakfast and the staff were fabulous in setting up the reception area on our behalf. The wedding meal was tasty and the bar was well stocked. The bridal suite was absolutely fantastic and surpassed our expectations. The evening staff, especially mark, were so helpful and made clearing up the next day very easy. Our family and friends really enjoyed the wedding and those that stayed over had a good night as well. Would recommend! I also think the wedding prices were very reasonable

Just a 1 nighter this time but excellent, as usual. Although not the hotels fault, there was a great deal of rowdy noise during the night.

I wasn’t expecting much from this hotel considering how much we paid for one night but was very pleasantly surprised. We arrived at 7.30pm and checked in with no problems. We had booked ahead with the restaurant as we knew we were arriving late and the food and service was excellent. Couldn’t fault the evening meal at all. The room was a good size, comfy bed and everything that you would need. Very quiet during the night. We had to state what time we wanted breakfast, which was a bit inconvenient but could understand why they wanted to know and breakfast was of good quality but limited choice. I definitely stay again. Note - safe parking for people travelling on motorbikes

Lovely hotel we have been to this hotel a lot in the last ten years, any problems have been dealt with efficiently. It’s only small but really good value for money, we stayed for two nights this time fir golf dinner bed and breakfast. The golf course is beautiful and well worth a visit, it’s got some tricky holes. All my friends have visited and love it.

Our stay at the Garstang was memorable, it was our first time in the area but found the staff, food and sleeping was all first class and a credit to the Garstang, although we are not golfers the experience at the Garstang still left us wanting to return - thank you

We loved this hotel. Beautiful setting in the Lancashire countryside. The golf course and garden are beautifully cared for and it's so peaceful. We booked a classic room which was large and clean and had everything we needed. Big fluffy towels, super king comfy bed and as requested, a child bed was added, which cost only £5 per night which included her breakfast. Breakfast was best we've had in ages. Buffet style and kept really hot and fresh. Good coffee, juices, cereals, cute mini milk bottles and great quality sausages, bacon, fresh mushrooms etc. Great service by Anne and her daughter and the rest of the team. Our room on 1st floor was really hot which was the only downside. Nothing the hotel can do about this. We had a fan and window wide open and on request they changed our bedding to flat sheets instead of the( very cosy) duvets. But we were still roasting. It was quite warm this week but it was much warmer in the room than outside. Some people might love this I guess! Great value mini break with our 5 year old who loved the hotel. We visited Billy bobs twice and guys thatched hamlet, both a few mins from the hotel. Blackpool half an hour away. Also bought some cheese at Dewlays, 2 mins away by car. We enjoyed fab evening meals at The Horns (Sunday roast) and Barton Bangla Brasserie.

Just stayed here. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was really nice and slept well. It is a bit dated but it's sold as 3 star so I think it's unfair to make comments of "luxury" when it's not meant to be. Breakfast was self service, with plenty of choice and fresh produce. Would stay again as thought was good value for money.

I’ll start with the golf, upon arrival I had pre-booked a caddy to which the battery was terrible as been told someone had already been out in it this morning… after returning it after 3 holes I was given another that was ‘fully charged’ it would have been quicker to walk it was that old and slow. The pro shop worker was rude and not very professional in my opinion, after checking my booking he was going to charge me for the round that was included in the hotel package I was bought and I made him aware to which his reply was well it doesn’t say anything here. After calling the hotel and there system being down to check anything he said oh just go on, for my first time at this course I won’t be recommending it to anyone. Food- my partner had the chicken and it didn’t arrive as described on the menu, the chicken looked as it had been boiled and hot held and the peas clearly nuked in a microwave, we did mention upon our plates being taken away that the chicken wasn’t great to which the manager came across and apologised and took it off our bill , now little to my knowledge my partner had asked for anything special as a surprise for me as it was a 30th celebration to which when the manager came across to apologise for the chicken and mentioned would you like a free pudding for the inconvenience and then said ‘you are celebrating I saw the message you left ‘which kind of put a dampener on the whole point of asking for the surprise. the rooms- its a very out dated hotel which needs investment, in the hall ways there was a horrible damp smell that lingered in the rooms. a cleaner also entered the room without knocking just walked in the door to which i was naked and my partner in a towel after showering, how in this day and age aren't people knocking before entering a hotel room is beyond me and lacks attention to detail with training, dropping the keys off at reception we wasn't asked how our stay was just what room number are you and leave your key there.
