Haus Holzapfel

Very clean and comfortable stay with very good service. Appreciated the aircon on a very cold evening.

We booked Haus Holzapfel based on a previous experience. The week before check-in, we realised that the booking was at a different venue to what we originally thought, when I called to confirm details. I was assured that the place we had booked was just as good and had all the facilities we needed. On arrival, we unpacked and noticed that the TV downstairs was not working - the remote control did not work and the TV did not have manual buttons. We then checked upstairs and noticed no remotes for the spare room, and the remote for the main bedroom did not work downstairs. We notified the owners and were told the previous tenants had taken the upstairs remote and that could not be replaced on a Saturday afternoon. When I queried the downstairs remote not working and possibly needing batteries, I was told it had been working that morning. I then invited the owner to come to the house and check for themselves but was completely ignored and all communication then ceased. We had to huddle in the upstairs room to enjoy some down time after a long trip - disappointing to say the least. A few other points: The bedside lamp did not work as it kept falling out of the plug provided The freezer would not close as it had been left open at some point and frosted to the extent that ice had formed The braai racks were rusted and broken, and the top rack kept falling into the coals. The outdoor area is sparce and unpleasant and we did not, as a family, feel secure in the space.

Check-in was very well presented and polite with brief description for the room and everything. Very impressed with the service and stay was great.

Clean and comfortable, with a nice garden and pool to unwind in on a journey through the Karoo. Host was friendly and in - contact. I appreciated that the parking was secure and covered because we were travelling with a trailer.

We traveled from Cape town into a very hot Beaufort west. The only unfortunate part is that we could not book in before 2pm ( I have asked) so we had to hang around the small,hot town from 9am. On the other hand our stay was very pleasant.the Aircon in the room was amazing,the pool was clean and pleasant.there is enough outside seating and shade. The room was equipped perfectly for our short stay.

Ronelle was waiting to receive us and made us feel very welcome. It was very hot when we arrived so the pool was a welcome reprieve. The location is easy to find, safe and quiet. Would definitely stay there again and recommend it to anyone travelling to Beaufort West.

What an absolute gem. Friendly staff, modern rooms, we had an amazingly comfortable bed, beautiful pool for the kids to play in and relaxing environment. We will highly recommend this place even if it is just for one night's stay

Very welcoming, great overnight accommodation, nice outside space and great pool to cool off after long traveling. Great to have info about restaurants in the room as well as a map of the town, no loadshedding a definite bonus.Overall a great experience

No TV, toilet in the entrance, fridge very noisy, Furniture very old, must renovated, lamps on bed not to use, Could not make breakfast, small table, they give us a voucher for Breakfast in the restaurant, staff friendly
