A hotel that sets the thermostat for you and won’t allow you to reduce the temperature for your comfort is NOT a 5 star hotel. If you’re a middle aged woman who needs a very cool room to sleep in, please do NOT book this hotel. The thermostat is fixed at a minimum level and it cannot be lowered and the suite gets stuffy and very warm. My husband and I have stayed at many real 5 star hotels before like the Four seasons Hotels in many destinations and you, the guests are allowed to adjust the thermostat yourself. I guess Chewton Glen wants to take your 5 star money but not offer you 5 star services. They are clearly trying to cut their energy costs way down. I might as well be staying in Motel 6!! Also the check in areas and lobby and lounge areas are all dated and worn out. The sofas, carpets and floor fixings are all tired looking!

Our stay at Chewton Glen was absolutely magical. The staff, food, room and facilities were second to none. I would recommend the hotel to anyone who was looking for a special treat as you are really looked after. I would encourage everyone to try the fantastic food at the Kitchen. We were even offered a lift down to the restaurant in a golf buggy to avoid the rain !

Party of four celebrating the birthday of my daughter in law for afternoon tea. The service and food were outstanding with lovely surroundings. This was service at its best with lovely gardens and facilities. A bit pricey for some, but good for that special treat.

It was wonderful to return to Chewton Glen after over a decade. My daughters were excited to return with their children - a custom robe and slippers for my 16 month old granddaughter was a cute touch. We also brought friends who had not been there before and they were blown away. We were welcomed and looked after at every turn.

We recently visited the spa at the beautiful Chewton Glen. From the minute we walked through the door we were met with smiles and warmth. The whole spa had a calm, relaxing atmosphere. A special mention to the spa attendant, Jay. He was extremely helpful and was always on hand to point us in the right direction. Nothing was too much for Jay…a true asset to the spa! Thank you for looking after us so well. We will be back!

It’s difficult to know where to begin writing a review for The Chewton Glen as I don’t want to miss anyone out. My wife and I have just arrived home from celebrating our third wedding anniversary at the hotel. We were married here in 2021. It’s the staff that make this place the more than well deserved five stars it has. There are not enough stars for the level of service, the way they make you feel like the only guests, the beautiful rooms and surroundings. We are at The Kitchen the food and service both wonderful. The little touches like they knew it was our wedding anniversary and so greeted us with a glass of champagne, we arrived to an upgraded room!! The beautiful cocktails before dinner. I also need to mention Ellen in the spa who is THE best pedicure person I have ever seen (and I’ve had a lot!) if you are staying and love pampering your nails… she is the person you must book with! My wife had a detox focus wrap/massage and raved about this too. We stayed in one of the junior suites… immaculate and well stocked with little treats for us too. Thank you Chewton Glen for exceeding our expectations once again. We have arrived home fully relaxed and will be back again soon x

I wanted to express my sincere gratitude for the exceptional experience my father and I had at Chewton Glen Restaurant yesterday afternoon. It was the first time in six years that we had spent Father's Day together, and it was made all the more special by the surprise at the afternoon tea you helped arrange, going abov and beyond and then some! My father was truly surprised and delighted, and he thoroughly enjoyed his day. I am so grateful to you and the team for going above and beyond to make it a special occasion. Treehouse was lovely but the hotel is dated and needs renovating! The restaurant in the hotel (the dining room! was very poor - food was awful, service slow and atmosphere odd. The spa cafe also was a strange area that looked like a school canteen again very dated. The treehouse luxury doesn’t match the hotel. Sadly the hotel is not 5 star standard. We did have a lovely lunch in the kitchen restaurant though.
